Wild Sage Ranch Elk Preserve

1. Wild Sage Ranch Elk Preserve

Las Vegas, NV · 8 sites
Our secluded ranch is located in the Humboldt Forest at 6,000 ft elevation in Mountain Springs, NV — a subalpine, four-season climate. The rugged terrain is home to elk, deer, and bighorn sheep, so please keep dogs under control to ensure peace for all. Self-contained RVs or truck tents only — this is an off-grid, BYO-everything experience. Horses, dog trainers, and UTV/ATV enthusiasts are welcome, with plenty of space for trailers. Each site is stand-alone, so you’ll be untethered, unplugged, and unboring amid endless outdoor adventures at Wild Sage Ranch. Enjoy hiking, archery, and knife throwing, or simply take in the dark night sky. You’re close to Red Rock Canyon, with bouldering, climbing, and Cottonwood Station just a short drive away. Please note: The inclined driveway and limited turning radius make this site best suited for Sprinter vans, RVs under 35 ft, or small campers towed by a 4WD vehicle. Self-contained RV and truck camping only. Snow is possible in January. The Wild Sage Ranch is an Elk Preserve, and at least one guest must be a member of our PMA ($49 annual fee) to stay here. A portion of membership proceeds supports monthly “It’s All Good” spotlight flora/fauna stars. Member benefits include: • Priority booking at Unboring RV Winebrary, Makers, Farmstays, and private retreats • Monthly newsletters highlighting new sites nationwide • Annual member-only special events • Discounts at supporting hosts and retailers • Private RV storage privileges

Reno, NV · 1 site · Tent, RV
We love to pass our free time here in the sunshine and juniper drafts overlooking the Sierras. Some days we watch the electric storms across the valley, other afternoons we picnic and nap while listening to the birds and wind.  We love the peace and silence, which feels remarkably remote and only 20 minutes from Reno.  Learn more about this land: We would love to share our 12 junipered acres with nature enthusiasts like ourselves. Bring your tent or camper and spend afternoons watching beautiful sunsets and wildlife from our land.  Spectacular expansive views across the valley to the Sierras and Mount Rose.  Conveniently 15 minutes from South Reno (40 minutes from North Lake Tahoe), the silence and absolute privacy here are restorative and replenishing.  We do not have trash collection services available and we ask all guest to practice a “leave no trace” philosophy.  **Because of extreme fire risk in our area we ask guests to refrain from having campfires for now. As this area is home to beautiful wildlife (and a few other distant homeowners) please visit with an intent to respect the quiet and privacy that makes this area so pleasurable for us all.  Thanks for visiting and enjoy your time!
