Since then, it has regrown into hardwood forest, dotted with remnants of pine. It feels wild and untouched, despite knowing it's history. And within it, it harbors all manner of waterways, wildlife, plants, and fungi beyond your imagination. We love southern Missouri and hope you come catch a taste of the wildness that is the Forest. 193889/10 awesome experience! Even though the waters were low due to the drought, the swimming holes were still deep and clear enough to do a couple laps. There were also several cool rocks/crystals that I spent my time hoarding 😅 I will most likely be back in the spring to fill another shelf. Michelle was also super sweet, and I could text her no matter what and she was very prompt with answering. She also gave me fresh eggs! Which with current grocery prices came at a perfect time to save my bank account 😂 Highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a secluded retreat with nature. The noises from the other campsite didnt bother me, and I could even comfortably stargaze from a hammock i set up in the trees 🙏🏾

The renters are very nice and made sure that I had everything that I needed. The cite by the creek is setup very well with plenty of area. Also, i’m not from that area so I don’t know what normal is, but while I was there, I didn’t fight almost any bugs. The whole time I was there, I only saw a few flies. I’m from Arkansas where the mosquitoes will pick you up and carry you away. And if there is ever a time to where I can be outside and not get bit by a mosquito, it’s a really really good day. I highly recommend the spot.

Beautiful part of the state, beautiful land, great camping spot. Even late in the dry season, this site is a wonderful getaway. It's tucked into the woods enough to have privacy, then opens up to two running streams that provide all of the beauty that moving water provides. Shelly and Paul were great to get us settled and supported.

We could not ask for a better campsite. Sites were clean and far apart for plenty of privacy. Unfortunately the creeks were dried up since there hasn't been any rain but it was a little too cool for swimming anyway. Michelle met us on arrival and guided us to our site and left us plenty of firewood for our stay. My dog also loved it! Hope to return next summer !

We stayed in the glamping tent, it was our first time ever staying in something like this. We typically either tent camp or stay in a cabin. It was a great location on the scenic byway. It was close to everything we wanted to see and do for a short weekend. The site was clean and the bed was super comfy. The night got cool so we were thankful for the heated bed. Beautiful scenery! Peaceful and relaxing. The creek was low when I was there, so there was a bit of a trick downhill to get to the creek bed. It led to another Creek that had water and deep enough to swim in and also held fish to catch. It was a good time. The Host, Shelly was so helpful and informative about where to go and what to look for. She was a delight. I would definitely go back!

My stay at Creekside was fantastic. Shelly is very friendly and ready to help should you need anything. The site was clean and comfortable, but best of all of all was its proximity to the creek! It was just a short walk from the edge of campsite, giving easy access for swimming, wading, or a big open sky to watch the stars.
I was fortunate to have come when there few other guests, so it was extremely peaceful. The sites are well spaced and off a sparsely traveled county road. This is a great place for those who like basic camping, with a few basic amenities available. There is a simple shower (with hot water), well water, outhouse/johnny, and ice and firewood is available should you need it.
All in all, this was a great place to stay and I would definitely do so again sometime. Thank you, Shelly!

This rustic retreat is an outdoors enthusiast dream. We chose a more private primative site with a fire ring and picnic table. It had plenty of shade from nearby trees and was a long a dry wet weather creek. We enjoyed the simplicity, peace and beauty this place had to offer. The grounds were clean and well-maintained. I should note that there were also electric sites available and a shower house, a pit toilet and potable water access near our site, which was a welcome convenience. The campground's location is ideal for exploring the surrounding area. There are several scenic sxs trails accessible from the campground, offering opportunities to immerse oneself in the natural beauty of the area. We also took advantage of the nearby creek, and the beautiful Black River which were both perfect for wading, swimming and enjoying the cool refreshing water. Shelley is lovely and was quick to respond to any questions. She even sent a friend who offered to show us around on the trails for the day. We had an amazing time. I highly recommend the Four Creeks Campground.

The host were very friendly and helpful. We had everything we needed right there at the campsite. Catching smallmouth in the creek was anwesome and we put them all back for future fishermen. It was a short drive to Johnson Shut-ins one day and the Current river another day. We had a great stay!

Michelle and Paul's land was a simple, well thought out area that provided everything our group needed for a multi-day stay on what was the hottest weekend of the Summer so far!
I unfortunately had to leave early, but the rest of our group was able to stay and enjoy the sights in the area as well as at the campground itself. The creek was beautiful, with crystal clear waters and tons of little critters for kiddos (and kids at heart) to find. The reviews are correct that rock hounding was also a solid 10/10 here!
Michelle greeted us upon arrival, and had been kind enough to move us to a spot in the shade so that we didn't have to worry about fighting the heat even more. Her directions were spot on, and she was always available either through text, or as she rode around checking on her guests. Amenities such as the bathrooms and shower were simple, which is to be expected when you take the camping route. We were simply happy to have them available!! Lots of enjoyable wildlife, good people, stunning sights, and good memories to be made. We would be happy to stay again! (when it's not 115° index 😅)

We reserved the entire Williams camp for float trip group and it worked great! Had 4 campers setup and half dozen tents. Water and electric worked great also! Floated the eleven point river with Hufstedlars outfit. They were able to pickup/dropoff at our location, which is clutch, nobody had to drive after the float. It was really nice to have a place for our group all by ourselves, very secluded but still easily accessible. Phone service was 50/50 for some of us, but personally my phone worked well the entire time while at the campsite. You are definitely in the woods, so be ready with the bug spray and tick prevention. Overall, my group of 18 had a great experience here, we would def reserve this again when we come back to the 11pt River.

Ozark National Scenic Riverways
Spend your days exploring the best of the Ozarks along the shores of the Jacks Fork and Current Rivers. Then, sleep under the stars, which shine even brighter in this remote region. The National Park Service operates several campgrounds across this 80,000-acre unit, with a mix of electric and non-electric sites. Some are suitable for tents only, while others can accommodate RVs. Alley Spring and Big Spring are home to the largest, most developed parks. Primitive and backcountry camping sites are also available.
Mark Twain National Forest
If you haven’t had your fill of rivers, head to the Eleven Point/Doniphan Ranger Unit of Missouri’s Mark Twain National Forest, where you’ll find the Eleven Point National Scenic River. With undeveloped shorelines, this river provides scenic serenity for paddlers and anglers. Van Buren, Missouri
Van Buren is a hub of activity and camping in southern Missouri, located 40 miles north of Doniphan. Big Spring, one of the largest in the U.S., is a must-see, with dazzling blue waters feeding into the Current River. Public camping can be found on National Park Service, Army Corps of Engineers, and national forest lands. When to go
Summer is when the action is at its highest, as Doniphan’s float trip season kicks into high gear. The waterways are at their busiest, bursting with tubes, canoes, and kayaks, and yet, there is still solitude to be found. The spring-fed rivers provide a refreshing break from the heat and humidity. Though the water isn’t as inviting in spring and fall, the weather is, with moderate temperatures and scenic opportunities for leaf-peeping in the Ozarks hills. A hush falls across the region in winter, as cold temperatures and occasional snows descend.
