The Mooseshroom

Hi! We are Dan and Patti Gregerson and we manage the farm with a tiny spinner’s flock of cashmere goats, alpacas and Shetland sheep, whose fleece we hand-process into yarn and knitted items. We have a flock of laying hens that forage around the property and provide us with eggs. The south facing and gentle downward sloping hillside lets the morning sun shine on our honey bee apiary, a fledgling orchard, greenhouse, and garden, all of which seasonally provide fruits and vegetables that we hope to share with folks. Also on the farm is a cozy pottery studio where Patti is the sole craftsperson making functional pottery for everyday use. Stone Cottage Pottery and Farm exists to be a place of renewal and retreat, to create useful things and experiences that help enhance life’s simple pleasures, and a bring sense of comfort and joy to people’s lives. Learn more about this land:Our property is a great spot to make your base camp for daily adventures in this region. We’re located just 3 paved miles off of US. HWY 2 and nestled into a private hillside, away from the few people that do live in our neighborhood. We’re an hour from Glacier National Park, 45 minutes from the resort towns of Whitefish, and Bigfork (both with great, independent shops and restaurants), and Flathead Lake, the largest natural lake west of the Mississippi. There is easy access to the Lost Trail National Wildlife Refuge within 15 minutes from the campsite. Our driveway goes right uphill and then take a left onto the grass-covered forest road on our property. With two switchbacks, you'll climb about 100 feet to your private campsite which includes a wooden platform, screened room, hammocks, cozy chairs, picnic table, composting toilet, solar shower, a changing room, and a full view of the lake. You’ll be camping at the highest point on our property, where you'll take in 360 degree views of sub-alpine forest, a rocky ravine and almost the full length of the beautiful Little Bitterroot Lake with public access less than 3 miles away! You'll gaze down and see glimpses of our tiny farm and may see our Shetland Sheep, Alpacas and Cashmere goats foraging, our chickens scratching about, our tiny orchard, the 120-year old log cabin, originally built up the road when the Northern Pacific Railroad went through this area and that we dismantled and rebuilt here on our farm, and of course the tiny pottery studio where Patti works most days creating pottery designed to celebrate the simple pleasures in life and the comforts of home. Less than three miles down the road is the Hilltop Hitching Post, a sweet local hangout for food, drinks and good conversation. You'll pass a convenience store/gas station and post office on your way to our farm. Looking back toward the ravine, you may see some wildlife milling about, likely including whitetail deer with a possible sighting of elk, moose, and black bear. Frequently eagles and other large birds of prey can be observed overhead at the campsite riding the air currents down to the lake. We are surrounded by beautiful mountain lakes, hiking trails, biking, fishing, kayaking, floating, and paddling adventures.

