Norm's Log Cabin started out as a back 40 acre camp from the 1970's. Hunting is not Allowed on Property. Over the years we have taken time to make some improvements. We have acquire additional adjoining property and run some electricity. We have pieced together 160 contiguous acres over the years, and continue to manage the property as a family gathering location as well as doing some occasional log harvesting. This is the place to get away from it all, but still be in striking distance to several attractions. A full service restaurant in La Branch which is a short 12 minute drive SE, and a local hang out called the Red Arrow which is a 5 minute drive NW. The Cabin sits at the end of a long 1/4 mile driveway in the middle of the 160 acre plot of trees. You need to cross Anderson Creek, and drive past another hunting camp near the front entrance. This front 40 acre camp (Anderson Creek Camp) is another more rustic option then Norm's Log Cabin. The road leading to this driveway off of Highway 69 is near the village of Hardwood. Along Highway 69 is a snowmobile/ORV trail managed by the Michigan Department of Natural Resources and can be easily reached via the gravel road to/from camp. That specific trail is designated as A, and runs the length of Highway 69 and intersects ORV trail AG which would bring you into Escanaba. There is many and frequent ORV activity on this trail, and there are many stopping points for refreshments along the way. Hardwood Impoundment Pond is the closest body of water to Norm's Log Cabin, and can be reached by car or ATV. This impoundment pond is really the back waters of a local dam in the area, and can be fished from the bank or off the bridge that goes across the area. Very easily reachable. Again this is just a place to get away from it all and take in the outdoors. We can supply some ideas of places to visit . . .

Lovely cottage on Autrain Lake near all of the sites to see in the area. Currently offered as B&B in our main cabin but homeowner will be in separate quarters. You will be in a private cabin. There are three bedroom areas upstairs with a full modern bath. One room Full bed, One room Queen bed, and the third is an open area with a privacy curtain and sitting area as well as a King bed. The living area has light seating area with a twin pull out loveseat, and two recliners. We have kayaks available for use. A small dock. There is some erosion on the bank we are currently working on but no beach, its in the process. Pets are allowed but please do not allow off leash or out of small fenced in area. All pet owners must clean up after your pets outside and if you leave for the day you are responsible for them. I recommend kennel trained as they act completely different and strange place. Ours are the same. Owner is around but can not watch pets as we work full time. I can check for a local teen to provide day care if requested. Breakfast foods will be supplied but there will no cooking provided. If you have special requests for breakfast foods please forward that information one week prior to arrival. The space During the summer, our cottage goes from Saturday to Saturday (not required to stay all 7-days). We are adding central air conditioning to the home for the summer of 2021. The second bedroom here is a little odd. It used to be a jacuzzi tub room. The jacuzzi tub was removed, and now there is a bed in there. The room still has a toilet and sink in it. We have added a curtain to block the toilet view from the bed. While it is unusual, we think it is worth keeping to have an extra lavatory for larger groups. The home has a beautiful view (especially for evening sunsets!) overlooking Furnace Lake and is very quiet and peaceful. We hope you enjoy it as much as we do :) Up to 2 dogs are allowed with preapproval, but there is a $75 non-refundable pet fee that will need to be added. Bedroom 1 has queen bed with a sliding barn door, bedroom 2 also has a queen bed with sliding barn door. This home has a beautiful view overlooking Furnace Lake but does not have lake access. This home was recently built in 2023/2024 from a couple tiny homes that we combined and added on to. Since we are located in Christmas, it is decorated all year with snowmen :) You’ll love the serenity and the privacy of this home, yet how close you are to area attractions such as Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore, Grand Island, waterfalls, hiking trails, beaches, etc. It has a beautiful view overlooking Furnace Lake. You are less than a mile from state snowmobile and ATV trails. We are dog-friendly and allow up to 2 dogs with preapproval and $75 non-refundable pet fee. You have full exclusive access to home and yard. Unfortunately, there is no lake access with the home, but it does have a great view of the lake. We are available by text, through booking message center or phone if you have any questions before or during your stay. Our home is less than a mile from the casino in Christmas, Foggy’s Steakhouse, and a gas station. You are only about 5 miles from downtown Munising, where there are Pictured Rocks Cruises, Glass Bottom Boat Tours, Sand Point Beach, waterfalls, etc. In Munising, there is a grocery store (Pat’s Foods), Family Dollar, a couple of hardware stores, and numerous restaurants. There is room to bring a boat if you have one and there is public access to Lake Superior within 5 miles of home. There is also room to bring snowmobile/ATV trailers, and then you can ride from the home to hit the trails. **Signed rental agreement and security deposit hold required for all reservations. The primary guest will need to upload a picture of a government-issued ID and list names and ages of all other guests in their group. **There are 2 exterior audio/video recording devices on the property. One faces the front door of the home with the driveway, and the other faces the back door. They are motion-activated and on 24/7/365. Guests have full access to the home other than the locked maid closet in living room.

