Don't be fooled! It's amazing!
What a delight Scott is! Yet another day, we found ourselves running late arriving at our HipCamp. We rolled into HooDoo Farms just as light was eking away.
Now I’m just going to be real here for a second. I’m traveling with another, younger woman, so there’s been at least one HipCamp where we just didn’t feel safe and we found other accommodations. As we traveled to Scott’s HipCamp, there were some places around that were rough.
As we traveled the last few miles, just in case we got there and had misgivings, we thought of reasons why we’d have to run back to a gas station some ten miles away to grab something and then disappear into the Montana night.
Once there, however, we were shown to the camp. Past the house, past the granaries, past all the farm and ranch equipment, through a pasture, a gate, and another pasture.
To a paradise.
Everything up to that point had been pretty dry and brown, but when we dropped off the small-mesa-type high ground into where the camp was, it was stunning. There is a small body of water, perhaps a big stream, small river? Just gorgeous.
And then we met Scott face to face. Any hesitancy we may have had evaporated like morning mist. What a genuinely nice guy. Salt-of-the-earth rancher with funny stories of how horses are afraid of moose but not bear? Who’d have thunk!
Without even one tiny little moment of pause I can highly recommend. He’s about 45 minutes away from the east entrance of Glacier National Park. You'll drive away smiling!
