Camp Caribou

I honestly didn’t know what to expect from the listing. The pictures don’t really give you the full perspective of the property. You’re essentially camping on a small lot, and the tent areas are fairly close together. The property borders three roads, including Bass, although none of the roads were very active during our stay. It was actually a pretty quiet neighborhood. You can hear the trains from time to time, but overall, it was a good experience. Just be aware that the property is smaller and more close-quarters than the pictures may make it seem. That said, we still enjoyed our stay! The host was accommodating and responsive!

On Glacier’s Doorstep

Enjoyed my time at Camp Caribou. I had a quiet and pleasant week and did tons of Glacier National Park exploration with Camp Caribou as my base. Tomi was very kind and helpful. The vintage cabin was a nice amenity. I recommend this camp.

It was such a luxury to use the cabin, especial the hot shower after a long hike! I appreciate the hosts opening these up these facilities to campers. The neighbor and the neighbor dog could be a bit loud, and the train goes through the area pretty often. Ear plus are essential.

The location is great, we were so close to the west entrance for Glacier! The lodge was also very nice. The train at night was loud but we popped in some headphones and it was fine.

Great location close to west Glacier. The lodge was a wonderful amenity to have access to. Quiet except for the occasional train, but honestly didn’t bother us in the least. Would definitely return!

It was very convenient to Columbia Falls and the West entrance to Glacier. Met some cool folks camping there too. Everyone was respectful. Trains were a little annoying but I slept thru it

We did not want to leave this spot! We loved sitting on the porch of the lodge, having coffee, and then making s’mores at night. The location can’t be beat, and the property and lodge are clean and welcoming.

Cute cabin on the site for showers and bathroom, the decor was adorable and it was pretty clean. We were disappointed to arrive and find out the stove was not able to be used, as that is why we booked a site with a kitchen. No stove somewhat negated that amenity entirely and we had to use our camp stove the whole time. The site was in the middle of a neighborhood which wasn’t clear in the photos, and the trains were pretty loud and frequent, but the other guests were quiet and it felt like a pretty private stay aside from that. Good location for glacier np, just a 7 or so minute drive down the road to the west glacier entrance.

Camp Caribou was a wonderful place to stay just outside West glacier Montana. We would definitely stay there again on our next trip to the area. We highly recommend this place.

Great place!

I loved it here! we stayed for 5 days. we appreciated the shower since we weren't hooked up to sewer and it is bigger than our trailer. site 1 feels like we had our own yard. the picnic table was nice to sit at and I loved sitting outside in the morning to drink my coffee. it was less than 10min to glacier and so quiet. if we stayed in the park it would have been noisy. only one day we got a couple of mosquito bites sitting outside but other than that they weren't bad at all. the tent sites looked nice, the cabin was nice. I definitely recommend staying here.

If your travels take you anywhere near Glacier National Park, I highly recommend Caribou camp. This camp is set up for the weary wanderer with all of the amenities, including fire pits, s’mores kits, comfy outdoor chairs and a quiet, secluded spot to just unwind. Just minutes from the entrance to West Glacier & 25 minutes from Whitefish, it couldn’t be more convenient. There were beautiful Mountain View‘s right out our front door… And we especially enjoyed the ambient train noises. It even rained while we were here, which was heaven sent. We’ll definitely come here again when we visit the glacier Park area.

We really enjoyed our stay at Camp Caribou, the owners, John and Tomi were very accommodating. We stayed 3 nights in our camper and loved being able to use the campsites facilities. It is an older trailer, but a work in progress for the owners. You can see their desire to make you feel at home, the little touches are wonderful! The train may be an issue for light sleepers, we did not have an issue with it. We were only 10 minutes from the west entrance and the whole area surrounding has good restraunts and shopping. We would definitely stay at Camp Caribou again. Thx Tomi and John.

The location relative to Glacier was perfect; however, the “lodge” was not as it was described. The single-wide was run-down, and the bathroom was carpeted. I missed in the listing that the site did not include a picnic table - it was difficult to do anything without one since we were tent camping, while the RV sites did have tables.

Great place to explore West Glacier

Tomi and her husband were amazing hosts. I really enjoyed my stay here, with electric and water. There is also a camp "lodge" with a kitchen and refrigerator, a shower, and a great front porch. Nice place to hang out if it rains. Also a community fire pit area and a dump station. You can explore Hungry Horse, Columbia Falls, North Fork and West Glacier from here.

Cross country tent camping!

Great location, great communication! The site is very close to GNP. We chose to stay on a very primitive tent site with no electric but other sites were available and the lodge is right there with a bathroom, shower, couch, TV, kitchen, etc. There is a great bar a short drive away called The Stone Fly. Mountain dive bar vibes with really good pizza and pot pies.

It was a good camping spot for being super close to the park and it was easy to get to. The spots had to marked to avoid confusion which made it a lot better. I had no issue with the camp itself, the amenities or the hosts. The neighbors near the tent spot did host a party one the night there and they were shooting off fireworks very close to the fence. We had to move to a different spot cause me and my boyfriend almost got hit multiple times. The host was very accommodating to this incident and understood the inconvenience.

The place was really nice and easy to access. Very nice people. My only complaint was not enough toliet facilities. There was only one toilet and if someone was showering or enjoying themselves on it everyone else was SOL! Lol

Wonderful spot outside Glacier

Great site. Came in for a one nighter before heading into Glacier for the week. Met some really cool people in Tess and the Bell’s in the community area. (May have stayed up a little past quiet time). When we are back in the area will for sure stay again. Clean bathroom/shower, was able to access a fridge and freezer and dish washing area. Great spot!

Very nice piece of property with 30 amp 50 amp hook ups had a site with 20 amp hook up. There’s a tent site & they have an RV you can rent A really nice one and they are working on the mobile home; that’s on the property which is used for restroom facilities and what not right now. Beautiful piece of property highly recommend. The host were very nice as well.
