Welcome to the Hemlock Ridge Homestead! This custom log home built in the early 2000's was a dream of mine since I was 8 years old. Our family lives here year round and absolutely love it. These sites are on a seasonal road so travel in and out can be impeded at times due to weather or external forces, such as tree falls, wash outs, etc. This is a self sufficient homestead in the making. Our garden has progressed greatly, and our fruit tree orchards are starting to produce. The free range chickens are fun and quirky, offering farm fresh eggs. We just opened our second site, the Prairieview Chalet 2024 summer. Both sites offer great amenities. The Acorn Retreat cabin includes a hot tub, gas weber grill and other amenities. The boujee outhouse is shared by both sites and is cleaned regularly.
The new Prairieview Chalet is an exceptional adventurers haven! It has all the things you want after a day(s) out in the wilderness, with amenities like a hot shower, fully stocked kitchen, linens and more.
Our property reflects our love of the land and space. We are always making improvements, such as the timber framed chicken coop. We now have a ping pong table for our guests, and still offer farm fresh eggs.
Our motto is to make every place better than we found it and hope our guests will do the same.

Bedroom 1 has queen bed with a sliding barn door, bedroom 2 also has a queen bed with sliding barn door. This home has a beautiful view overlooking Furnace Lake but does not have lake access. This home was recently built in 2023/2024 from a couple tiny homes that we combined and added on to. Since we are located in Christmas, it is decorated all year with snowmen :)
You’ll love the serenity and the privacy of this home, yet how close you are to area attractions such as Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore, Grand Island, waterfalls, hiking trails, beaches, etc. It has a beautiful view overlooking Furnace Lake. You are less than a mile from state snowmobile and ATV trails. We are dog-friendly and allow up to 2 dogs with preapproval and $75 non-refundable pet fee.
You have full exclusive access to home and yard. Unfortunately, there is no lake access with the home, but it does have a great view of the lake.
We are available by text, through booking message center or phone if you have any questions before or during your stay.
Our home is less than a mile from the casino in Christmas, Foggy’s Steakhouse, and a gas station. You are only about 5 miles from downtown Munising, where there are Pictured Rocks Cruises, Glass Bottom Boat Tours, Sand Point Beach, waterfalls, etc. In Munising, there is a grocery store (Pat’s Foods), Family Dollar, a couple of hardware stores, and numerous restaurants.
There is room to bring a boat if you have one and there is public access to Lake Superior within 5 miles of home. There is also room to bring snowmobile/ATV trailers, and then you can ride from the home to hit the trails.
**Signed rental agreement and security deposit hold required for all reservations. The primary guest will need to upload a picture of a government-issued ID and list names and ages of all other guests in their group.
**There are 2 exterior audio/video recording devices on the property. One faces the front door of the home with the driveway, and the other faces the back door. They are motion-activated and on 24/7/365.
Guests have full access to the home other than the locked maid closet in living room.

Pictured Rocks Family Rentals welcomes you to Rudolph’s Cabin! This recently remodeled home offers 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. The master bedroom has a king log bed and private master bath with tub/shower and a double sink. The second bedroom can either be 2 separate twin XL beds or we can make it into a king bed for you. This home has a nice entry way with plenty of room to store your gear. We are conveniently located right on M28, about 1/4 mile west of Foggy’s Steakhouse and next to the entrance of Pictured Rocks RV & Campground. You can ride right from the home to miles and miles of groomed snowmobile trails in the winter or ORV trails in the summer. There’s plenty of room to park trucks and trailers for bringing your toys up. Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore begins in Munising, which is only about 5 miles east of the home.
Our home was recently gutted down to the studs and completely remodeled. We opened up the living room/kitchen area and added a bathroom and brought the washer and dryer up to the main level. There’s a brand new 65” Roku TV in the living room and we have fiber optic wireless internet. We also added a tankless hot water heater so everybody gets a hot shower! We supply a crock pot, blender, drip coffee maker, and all the necessities to cook a meal at home. There’s a nice, large foyer with a bench and a shelf with hooks with plenty of room to store all your coats, bibs, helmets, boots, etc.

1 night at Hemlock Ridge Homestead
We enjoyed it here very much. I was a little suprised to see the main house so close to the site but it didnt matter. The hot tub was really relaxing after a day of excitement. The outhouse was cute and clean. The beds were comfy and the whole place had a great vibe. Loved the dogs, loved the chickens and the hosts. Would recommend.

Everything about this place suited our needs. Peace and quiet. Far away but close to town. HOT TUB! Super clean. And a very cool host. Little tricky to find at first. But what a spot. Close to trails. Quaint. Lovely. You get the point.

Such a fun and quaint little place in the woods. I stayed with my two young daughters on our way through town. We loved the hot tub and the quaintness of being in a tiny little cabin together. Close enough to town, but also far enough away. The host was great and extremely accommodating.

Weekend Trip to Hemlock Ridge Homestead
The Acorn retreat is such a memorable getaway from the daily routine. My best friend and I were up in the area for a ski/board trip and I’m convinced there’s no better place to stay than here. From the acorn retreat, to the tiny home, and the entire homestead itself, you find yourself inspired and soothed to everything this place has to offer and the warm welcoming and conversations with April and her amazing family. I will always highly recommend this place to anyone who’s looking for a great and relaxing time. I’ve personally been here once in the fall and once in the winter and this place was jaw dropping each time and will continue to be for future visits. April is an amazing host, goes above and beyond for her guest, has amazing recommendations for the area and will help you in any way they can. We’re all looking forward to coming back and taking in this beautiful place that April’s family have created many more times.

Group trip
This property is tucked away in the woods but close enough to run into town. We had zero issues finding the place. It’s a really cute property. Hot tub was used a couple times. Little conveniences were provided within the cabin and facilities ☺️. We used microwave and hot plate for cooking. A grill was available. There were four of us adult women for a girls getaway. No issues fitting in the space.
