This property is secluded and in a remote area with limited cell service. AT&T and Verizon have limited service, other carriers do not. This property is accessible by off road vehicle only, otherwise you may park your car in parking which is 4-7 minutes away from your tent by our shuttle. Off road vehicle means a 4x4 to drive over a rocky trail.
To access your tent, you will be required to schedule the shuttle for check in. A host will drive out to meet you to take you to your tent. Must be scheduled in advance. Check in is between 3pm and 9pm only. The host does not live on property and travels for your scheduled check in time.

Welcome to your peaceful, desert getaway. This little Retro Camper is only about 35 minutes from the Strip. The property is home to Joshua trees, desert mountain views, beautiful sunsets, and some of the best star gazing around.
The camper comes with a full kitchen, a refrigerator, microwave, and gas stove. Dishes and utensils are provided as well as bedding and towels. The bed is about a full size bed, maybe a bit smaller, cozy for two people to sleep in. Mohave Sunset House (Blackbrush Wilds on Instagram) is a handcrafted 107 sq ft pine cabin on 1.25 private acres, tucked against Iron Mountain at 3,800 feet. You're just 19 miles from Grand Canyon West's iconic Skywalk. The drive in takes you straight through a protected Joshua tree forest. The cabin sits at its edge, where the trees thin out and the views open wide. From the cabin you can see the Grand Wash Cliffs, Meadview, and on a clear day even Lake Mead.
Best for one guest or two close companions. The bed is a single, so a second guest should bring a sleeping pad.
STARGAZING
At 3.6 on the Bortle scale, the skies are dark enough for excellent stargazing. On a clear night you can see the Milky Way, the Andromeda Galaxy, and the Orion Nebula. Mornings and evenings are cool, the air smells of sage, and the desert breeze is wonderful.

BATHROOM & SHOWER
The "bathroom" is a private olive-green tent with a toilet, toilet paper, and a solar light. As in many national parks, you bag your waste (bags provided) and pack it out. There's also a pressurized solar camp shower, which takes 4 gallons of water for a warm shower.
WATER: PLEASE READ
There's no well or water storage on site. At least one gallon will be waiting for you. Plan on about 2 gallons per person per day, plus 4 gallons to fill the solar shower.
Skip the water run: I can have 5 extra gallons waiting for you for $25. Just request it when you book.
Prefer to bring your own? The Chevron and Dollar Store in Meadview have water at reasonable prices.
SLOW DOWN
This place is intentionally simple. Borrow the knitting needles and vintage yarn, or browse books on Buddhism, Tibetan mysticism, the Grand Canyon, and Longfellow's Hiawatha. It's perfect for a digital detox or a quiet weekend. If you knit yourself something, I'll replace the yarn.

RESPECTING THE LAND
- Please stay within the property. The corners are marked with rock piles, and the eastern edge is about 20 feet past the big juniper. You have a nice stretch of land to the east of the property, from the road, to out past the Juniper tree about 20 feet. The land extends about 120 feet beyond the front of the cabin as well. There is a nice long drive behind the cabin, which extends to Iron Mountain, with massive boulders and trees for exploration and appreciation.
- The road up the mountain leads to public BLM land. Check a map first; purple flags or signs mark private property.
- Rockhounds welcome! On BLM land, you can collect up to 25 pounds of rocks per day for personal use (up to 250 pounds per year). Hand tools only, no machinery, and please don't sell what you find. Respect any posted signs or mining claims.
- Please don't step on, collect, or cut plants for firewood. Agave and cholla take many years to regrow.
- Please leave the quartz on the property in place, though you're welcome to take one souvenir piece from the driveway.