Hi, Im Lexie with my partner Dennis, we are hosting Hipcamp for our fourth year here in Coram (aka “The Canyon”). We aim to make a truly unique experience - Dennis is a wiz at making eclectic décor with the supplies found on the land. This year we are adding an outdoor kitchen to make your stay more comfortable. We are typically around most days ( Dennis’s workshop area is in a corner of the property) - stop by and say ‘hi’ to our pygmy goats, Gracie and the newest arrival Luna. Also don’t be surprised if you get a warm visit from our American bully Ophelia… We are constantly making improvements on the land and working on building a garden , we are excited to see the place evolve more this season! The location of the property is 7 miles from the Glacier National Park entrance, and walking distance to several amenities, including the Stonefly Lounge, Glacier Distillery, and Glacier Grill. Despite being close to things, our sites are very private and give you the feel as if you are out in the woods. There is a small walk thru the property to both sites and there is a wagon at the parking spots there for your use to help haul your things if needed and the trail is marked and has small lights to help for those who arrive late. Thank you for looking at our site and We hope you enjoy it! Please note that an occasional train can be heard throughout Canyon and there is an emergency siren that alerts the volunteer first responders in the area to an emergency. Ear plugs for light sleepers are recommended and we have some available if you'd like. Come enjoy peace and quiet in the beautiful meadows near our home. We are located on 37 acres that include forested trails, a large pond, two small ponds, a creek, and frequent wildlife as well as spectacular stargazing at night. All sites have a campfire ring and picnic table. We provide a unique eco-camping experience in contrast to the crowded campground/RV park, and we are only 6 miles away from the entrance to Glacier National Park! Please let us know if you have multiple tents or vehicles as some sites may be a better choice for you than others. No hookups are provided – dry camping only. Parking for larger vehicles/trailers is available at sites 1-6 - an open, flat meadow with the pond on the other side of the road. Tents are welcome in all sites; although, we recommend the back meadow sites (7 and up) for more secluded tent campers (especially in July) as it has less traffic and more privacy. Sites 7-20 (the back meadow sites) have parking for vehicles 26' or less in total length. All sites have access to vault toilets, and all sites are back-in sites with partial shade. **Be sure to visit recreation.gov to purchase the $2 entry reservation to Glacier Park...if you can't get one try again at 8am the day before or you can enter the park after 4pm without a ticket. Contact us if you need alternative ideas to get into the park. Because of the proximity to Glacier National Park and the main HWY, traffic noise and train noise can be heard at the campsites. Visitors are ask to keep their speed to a minimum to reduce dust on the dirt on Greens Road. We are just a short bike ride away (two minutes by car) from attractions such as the Whiskey Barn, Josephine’s Speak Easy, Glacier Hi-Line Ropes Course, Glacier Grill Restaurant and the Amazing Fun Center, maze, and mini golf. It is also easy access to the Gateway to Glacier Bike path. E-bike rentals are across the street from us. Closest Gas station is the Cenex in Coram (1.5 mi away). Closest public (free) landfill dump is 2.2 miles toward Columbia Falls at 9626 Us HWY 2 E. Near Paul Bunyan Bar and Grill (which is also a good restaurant near us). Look for the gated entry and small sign marking Flathead Landfill. Closest grocery is in Hungry Horse at Canyon Foods Grocery (3.5 miles away). There is a laundromat next to this grocery store. Closest dump and water fill up for a vehicle with a holding tank is Mikes Conoco at 1645 9th st W in Columbia Falls (8.9 mi away). Closest town with wifi, cafes, restaurants, urgent care and larger grocery stores is Columbia Falls (9 miles away). There is a freshwater spring where you can fill up containers of water in Bad Rock Canyon (between Columbia Falls and Hungry Horse on the way here... 10 min away from us). Look for the large pull off areas between the river and the rock canyon walls and a white pipe coming out of the rock. We've personally filled up at this spring for years! Showers are available at Pinewood Park Outdoor Pool in Columbia Falls (next to Cedar Creek Lodge) - It is $2 per person to enter the pool during Public Swim (Mon-Sun 1:30-4:15pm and Mon-Fri 6:30 pm- 8:15pm) or during Lap Swim (Mon-Fri 12-1pm and 5-6pm). They have a private bathroom with a shower and also open showers in the changing rooms. The pool opens the second week of June and closes the first or second week of August. Showers are available at Pinewood Park Outdoor Pool in Columbia Falls (next to Cedar Creek Lodge) - It is $2 per person to enter the pool during Public Swim (Mon-Sun 1:30-4:15pm and Mon-Fri 6:30 pm- 8:15pm) or during Lap Swim (Mon-Fri 12-1pm and 5-6pm). They have a private bathroom with a shower and also open showers in the changing rooms. The pool opens the second week of June and closes the first or second week of August. My well maintained popup camper is already set up and ready for you to camp on our private 40 acre lot. Situated near a creek that flows a through our land and exits into the the middle fork of the flathead river, which’s less than a .5 mile from the camp. This private campsite is only 8 mile from the west entrance to Glacier National Park. A four mile drive down a privately maintained road will let you enjoy the beauty of being off the grid and into nature while keeping you in close proximity to all of the flathead valley without any of the hassles associated with set up and take down and hauling a camper around trying to find an available campsite. This site givs you privacy that most campsites can’t offer. This spacious popup features a king sized bed on one side while a double size bed is located on other side. Both sides have comfortable foam mattresses and privacy curtains. The camper also has the ability to convert both the booth dinette and the wrap seating around into extra sleeping options. Propane cookstove is located outside while a freshly filled 5 gallon potable water tank is hooked up to pump handle sink inside. Despite being off grid we do have a solar shower available and to help you avoid leaving anything behind we will have our off grid toilet system available. A perfect choice for those adventurers who want to enjoy Montanas great outdoors, yet prefer to have some comfort and shelter from the unpredictable elements. If your flying in, road tripping through, or just wanting a no hassel camping experience, then look no further. I will give detailed directions upon confirmation along with a pin on google maps to get you to our easily accessible by vehicle private camp site. A four mile drive down a private road in a takes you from the popular raft takeout at Blankenship bridge where the middle and north fork of the flathead rivers converge to our camper. This location is a short drive to enjoy some of the areas most popular summer activities the valley has to offer, while giving you a no hassle place to relax and enjoy your trip. It can be fully equipped upon request with bedding and a small extra fee per bed that comes with 2 pillows, sheets, blanket, and comforter. If you have your own bedding then it will come rented with silverware, cups, mugs, teapot. Along with pots, pans, spatulas, ladles, can openers, wine openers and other miscellaneous cooking items. Pot holders, dish towels ,a scrub brush with dish soap and a basin to wash dishes in. A solar shower is included and a couple camp chairs. Plus many other extras that will leave you wanting for nothing. Pack your clothes, towels, personal items and food. Leave the rest up to us so you can focus on enjoying all that our area has to offer!

