Weekend Trip to Kinner Kamping

The friends theme was amazing. It was such an amazing experience. Bathroom and shower situation was unique for sure but doable. It was great watching the friends DVDs there

Terrapin Hill was delightful. Brenda and Pete were wonderful hosts, and the land offered quiet spots and rolling trails. It's close to Shaker Village and lots of other sites.

We loved the Friends camper! Everything was well thought out! They even had the friends episodes on DVD and we watched them as we snuggled in for the night! The outside is adorable and has the cutest little lights. They have card games that are friends themed as well! Every detail was perfect for the theme! The only thing that would have made it better would have been a tiny microwave! The hosts are the absolute sweetest people and we would rent from them anytime!

7 nights at HomeGrown HideAways

We camped here for two weeks and were sad to leave. Jessa and Nathan made us feel very at home, tucked away in this precious holler. We enjoyed the silence of the night, the fog in the morning, the creek near our campsite, and the incredible hike right on property. We stayed in our 30 foot converted school bus in one of their RV back in sites. We were able to park quite easily, and there was plenty of space to maneuver the bus into the spot. The sites were level with gravel. The creek was actually quite warm to swim in. Our starlink internet worked well! Nathan and Jessa were friendly and quick to respond to any of our messages through Hipcamp. They were happy to share any cool things about the property or the town of Berea. They were respectful of our privacy and also made great company while using the kitchen in the community space. We had a fun time in the moments connecting with them over their garden and chickens. We certainly intend to be back. We really liked the community aspect of their property, encouraging people to connect. We also liked that they had their own products for sale at a reasonable price. We enjoyed everything from their eggs, asparagus, to things like apple butter and fresh garlic powder; all from their own land. We appreciated their complementary springwater. Their generosity and kind hearts truly made this beautiful holler a gem you are going to want to visit. Thank you for such a great experience. We hope to cross paths again!

Weekend Trip to The Harrican Lakehouse

This was my second visit, and I was planning my third before even leaving! We absolutely love this spot! Plenty of privacy, it’s romantic but could also be kid friendly if needed. The house is decorated so nicely! The a/c works amazing!

Beautiful property and great hosts. Outhouse was clean and comfortable. Great location close to ton of hiking and adventuring options. Also, the pinball arcade in Corbin is close by and worth a visit. Look forward to staying again soon!

2 nights at The Harrican Lakehouse

Bridgett's Lakehouse was amazing! We loved everything about it. We were able to hike, find a water fall, enjoy some campfires, fish, and plenty of family time. The lakehouse was very cozy and perfect for our family of four (plus our dog). My kids definitely didn't want to leave after 2 days there. Would highly recommend visiting! Hopefully we'll be able to return in the summer sometime when we can go swim in the lake!

Warning: Be prepared to be AMAZED by the property that surrounds the lakehouse!!! My friends and I had a WONDERFUL time! Bridgett is very sweet and personable. The house is decorated beautifully and the outdoor area is perfect for hanging out for the duration of your trip!!! I will be back Bridgett and thank you for sharing your sweet piece of land with the community❤️

1 night at Punkin Hollow Resort

I had a great time visiting on a solo trip with my dog! Everything was clean and enjoyable, and the creeks are pretty to walk along. If you're visiting in March/April, make sure to look at upcoming weather for potential storms. We got caught in an overnight thunderstorm, which made the creek water rise and was not passable for my low car (Ford Fusion Hybrid). We ended up having to stay an extra night, but it all worked out well! The host was understanding, a fellow camper shared their food, and Jon was responsive and super helpful! We would definitely visit again.

Come see for your yourself and be our guest at The Harrican! Learn more about this land: Unplug and unwind at this two story cabin built right on the water in the heart of the Kentucky Wildlands! Even though there is complete peaceful seclusion it does get a little noisy when the bullfrogs start their evening ritual. There is a dock and pier perfect for fishing or swimming. Firepit, grill with gas provided, two boats, fishing poles, lots of seating on the wrap around porch, two bedrooms; one with a queen bed and the other with two twin beds and just lots of natural beauty and peace! The BIG update everyone has been waiting for; the plumbing and electricity are now complete! We have all the ammenities to make your stay comfoetable and relaxing! HomeGrown HideAways is a farm, lodging, and event facility nestled in a hundred-acre holler in the Appalachian foothills near Berea, Ky. Our lodging features treehouses, yurts, a bunkhouse, retro camper, water/electric hook-ups, and campsites. We also host weddings, retreats, and other events so advance reservations are required. For insurance purposes and the safety of our own livestock and pets, we do not allow guests to bring their pets/ESAs onto the property. Prepare to UNPLUG as we do not have cell service or wifi (there IS a landline for guests to make phone calls located in the Community Farmhouse). All guests from tent to treehouse have access to our solar-powered Community Farmhouse featuring a fully-stocked chef-inspired kitchen, restrooms, coin-op laundry, and upstairs multi-purpose room with a library and board games. There is also an outdoor kitchen area with additional cooking space including a grill, microwave, and sink (sink is closed in the winter so the pipes don’t freeze). Next to the Farmhouse is a massive pavilion with picnic tables for al fresco dining and firewood bundles to purchase. BRING CASH! Our seasonal bath house is generally open from April or May to October or November based on the prevailing temps. There are 4 flush toilets, 2 sinks, and 2 hot showers. The floors are concrete so we recommend shower shoes and you'll want to bring your own towels and shampoo/soap. The farm has a small playground, yard games, creeks, and a steep and rugged hiking trail that loops the mountain. We're also just 8 miles from the hiking trails at the Berea College Pinnacles, 8 miles to Owsley Fork Reservoir, 20 minutes to Anglin Falls, 12 miles to Berea, 35 minutes to Richmond, Ky, and a scenic hour to Red River Gorge. For other activities, restaurants, shopping, music, and more, we're happy to share our favorites, but highly recommend checking out the Berea Tourism website.