Home is conveniently located less than 5 miles from Munising, the beginning of Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore. It also is about 2 blocks from the area ORV/snowmobile trailhead and walking distance to Kewadin Casino, Sunoco gas station, and Foggy’s Steakhouse. Home offers a 1 car attached heated garage and large backyard. The space Bedroom 1 with a king bed is on the main floor next to a bathroom. Bedroom 2 is in the basement with a queen bed and 2 single beds. Basement also has an additional family room with a set of bunk beds in it and a futon. Main level living room has a twin sofa sleeper available also. Both living rooms and the kitchen area have a TV with Roku and complimentary Netflix and Amazon subscriptions. There is no cable or local channels, but there is fast, fiber-optic internet service. Home has 2 full bathrooms, and an on-demand tankless water heater, so everyone gets a hot shower :) We do allow up to 2 dogs, but there will be a $75 non-refundable pet fee if approved. Please check if your furry friend is allowed. The backyard is not fenced in, so dogs must be on a leash when taken outside. There is a scoopers and baggies in the garage to clean up after your pet. It is conveniently located right off M28 in Christmas, less than 5 miles from downtown Munising, the beginning of the Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore. There are 2 bedrooms and 1.5 baths. Our cottage offers 1 king bed, 1 queen bed, and 2 full beds. Come up to enjoy Pictured Rocks & numerous waterfalls in the area. Only 2 blocks from Christmas ORV/snowmobile trailhead. The space During the summer, our cottage goes from Saturday to Saturday (not required to stay all 7-days). We are adding central air conditioning to the home for the summer of 2021. The second bedroom here is a little odd. It used to be a jacuzzi tub room. The jacuzzi tub was removed, and now there is a bed in there. The room still has a toilet and sink in it. We have added a curtain to block the toilet view from the bed. While it is unusual, we think it is worth keeping to have an extra lavatory for larger groups. The home has a beautiful view (especially for evening sunsets!) overlooking Furnace Lake and is very quiet and peaceful. We hope you enjoy it as much as we do :) Up to 2 dogs are allowed with preapproval, but there is a $75 non-refundable pet fee that will need to be added. Guest access Guests have full access to the home, garage, red outbuilding next to the garage, and yard. The red outbuilding near the road is not available to guests.

The space You’ll love the serenity and the privacy of this home, yet how close you are to area attractions such as Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore, Grand Island, waterfalls, hiking trails, beaches, etc. You are also only about 1 mile from state snowmobile and ATV trails. No pets allowed. Summer weekly rentals are from Saturday to Saturday only. The heated pool will be open from Memorial Day to Labor Day. RV was clean and very well stocked on the inside. Interior looked brand new, and the campsite overlooked a pretty meadow surrounded by trees. Cute S'Mores bucket inside with everything you'd need. Convenient location, was able to do an evening hike to Mosquito Beach from this location. Why stay in a campground and spend thousands of dollars on your own RV when you can just stay here! Highly recommend Captain Ron's for fresh, hand-processed whitefish. Thanks Danielle!

Clean, quiet, private. Everything worked. We were there in the off season so no one else was camping and the campground next door was also quiet. From here did a pictured rocks boat tour, hiked sugarloaf mountain, little presque isle. If it was warmer, the au train river looked like a fun kayak.

We really enjoyed staying on Erin’s land. Ease of in and out, full hook-ups, trees, wildlife, proximity to attractions all added to the appeal of the site. Only the outer two sites were occupied so it felt very spacious. The cool firepit and on-site games provided easy opportunities for relaxation between adventures. We’d absolutely stay here again.

Yvonne’s campsite was wonderful! The bathrooms were clean the spot was spacious with a fire ring and picnic table, as well as the electric ports. We were able to buy plenty of wood for cheap for our campfires. We had a great time. We went fishing in the lake and even though we didn’t catch anything it was still cool even walking in the water and seeing how clear and beautiful it was. A great spot to stargaze at night. The owners were wonderful and seem to be passionate about using their time at Vagabond to give people wonderful memories.

We had a great overnight at Site #1. "Check-in" was easy - we just pulled right in to our site and that was it! We had everything we needed: electricity, water, garbage, wifi (!), and a place to pump out the RV before we left. Site #1 is great, with a neighbor only on one side and a somewhat wooded area on the other. There is a larger campground on the other side of a wood fence, but even on a holiday weekend it wasn't too noisy. Our host Erin sent great communication with recommendations for things to do and an exact pinned location to put in our map - which came in really helpful, since Apple Maps thought the address listed was on the other side of the lake! The only trouble we had was getting the RV leveled on the soft gravel, but that could have also been our own inexperience. A more seasoned RV traveller may have been set up in no time at all.

Full services, clean, nice and spacious campsite suitable for large motorized RV and camping trailers. The property's owner was there to welcome us on the site. About 7 miles west from Munising. I would definitely recommend the Hipcamp campsite and I will likely book this site again next summer.
