My ONE and ONLY Hipcamp site is locate right at the entrance of this small property. All campers must be 35 feet or less in length and given the small size of the campground it's easiest if you arrive before dark.
The entrance is on a curve so make sure you enter from the left hand side of the road and don't be afraid to roll thru a little grass to make sure you have plenty of room. Make a hard hairpin turn to the right and your campsite is straight ahead and like everything here, a pull-thru site. (Please see HIPCAMP main photo)
This is a long-term campground but I keep this one spot up front for our traveling friends to enjoy as you move across the country as options can be limited. Enjoy your stay and if you're ever unsure about anything just give me a ring.
Please make sure to arrive before dark. Small campground and quiet community with minimal lighting can make for a challenging and sometimes disorienting arrival if not careful.

I stayed at the Fence Post in October, after water was shut off for the winter. HOWEVER, when I made the reservation, the host was very quick to tell me this… so I was prepared! Kathy was great about giving instructions to get to the spot (make sure you don’t come in too close to the building!), and how to leave if backing up was a problem. The area behind me was very spacious so it was “easy” to back out and drive out! ( I say “easy,” because I’m new at travel trailering and backing up isn’t ever really easy for me - yet!!). I was very pleased with how level it was - from a picture I had seen, I didn’t expect that! Woo hoo! Lots of green space available to walk the dogs. This was a one-night stay - just passing through. I noted that others discussed traffic noise. It is true, it is not too far off the road BUT, I didn’t hear a thing (& I didn’t have tv or music on!!)! I am happy to recommend it to other hipcampers! Thanks Kathy… and I hope you have a great winter!

The Fence Post is conveniently located right off highway 29. It was a perfect spot to post up for the night on my journey across the US. There is a nice field right in front of the parking spot. A few reviews mention highway noise. You can hear it but it didn’t feel bothersome and with a fan on, I couldn’t hear it at all.

Nice place, green and quiet for the most part, though there are nearby houses and you can hear their dogs and roosters. Fireflies put on quite a show once the sun goes down. There is a porta-potty on site and a nearby trail. Corey also reached out the day we were coming in, and was very responsive to questions. Would definitely stay here again!

Clear directions host greeted me right away. I camped with a tent for one night, grass area was too high, it rained a lot and I couldn’t keep my feet dried. Train goes by nearby and sounds the horn quite often. Bathroom is an outhouse and it appeared to be very full, so was the garbage . I can’t recommend this place. Sorry

Quiet little spot along the highway. We did not find it loud, rather we had a very peaceful night. Kathy was responsive and let us know exactly what we needed to pull right in and settle for the evening. One of the campers came and checked on us as well. The only issue is the water is very high in iron, and even with our 3 stage filter we found it unsuitable for use. Otherwise, great spot for a layover!!

I had an absolutely fantastic experience! The location was incredibly peaceful, and just across the street, there's a lovely walking trail that takes you all the way to the water! Finding and pulling into the site was a breeze, and everything—water and electric—worked perfectly! The host was super communicative and oh-so-kind. I can't recommend this place enough for anyone passing through who needs a safe and cozy spot to relax! It’s definitely a hidden gem!

Campsite was exactly what was expected! Loved being on the end of the campsite. Quiet and easy to find. Loved that the porta potty was right across the street and was super clean. Thank you for providing exactly what we needed! Would recommend and would be back! Campsite owner was very responsive as well!

Easy pull thru and level site. Not a noisy place.
Just know you are on someon's private property and farmland and owners burn, burnpiles and the smoke could affect your lungs . If the wind is directed at the campsites.
Warning for Asmatic prone persons. Like me.
