Excellent local pizza place close by, gas station next door open 24 hours. Beautiful green space available for walking pets and relaxing. Train does go by at night, but rarely uses horn. Gas station and highway noise can be heard. Management on site and on call 24/7.

It wasn't until I came to the Ozarks that I realized that it was nature that was missing from my life. It's been a long road to normalcy, the land was trashed when I got it and needed to be cleaned. Every structure on the land was build, at least in part, by me. It's rustic to say the least but it's definitely a unique experience.Learn more about this land:This is a quaint off-grid homestead. Living here is a lot like camping. It's located in the beautiful rolling hills of the Ozarks where there are plenty of stars at night and sounds of the birds and frogs always in the air. There is a great little platform in the wooded area of my property where you can set your tent up. You are also welcome to stay a little closer to the 'people area' and partake in daily activities on the farm. We are always doing something fun, sometimes it's using earthen plaster other times it's building with mud. We have an outdoor shower available in the summer. Composting toilet. Wood cookstove. Rent out my quiet, secluded cabin nestled on 20 acres in the Ozark Mountains for the eclipse. This tranquil retreat features moss-covered walking trails leading to a natural spring.
Enjoy the comforts of our 3-bedroom, 1-bath cabin with a wrap-around porch. The porch includes an outdoor dining area with lighting, a Big Green Egg, barbecue grill, smoker, bistro table, rocking chairs, and torches. Just off the porch, you'll find a fire pit with a swing and additional rocking chairs.
As a bonus, we have a one-room bunkhouse with a king-size bed and refrigerator. While it has electricity, it does not have running water.
Additionally, we offer an oversized 4-acre yard for tents, providing ample space for guests.
Explore the trails to the natural spring (0.4 miles) or take a more adventurous 2-mile hike to the Jacks Fork River. Local establishments offer canoe and kayak rentals, allowing you to enjoy several hours or days floating down the Jacks Fork River.

Twinbridges View Campsite

We are directly in the path of the Solar Eclipse occuring on April 8th 2024.
The site is the location of the former Missouri Highway Department Twinbridges Roadside Park now privately owned. The entry is a paved road and accessible in most weather conditions, it is a U shaped drive that sits on a knoll above the highways, it is accessible from both highways 14 and 181. The site has several fairly level spots where RV's can be parked and the site will accomidate up to 3 wheeled RV's or campers depending on size and arrangement. There is also room for several vehicles to park. We will mow the old roadside park area prior to your arrival and you may place your RV's and tents anywhere on the mowed area you wish.
This property is located at the east juction of Missori Highways 14 and 181 and is directly across the highway from Twinbridges Canoe Rental and Resort (which is not part of this property and use of the resort's ammenities is not included in your rental fee).
Included on the property there is a gravel access road to a large gravel bar directly on the banks of Spring Creek adjacent to the Spring Creek bridge. This road is steep and rough and 4WD vehicles are highly recommended to access the gravel bar, but access to the creek once at the bottom is flat and fairly level with a nice hole of water directly above the gravel bar.
Camping on gravel bar is permitted but you must be sure your vehicle is equiped to get in and out. Recovery of vehicles which cannot navigate the steep road will be quite costly and access is soley at your own risk. Additionally the gravel bar is subject to severe flooding even with only a couple inches of rain.
Spring Creek is cold as there is a large spring named Big Spring about 1 1/2 miles upstream. The creek provides great fishing for smallmouth bass, sunfish, catfish and several large Rainbow Trout have been caught out of this water hole. From the gravel bar you can lauch canoes and kayaks and float downstream to where Spring Creek joins the North Fork of the White River about 2 miles below the bridge. Those who wish to float this small stream should be aware that this is a small tributary to the river and may require dragging your boat over trees and through shallow water. Also during periods of high water it may be quite fast and challenging requiring only experienced paddlers attempt the float.
The property is situated between the Spring Creek Highway 14 bridge on the east and North Fork River Highway 14 bridge on the west it is boundried by the Highway 181 Right-of-Way on the west, the Highway 14 Right-of Way on the south (the center of the bridge deck is the south property line on the gravel bar), the center thread of Spring Creek is the east property boundry and the north property boundry is marked by a metal fence post driven in the east powerline Right-of-Way about 2/3 of the way up the hill which is situated between Highway 181 and Spring Creek. The hike up to the top of the north property boundry provides a beautiful view of both the bridges and the creek and river valley below. There are several tall bluff overlooks from the north property line as well.
