Leaning Tree Campground

Water was an issue when we arrived. Our site’s electric was not functioning and needed repair. On the positive, it was close to Glacier NP and trees between sites gave a feeling of privacy.

When we arrived, someone else was in our site. A call to the host quickly resolved the matter with an even better site. Great service. We’ll be back.

We booked our site (RV-6) on 5/31/25 for a two night stay starting 8/30. I called several times prior to the trip. I was finally able to make contact the day before. The woman that answered explained that the owner’s husband had died and they were out of town for the funeral. The person on the phone could not confirm reservations. We arrived on 8/30 to find that there was no one to check us in. A gentleman at the restaurant attempted to help, but the cellular reception is zero. We went to RV-6 (the only pull-through) to find a large motorhome occupying it. I setup our Starlink and was able to send a message through the Hipcamp message system, with no response. My wife was able to get a text reply from the phone number listed on google. We were told to occupy one of two other sites. Both were smaller and neither was a pull-though. We decided to take one of the offered sites. The power pylon is on the wrong side for most trailers, it is also 15 amp only. We were told that none of the water was potable and were not given any option on how to fill our tank. We had to wash dishes on the picnic table with water carried from a central spigot (that was not potable). Showers were free, but hot water was a guessing game. There were stray dogs roaming. We like dogs, but if we had brought ours it would have been a disaster. Overall, this isn’t the worst RV park I have been to, but I won’t go back. There are much better stays in Glacier and the price wasn’t worth the hassle.

Nice place close to east glacier!

This was a nice family oriented campground. We stayed two nights, the electric worked great and there was a water fill up close by. We enjoyed a breakfast and a dinner at the onsite cafe. Both were very good and the staff was friendly and attentive. We would stay again!

Convenient location after a long day at Many Glacier & before heading to St. Mary’s area. Site RV2 is well spaced from others, but we are in a camper-van. There are showers, laundry, a dinner, ice/firewood and ice-cream. Site has fire-pit & picnic table. Overall better than expected & the people running it were efficient & welcoming. Great location to East Glacier

Overall we enjoyed our 3 nights. The location is about as close to the entrances to Many Glacier and St Mary's as you can get without being inside. The grounds were kept fairly well maintained. And the Lady running the front desk was super nice. The showers were very nice to have and hot. Site 5 we stayed in was very small for being listed as an RV site but we had a pop up so we were just able to get it in. Definitely some road noise as the highway is right there, and our kids counted 7 different dogs roaming around that I believe belonged to the workers and their families there. All of the dogs were very friendly though.

Convenient stay as it is close to GNP east entrance, the bathroom is super clean and it feels great to have a warm shower while camping. Beautiful forest. However, the surrounding environment is quite noisy and the campsites are a bit close for comfort. Can be difficult to differentiate the different sites and parking situations involved.

Host is so generous and very nice. Bathroom were clean. Fire wood and ice is easily available. Tent sites are closer to each other and had little bug issue. Other than that I feel very safe on this campground and it is very nice. Also it is very near to many glacier.

I really like this space. We just put our tent over there. This place gives your own space. Host is amazing. We booked this for one night and we had another tent site for remaining days. But as we liked it, we requested a host of we can stay here by paying difference of money if available and we were able to stay except one day. Host is so generous and very nice. Bathroom were clean. Fire wood and ice is easily available. I did not feel big around this site and site has good tree shades. Also it is very near to many glacier. I highly recommend.

Short drive and easy access to East side of Glacier NP, especially Many Glacier. Clean showers with hot water and a small restaurant. Clean campground with tent sites, camper spots, and cabins and friendly dogs ready for pets.

The campground was small but provided enough space for each guest. The bathrooms were always clean. The location is close to Glacier and seemed to be far enough to avoid some of the mountain weather.

East is best

It was a nice campground with nice facilities (bathroom/shower house). It did not have any bear boxes for tent campers, but the dogs do a good job keeping away the bears. With that being said, the dogs will sometimes get in your business and jump up on picnic tables. Overall, it is a good place to stay. The East side of Glacier is currently the best side to stay as there are no entry reservations on Going to the Sun road and this campground is close to St. Mary's, Many Glacier, and Two Medicine.

Good spot for stay

Very centrally located for major tourist spots and hiking, very clean washrooms and more construction in progress to expand further. Little tight and felt many sites squeezed too close but we did not have any issues. Would recommend.

The campsite was a little messy, no dump point and close to the road. Female bathroom was renovated and quite good. Male was being renovated. Overall, overpriced and average, small site.

We had a nice stay at the Leaning Tree. It’s off of a busy road and it’s a small space so there isn’t a ton to do. Not much space for the kids to run around and walk the dog. But it’s close to Glacier which is why we were there. We were pleasantly surprised to have breakfast at the cafe. It took awhile but we were totally fine waiting since they are cooking to order. Everyone was nice and welcoming. We were also happily surprised to have 50amp. Water was close by so we filled up before parking. Would recommend to others!

Great place! Little restaurant and general store, nice and helpful folks, showers/sauna/dishwashing station/flush toilets/coin laundry, and so close to the east entrance to Glacier!

Campground itself seemed nice and was easy to find but when I got there someone was in my site. I had even messaged the host the day before to confirm if I needed any information for check in but got no response. There was no one there that I could talk to because it was after hours and as a young woman traveling alone I didn’t feel comfortable asking the people if they had booked that site.

Convenient to Glacier + HOT SHOWER

When we arrived at site RV5 we realized it couldn’t accommodate our truck bed camp setup but our host Tristen allowed us to claim one of the other vacant sites. I’d recommend using this campground for the convenient location, laundry, and shower but don’t expect much privacy between the sites.

The office was closed when we arrived at 3pm. We knew our tent site, so we just set up. There were others though with reservations who didn't know their site number & no one answered the phone number that was posted on the door. I texted the host through hipcamp & eventually got the door number for those people. Paying extra for a shower seemed excessive, so we didn't. The bathroom was warm & clean. The laundry room also looked clean. We did buy firewood & put the money in the box. There were dogs as mentioned in other people's reviews. I wouldn't say they were a "pack". There were 3 dogs that came by our tent while we were setting up. They were friendly. We pet them & they were on their way. In the morning a different dog showed up while we were packing up. Very well trained to fetch the stick and lay down waiting for you to toss it again. This was a very entertaining, smart dog. We had some fun with him. Overall the site was perfect for our ride into Glacier from the east entrance.

Optimal Stay close to Glacier NP

The staff was friendly. The site was great. Bathrooms were clean and big with hot water. I did not checkout the cafe or laundry, but I heard the laundry was good. The location was perfect! Super close to both the Many Glacier Entrance and St Mary Entrance of Glacier National Park.

we had a nice time but our camp spot was a few feet on both sides from other tents as well as right on the busy highway. we couldn't find anyone on check in and the designated number didn't answer or have a voicemail set up. the bathrooms and showers were amazing
