If you are sensitive to noise when sleeping, you may want to consider earplugs. Hungry Horse Dam is 4.5 miles away, with construction first starting in 1948 and completed in 1953. At the time of completion, it was the second-highest and third-largest concrete dam in the world. Annually, it generates about a billion kilowatt-hours of power from the water passing through. Hungry Horse is an unincorporated community and has a population of 634. The Flathead Valley is known for its recreational activities including hiking, fishing, camping, biking, water sports, and observing local wildlife. Flathead Lake is also a popular recreational area 30 miles away and the largest natural fresh water lake in the West.

Spectacular. This is a destination within a destination. Ridiculous views, comfortable spot and great amenities. We really could not have asked for more. If you like to fish they have the at. If you want to kayak they have that. If you need a hot shower, they have that. Scoot into the park come back to base camp- great spot for that too.

Bring your hammocks for site 14! Lots of great trees for lounging and shade. You can catch glimmers of the large pond in the morning and evening through the trees.
