Area is mostly sand and some rocks. Still working on property. We are about 30 min from Laughlin NV with casino's and the Colorado river. I am not on-site but will answer questions as best i can. Burro dr is a non maintained road and can be a bit rough. Small cars and large rigs should be careful

We had a fabulous time. It was quiet, the stars & views were lovely, and it felt private. Yet it was close to our destination hike on the Goldstrike Trail, leading down to the Colorado river. Boulder city is about a 20+ minute drive. And best of all was the amazing service and very accommodating Evelina. She’s a top-notch host.

This place is a little hidden gem. Maybe only hidden cause we had a bit of a late arrival, but a gem nonetheless. A super cute area off of Route 66 that was 100% worth a longer stay than we had time for. There's a whole preserve & museum area they have set up - wonderful!

Great experience staying at a peaceful desert Hipcamp RV site that offers the perfect balance: calm desert nights, big open skies, and still close enough to town for groceries, food, and lake fun. The site was level (hallelujah), hookups were simple, and the overall vibe was relaxed and welcoming — exactly what road-weary RVers hope for.
Whether you’re full-timing, weekend wandering, or just passing through Arizona, this Hipcamp stay turned out to be a pleasant surprise — and one I’d happily book again.

My friend and I tent camped here for a couple nights. It was well maintained and gorgeous! Great spot for sunrise, sunset, and star gazing.
We enjoyed all the little trails. The bathroom was super clean and comfortable to use. Abi was very helpful when providing directions to the site and and other times as well. The last bit of the trek to the site has washboard roads. We took our time and were fine getting there. It did make us want to just stay at the site rather than go back to the main road to find hiking and other things. Great spot to just be!

Camp spot was easily driveable by any vehicle, spacious, gave you the out in nature feeling without the trouble of driving into the unknown and hoping to find a spot. It was very peaceful and quiet. They also offer use of a washer and dryer, which is a really nice option for travelers.
My sense of direction isn’t great so when I needed help to find my way the hosts were very kind and helpful to guide me. Would absolutely recommend to anyone looking to get away from the city and explore the peaceful area of Golden Valley.

I had a wonderful HipCamp stay at Goffs Schoolhouse, right along historic Route 66 at the Mojave Desert Heritage & Cultural Site. The hosts were incredibly friendly and helpful, making me feel welcome from the moment I arrived.
The setting is truly special; wide open skies, a stunning desert sunset, and a peaceful sense of history all around you. Exploring the grounds was a highlight, with fascinating museum objects and artifacts that really bring the area’s past to life.
The bathrooms were clean and well maintained, and the signage is helpful. You can hear the trains passing by at night, but honestly, it didn’t detract from the experience at all. I enjoyed one of the best sleeps ever, and with a pair of earplugs, it’s no problem whatsoever. Overall, this was a unique, comfortable, and memorable stay, and I’d absolutely recommend it to anyone looking for a one-of-a-kind desert camping experience on Route 66. :)

When to go
Summer temperatures can regularly soar above 110°F in Laughlin, making outdoor activities other than water play dangerous. Spring and fall offer the best weather for outdoor activities, including camping. Spring is a good time for fishing, especially for striped bass. Visit in late April for the Laughlin River Run, one of the largest motorcycle events on the west coast.