10/10 night sky!! We spent 2-3 hours just star gazing and taking pictures of the sky as people who cannot see the Milky Way from home. The location itself is in a teeny tiny town of like 200 people and sits off the drive way of a large (beautiful) house. You can see the house lights in the picture of the Milky Way. I’m sure you could message the host and ask them to turn them off. It wouldn’t matter much though because the saloon across the street and the other buildings have exterior lights that remain on during the night. The property next to the camper has quite a few dogs that bark incessantly, this did not bother us because we live in kennel run country lol. The camper windows also let some light in (and a draft because some don’t close). But the host has blackout curtains, and left sleep masks and foam ear plugs which I thought was super cute and grabbed for the plane ride home lol. We ate dinner at the saloon and it was alright, maybe we just didn’t order the right thing, and there was also a Fallout themed vow renewal reception happening when we were there so maybe they were just busy?? Idk, Fallout is a whole thing here apparently, my husband was very happy about it! While we were at dinner we watched the postman casually scramble a dune along his route and then come back down like it was nothing. That was kinda wild. Unfortunately I am a silly goose and did not take any pictures of the inside of the camper but it was cute! The bed was madddd comfy in my opinion and I slept like a baby. My 6’ husband not so much but yk beauty is pain I guess. The toilet is sketchy af and soured the mood for a minute when I accidentally brushed my (less than endowed) bottom against the wall and my favorite shorts became covered in wallpaper glue that had presumably melted from the heat. The host reimbursed me $20 for the inconvenience and said they would be working on it! AC worked fine but we didn’t use it cause it was pretty loud, we just let it cool down at night and opened it up first thing in the morning to get air moving. The outdoor shower was wild asf and honestly caused the loudest laughs my husband and I have had in awhile lmao. It was so freaking finicky and it would go from molten hot to ice cold within ~ .5mm range. We really really tried to dial it in but never got it right and felt so bad about wasting water that we just went with the chaos shower lmaooo. The best part was it was pitch black in the middle of the night and a slight gust of wind would blow the curtain in every so often and blast us with a 55° breeze while we were either being flash fried or frozen. We set the dogs off next door we were cackling so hard at our circus shower and then I ran half nekked back into the camper and I’m like 90% sure there’s a camera facing out to the upper left of the front door. At least the stars look beautiful above even when you are being hazed by the outdoor shower!! If you are solo or a duo traveling that knows how to relax and go with flow and still have a good time, this is the spot. There’s a few little kinks and quirks but that’s travel bro, go with it. Give grace, have fun, be safe :)) definitely recommend this spot (if you are a mid size girly or average man or smaller), especially if it gets a little more tlc ;) come for the views, stay for the coyotes yipping at dusk and silly showers under the milky way<3

The highlight was being able to see so many stars! I wasn't sure if we'd be far away enough from vegas but we definitely were! And all the horses are so friendly and walk right up to the gates to greet you. We only stayed for one night. We would've stayed another if we had booked the horse back riding offered on their website.

Heather’s camper was very cozy, a perfect size for one person or a couple. We stayed just one night so didn’t need to use most of the amenities but the camper had everything one would need. Personally a flushable toilet (NOT a compost toilet) was a big plus! The outdoor area is pretty spacious and private, open view towards the mountains. Highly recommend.

The retro camper is a work of art! It was very cozy for me and my dog. I felt safe on my own there, and I would recommend it to a solo traveler or couple looking for a simple, peaceful night's rest. I loved our space,we had neighbors that were pretty nice,saw a couple snakes which was scary at first but they weren’t bad company.The bed and room we got was super comfy and a lot bigger than I expected and I absolutely loved the outside shower.I would definitely come back but probs stay at another one of there places just to get a new experience.I did however prefer the ravens area more than the little house or wagon (just looking) because we had more kitchen space.

Such a cute setup and perfectly nestled for stunning views! The bed is big enough for two and we slept soundly. Honestly we came for Vegas but regret not spending all of our time at the camper. So many cute little quails and we even saw some nightjars/poorwills around 12-1am. I was itching to see the wild horses and our host was quick to answer our questions about directions. Thanks to them, we were able to see them right at dusk along with a colony of bats that skimmed the water for a quick drink in the desert.
