Located less than a mile from the NorthEast entrance to Yellowstone National Park. The Range Riders is a rustic Airbnb lodging option for people who don’t mind communal bathrooms, creaking floors, and thin walls. It is a beautiful building with a lot of history and charm that shows it's age. Range Rider Accommodations Located in the town of Silver Gate, just outside the Northeast entrance to Yellowstone National Park, sits the historic Range Rider Lodge. Construction began on the Range Rider in 1937 after the magnificent Beartooth Highway was completed. Whole logs were brought in from the surrounding forests and oil paintings depicting beautiful mountain scenes were commissioned to line the banisters of the second floor. The Range Rider was originally constructed to be an “indoor playground” for all of the tourists coming over the Beartooth Highway. Since its opening, the Range Rider, originally called the Gorham Chalet, has seen many wild times and brought a lot of entertainment to a small mountain community. Ernest Hemingway even used to frequent the bar and write. The original logs still stand and the Range Rider still possesses all of the magic that it has had since the day it opened. The Range Rider Lodge is not for people looking for a luxury lodging option. The building warms up during the day but cools off at night depending on the outside temperature; to combat this we provide small space heaters in each bedroom.

We had a very lovely stay at Margaret's property, the area is gorgeous and we loved being close to the horses! Our Great Dane loved it too! We didn’t get a chance to meet the host but we did meet Suzanne who also lives on site and she is wonderful! She’s a guide in Yellowstone and works in town. We definitely hope to stay here again next time we pass through Cody and hopefully for more than one night!

This was a wonderful place to camp! We stayed 3 nights and added a 4th. Great views, very quiet, the dogs had room to run off-leash and play ball, and the greeters as we pulled in were a beautiful herd of about 20 Longhorns! We met Megan and her daughter - really nice folks. The road in is gravel but extremely well maintained. We were in a 30ft. pull trailer. Thanks so much to Ryan and Megan!! Great stay!!!

Eric was such a friendly host. There is no designated camping spot on the property so you can pitch your tent wherever works best for you. Eric supplied us with wood and gasoline to have a fire for the evening.

Perfect spot for a last minute getaway! Really quiet and closer to town. Plenty of room and private. Loved the sunset and sunrise! Would recommend! And super friendly hosts!

We loved camping on Judy’s land. We had a great spot for our van at the end of her field next to the river and amongst the trees. The location is right next to the road, so there is a fair amount of road noise, but we still felt like we enjoyed a good amount of privacy. There is a porta potty and water available near by. It was a great location with close proximity to Tippet Rise (30 mins away). Judy was lovely and easy to communicate with. We felt lucky to have found such a beautiful spot and would definitely camp there again.

Sandy and Jerry were excellent hosts and their property is beautiful! The setting along the river is very peaceful. Water on one side and mountains all around. They were very accommodating and had plenty of local suggestions. We were greeted upon our arrival and offered a hand with anything we needed. Very flexible with where we could park in the yard. Even offered use of their bathroom if we needed to. This was our first time using hipcamp and I would recommend it to anyone. Thanks Sandy and Jerry for all of your wonderful hospitality!!

The campsite is located in bare prairie with some nice views of the countryside. We went for the longhorn feeding and this did not disappoint - it was a great experience. During our weekend stay we were graced by a full moon, which made a beautiful Montana sky even more stunning.

1 night at Secluded Yellowstone River Camp

Fantastic host that’s very knowledgeable about what it takes for a camper to have a great time. The cabin is nice, right on the river and couldn’t have asked for a better stay. Lots of room outside and very peaceful and quite except a train passing through every once in awhile which we didn’t mind. Do yourself a favor and go ahead and book and you won’t regret it. Thanks to the host for a great stay and for having us. If ever in the area again we will definitely stay again.
