Hosting May 22 - mid/Oct My husband Dan and I purchased this property 5 years ago and have totally restored the land, home and barn from its prior condition. Consequently, if you view the various on line satellite images be advised they are out of date and do not reflect the love we have put into our sanctuary. We are retired and live here with our two standard poodles Mila and Indiana.
The property is 5 acres, mostly meadow with a maple grove as well as a wooded ravine. We have planted various fruit trees, cherries, apples, peach as well as pears. We also have a small grape and berry patch which is next to our vintage trailer. There is also an old abandoned trail through the forest that makes for a nice walk.
Our location is convenient to Traverse City, Alden, Belaire, Kalkaska as well as the equestrian center and the casino in Williamsburg. There are various places to eat/drink within close proximity as well as places to purchase fuel, groceries and liquor.
Old Mission and Leelanau peninsulas are a convenient drive where you can visit the many vineyards, orchards and enjoy the beautiful vistas of the lake and bays, or shop some of the unique stores and galleries.
There are many off road vehicle and bike trails that are not far away as well. As well as boating on beautiful Torch Lake and the chain of lakes.
A day trip to Sleeping Bear dunes is well worth the drive.

We currently have three sites which are on seperate areas of the property. Lake View site is a Vintage 1985 Avion travel trailer which as been completely renovated with all new systems. It is located with a western view of Lake Skegemog and next to our grape and berry patch in our back yard. Maple Grove site is a new Coachmen Catalina Destination series RV. It is located on the front side of the property next to the maple tree grove. Lavender Lane is located in front of our barn with a view of our small orchard and the forest, close to the walking trail. All our sites are fully outfitted with quality linens, towels, dishes and cooking equipment. All of the units have Air Conditioned and heat.

We’ve a cute little trailer all set up for two with a large covered deck to enjoy a beverage and listen to the crickets. In the morning take your coffee out on the deck and hear the farm animals begin to wake up. Take a ride into downtown Ludington or a kayak/boat trip down the Pete Marquette or the Manistee rivers.
Spend the day at the beach relaxing, eat ice cream from the House of Flavors or visit the White Pine Village for a historic lesson.
Come back, grill up some dinner and enjoy a beverage with a campfire or watch the tele.

Weekend Trip to HillCrest
Hillcrest (Lake View) has a beautiful view. Chose this for a fall getaway. Great location central to Traverse City (asylum tour) and Boyne Mountain (Skybridge). Hosts are friendly and Avion RV was a cool experience, clean and well-stocked with everything you need. Hope to visit again in the summer to experience Torch Lake, which is very close to this.

Bill & Dan’s place is lovely. While you are obviously staying in a RV, as soon as you walk out the door or look out the window there are beautiful expansive grounds that they have created. Flowers abound, lots of green grass and trees and places to sit in the yard and on the deck. A beautiful hot tub is made available to guests and it was a lovely way to unwind from the day of touring all that the area has to often.. Bill & Dan are great hosts and very accommodating to anything you might need. They pay so much attention to detail that it is quite impressive!
If you are on the tall side, it may be challenging to be in a bed that is shorter than normal size, as the RV designed beds are.
We both enjoyed our stay there and really appreciated how much there is to do in the area. It is centrally located between Traverse City and some of the things to do a little bit east and north, so it’s a great location.
It’s very quiet and peaceful on their property, and it is nice to be away from some of the hustle and bustle of Traverse City.
If you happen to have an EV, there’s an EV charging station 10 minutes away that works really well.
Definitely recommend Bill & Dan‘s place!

Dan and Bill are outstanding hosts and very thoughtful, even giving us robes to use after using the hot tub.
The property is beautiful and in a perfect central area to visit all the local areas.
We would definitely stay again and recommend anyone staying in the area to do so.
We are thinking of bringing friends and renting all 3 of the campers together!

Bill and Dan were exceptional hosts. Arranged a last minute stay in the sweet fully restored avion camper and they were more than accommodating. The yard is well manicured and peaceful. Bill and Dan are a delight to talk with and they shared some knowledge of the surroundings. I would and will stay there again.

Wow. This place is really special. The camper you stay in is really cute, cozy and has a large porch overlooking the woods.
The property itself is beautiful with a creek and trails running through it.
Susan was a great host and even provided us fresh eggs and cucumbers!
10/10 I would definitely stay here again.

I really enjoyed my stay at Susan's camper. She is a thoughtful host and provided us with the freshest cucumbers and eggs. The deck was the perfect spot to sit and watch the rain come in. My dog loved the property, and the air conditioning unit was a welcome relief during the heat of summer. This charming location offers just the right amount of privacy and is stocked with everything you need to enjoy your stay.

This is the cutest quant relaxing place to stay! Bill and Dan are exceptional hosts. They have a beautiful property and made us feel right at home. We originally only booked for one night then quickly changed it to two. I wish we could have stayed there for the whole week. If you’re looking to tour Traverse City, this would be the place to stay. Close to Traverse City but also the quiet life and a trail to hike. They both are very knowledgeable about the area and have lots of recommendations of things to do and see. I believe you won’t find anything better in the area especially the price! This would be a perfect romantic or honeymoon getaway.

This stay was everything we hoped for and more! The peaceful setting, stunning views, and warm, welcoming hosts made our visit truly special.
The RV was perfectly equipped with all the comforts of home—air conditioning, coffee, and even cozy extra blankets for those cooler nights. A true glamping experience.
Every detail felt intentional, from the beautiful glass art to the lovingly maintained gardens. It’s clear that a lot of care has gone into creating such a serene and inviting space.
If you're looking for that classic "up north" experience without being too far from the city, this is the perfect spot. Just 30 minutes from Traverse City and about an hour from Petoskey, it offers the best of both worlds.
We can’t wait to come back!
