David purchased the property from his parents and built the log cabin, sauna and privy with good friends who also constructed the Rope Bridge. Linda came along in 2000 and moved in with her dog. David was just finishing up a bedroom addition to the cabin, just in time! We got married on the property in 2002. Our family gathers together a lot throughout the summers and we have a ski commute to our vehicles during the winter. We love to share our cabin with those of like mind. This spot was perfect. Private, on the river, peaceful, beautiful. Very dog and people friendly. We have a campervan and were able to fit right in. Even though we were on the river there were few mosquitoes. We were well directed to town to a great brewery with wood fired pizza. Yum! Neat area, but we were just passing through. Will stop by again if we’re in the area.

Beautiful spot! We stayed over the July 4th weekend 2025. Had the place to ourselves. Camping spot #1 has a creek the feeds into the Fish River, right at the campsite. Amazing natural background noise. Saw tons of wildlife--Lynx appeared immediately upon our arrival! Bald eagles, deer, frogs and other amazing birds we haven't seen before.
The Fish River was warm enough to wade and fly fish in shorts and sandals.
We had heavy rainfall on the first night and Becky offered to move us up to a spot with tree cover. Really declined but greatly appreciated the gesture.
It's a bit of a trek to Fort Kent but it was exactly what we were hoping for once we got there.
Highly recommend!