We have an almost 360-degree view of the Valley. We offer 100-amp full hookups on the property. The property is surrounded by other farms, giving you the feeling of being way out in the country. We are just 10 minutes away from Hutton Ranch shopping, 20 minutes from Whitefish, and 45 minutes from West Glacier. Additionally, we have a trailer available for rent, set up on one of the four sites, in case you don't feel like hauling yours.

Plan to pack it in and pack it out. Plenty of firewood and pet friendly. Each site does not have WIFI but you can come sit in the swing by our cabin and log on. We have two dogs off-leash so it is important you and your dogs are pet friendly.

Hi, Im Lexie with my partner Dennis, we are hosting Hipcamp for our fourth year here in Coram (aka “The Canyon”). We aim to make a truly unique experience - Dennis is a wiz at making eclectic décor with the supplies found on the land. This year we are adding an outdoor kitchen to make your stay more comfortable. We are typically around most days ( Dennis’s workshop area is in a corner of the property) - stop by and say ‘hi’ to our pygmy goats, Gracie and the newest arrival Luna. Also don’t be surprised if you get a warm visit from our American bully Ophelia… We are constantly making improvements on the land and working on building a garden , we are excited to see the place evolve more this season! The location of the property is 7 miles from the Glacier National Park entrance, and walking distance to several amenities, including the Stonefly Lounge, Glacier Distillery, and Glacier Grill. Despite being close to things, our sites are very private and give you the feel as if you are out in the woods. There is a small walk thru the property to both sites and there is a wagon at the parking spots there for your use to help haul your things if needed and the trail is marked and has small lights to help for those who arrive late. Thank you for looking at our site and We hope you enjoy it! Please note that an occasional train can be heard throughout Canyon and there is an emergency siren that alerts the volunteer first responders in the area to an emergency. Ear plugs for light sleepers are recommended and we have some available if you'd like. Also please drive slow on the road as it is dirt and dust out other homes and we have animals in the neighborhood and children playing. Thank you for treating our place as if it were yours.
