This is my first cabin camping in a long time and this place is really nice. The cabin is cozy and offers electricity. We are used to bringing our own supplies for camping and we were relieved to see most essentials were supplied. The hot plate and folding table were great for making meals, along with the fire pit.
I really enjoyed the privacy and and hospitality of the host, who gave us the most delicious potatoes and onion from their garden.
There is a train that comes by, but I'm telling you it is nothing that disturbed our stay.

3 nights at Riverside Hideaway
This was a most wonderful experience on a lovely property hosted by such a kind family. We very much enjoyed our two nights there (even in the cold). The cabin is quaint and had all we needed off the grid to really feel disconnected. We highly recommend this space, land, and family welcoming to all tent campers who once in awhile need a comfort space in inclement weather. A blessed place!

Amazing campsite! Beautiful setting with privacy and tons of space for tents. Easy walk from the parking area. We had such a fun time camping here with friends. It was 100x better than being smushed into a site on campground with limited space and unpreditable neighbors.

We loved the island and La Mar was an amazing host. 5 of us spent a weekend on the island. If you have no experience canoeing, be prepared. Being from NYC, we are inexperienced and it took us an hour to row the mile to the island against the tide. if you can get your own power boat to take you there, it will make life a whole lot easier. definitely a challenge, but it was amazing once we made it. The island is relaxing for a weekend. You also get to do some fishing, though we didn't have much luck in October. also - low tide is really low tide. don't plan on going out until the tide comes in a bit. I would recommend taking lots of firewood and a portable toilet.
I can't say enough about how communicative and accommodating La Mar is. We're already talking about our next trip.

As a quick getaway we booked La Mar’s island. It’s pretty well kept and has a large campfire area overlooking the water. Easy fishing from the island as long as it’s not low tide. Lots of space to camp with multiple tents if desired. You’re able to watch bald eagles and other wildlife, we even saw an otter. The only downfall is you can hear the highway all night long. I would definitely book again for a quick getaway!

Quaint and private location with plenty of easy access to amenities if you run out of/forget something. The immediate area doesn’t have any hiking trails so you’ll want to plan for that elsewhere but we enjoyed staying on the campsite. As others have said the parking lot is across the creek and up a hill so I wouldn’t recommend for folks with mobility issues. We used a beach wagon and had no issues. We purchased the firewood bundle and there was plenty for both nights. I didn’t find the host terribly responsive (he said he would share a map of the grounds and didn’t), but we really didn’t need the communication; getting there is fairly straightforward.

Quiet and peaceful spot all by it's self. Easy to find and back into. There are lots of deer and you will have horses for neighbors :) I stayed a couple nights here as I was hiking near by. There are 3 other Hipcamp sites on the property and even with all of them booked, it was still very quiet. I would stay again if were in the area. Thanks for having us!

It was a wonderful experience. We went there to spend the weekend and we absolutely loved it. The island was very well maintained and had enough privacy. Even though we could hear the highway noise it didnt bother us much. And being a bird watcher myself, i was overjoyed by seeing the wildlife around this area including ospreys and bald eagles.We spent entire day fishing in kayak and photographing birds. And LaMar was awesome host and was very responsive. He went above and beyond to help us with the trip. Would love to come back !

We stayed at Ewe View for a search and rescue K9 training event nearby. It was quiet nicely groomed and the animals were very friendly with our dogs and visa versa. I had my own portable bathroom in my compact trailer but the people that stayed with me said the porta john on site was rather dirty with maggots! I would visit again
