This property was once part of an 80 acre farm. It has now grown into a mature forest with deer, turkey, squirrels, chipmunks, many types of songbirds and most recently a family of sandhill cranes. Our most recent improvement is an air conditioner in the Crow's Nest. Sheila grew up just across the road and spent many hours riding her horse and writing poetry on the property.

As a retired artist, we love to entertain creative peaceful people and many think of our place as a quiet sanctuary that encourages creativity. We provide games, both outdoor and indoor, a screen house, hammock, nature trails and a new camp store with local items and snacks. There is an Amish community close by and a tour map is provided. We are also close to the largest canopy walk in the US at Whiting Forest and Dow Gardens. Only 25 minutes away. There is a small water park in the closest town with a beach. Locally there is tubing and canoeing at the Cedar River in Gladwin and kayaking at Pinconning Park on Saginaw Bay. Guests can explore many antique shops as well as Pinconna and Northwoods Outlet store. Many of our campers never leave the property but choose to relax and watch the life of the forest.

14 ft pop-up camper
with a trailer larger than 14’ or 9’ tall !!! We pulled into B-Mo’s with our 14’ enclosed trailer and full sized truck. It was tight getting in but plenty of room to move around on the campsite. The only viable option for us is site 2.
Brian was awesome and helped hold back a few pines while we got back to the campsite. He even cleared some out to make our exit easier.
Each site has a composting toilet that is really clean and convenient.
There are several good trails to walk naked on and enjoy nature.
Marathon Twp park is 4.4 miles away. We went there and used the electric outlets in the shelter to recharge our EcoFlow batteries. It’s a great place to catch the Southern Links Trailway, a 10 mile paved bike trail that runs from Columbiaville, home of The Mansion, serving great coffee and ice cream, through Otter Lake (get a burger at the tavern) and ends in Millington (home of McPherson’s Family Restaurant).
Brian was a great host. He had us a bundle of firewood ready when we arrived. He gladly delivered more the next day at our request.
There was a hook and pulley at our campsite for the solar shower, a welcome addition to our stay.
We walked the campsite several times and hardly saw the other campers. The campsites are secluded from each other and privacy signs can be strung across the trail to prevent unwanted visitors.
We will be back! Thank you Brian and Mo for sharing your space with us!

The property was quiet and calm, having the animals was a fun distraction and entertaining in a calm way (I am not one for animals). The trails made it nice to walk along, talk or pray. The sounds of nature and very few sounds of traffic made this place a great experience. Kim was super hospitable and answered all my questions before and during our stay. We had the chance to kayak down the water which was relaxing as we saw several turtles. Though the property is wetlands, there were so few mosquitoes, maybe 5 the whole three days. They have done a great job preserving nature, while making it something to enjoy.

We absolutely loved our stay at the cabin. My son, daughter in law and grandbaby enjoyed hours watching the turtles and fish, walking the trails and meeting the farm animals while learning about Elysiums history. Will always remember morning coffee on the porch, baby's first campfire and playing Frisbee behind the cabin. We hope to return next year!

What an incredible piece of Earth Elysium is!! Kim and Jeff have done an amazing job preserving the natural landscape to provide visitors with not just a beautiful farm to escape to, but also a fun and intimate experience. Kayaking the canal to the cabin in the woods was my favorite activity, followed closely by everything else! We loved exploring the grounds and encountering all of the residents...goats 1 thru 9 and the emus, Macaroni and Tuna Patty (names we gave them for the weekend), as well as the ducks and chickens and rabbits and the pigeons and the baby cats! I enjoyed talking to Kim and learning a little about how Elysium came to be. Thank you so much for sharing your piece of the world with us- we will be back!

This is my second time staying at this awesome campsite during this season. It’s 15 minutes to Port Austin/Lake Huron marina, Murphys Bakery and outdoor shops and restaurant. The marina is also the launch site for boat tours to Turnip Rock.
The property is just off the main road, sites have grass fairly level parking, fire pit and firewood, a clothesline, a nearby Porta potty and access to water & electricity.
It’s an older but well maintained property with lots of shade trees, picnic table, gardens, fruit trees, turkeys, geese, rabbits, lots of squirrels (for my dog’s entertainment and host’s dog, Duke.
Theresa, the Host, is very friendly and helpful but is non intrusive. She is knowledgeable and shared highlights of the area and was readily available both stays.
I will definitely camp at her place again and highly recommended it!

We really enjoyed our stay at this property. It was incredibly private and peaceful—the perfect place to relax and unwind. Kim’s attention to detail was exceptional, and she went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable throughout our stay.
We purchased a rack of firewood, and it was an excellent value. We also spent time exploring the well-maintained trails throughout the property, which added even more to the experience.
We would definitely stay here again and look forward to spending even more time on this beautiful property. Highly recommended!

Rob was an exceptional host. He was quick to respond and also reached out when he wasn’t certain if he would be back before we arrived. He made sure to stop by our site to check if anything was needed. The directions were clear and simple to follow just look for the white building near the road and driveway. Google Maps wants to have you turn in the drive before his. The area was very quiet and I even got to see a deer in the field in the morning. His site is about a 10 minute drive to Frankenmuth Definitely recommend!
