A hidden gem in Topeka, KS. Roughly 44 acres and 41 buildings and cabins for your stay. We have a creek that runs through the property and you can bring your kayak or fishing poles. We also have roughly 3 miles of wooded trails for you to explore. There is a playground for the kids to play on, a basketball court, and a sand volleyball pit. This is very camp at the lake style. Bedding is not included for camp bunk beds. Cabins do not have restrooms built in, but we have shower houses on site for you to use. They do have electricity, heat, and air conditioning. Located in rural Kansas, 12 miles south of Topeka along the path of the Santa Fe Trail. This camping spot will make you feel like you're one with nature and is within driving distance to quality shopping and entertainment. Pop up your tent or park right next to the private pond. Sites are hidden from the road and secluded. However, we do live on the edge of the railway so the train will make an appearance during your stay. Whether it's a spot to crash before and after a day of skiing, taking a road trip, or simply shaking off cabin fever, this is the spot for you. The pond has a dock to sit on as you watch the sunrise. Bring your fishing gear and cast a line into our well-stocked pond. A table, fire rings, wood, and a smoker grill for cooking are provided for your use. Enjoy a day of fishing or strolling the property and finish off a relaxing day by watching the sunset by the fire. Camping is primitive with no shower facilities. Absolutely amazing site! Steven went above and beyond my expectations. We showed up with 4 kids between the ages of 5 and 12, and he pulled no stops entertaining them, including walking his horse down to our campsite for the kids to pet. Be sure to ask him what his record is with the ax throwing!!!😉😆 we will definitely be returning.

Easy to get to off the highway for a one night stay and then back on the road. The host greeted us kindly when we arrived and we parked in the tent area. We car camped in the back of our SUV. The toilet was a little far to walk, especially in the middle of the night for me and my child. maybe they can add one closer? It was a peaceful and idyllic and we saw fireflies.

This property was beautiful. Big huge sites right by the water with plenty of good shade trees. My kids loved visiting all the farm animals and playing on the swings. The fishing was pretty good. We caught several fish and a couple turtles. It was just a nice peaceful campground without a ton of neighbors. We’ll be back for sure

We had an amazing weekend camping at Lake Georgia-Sue, staying at Tom’s Meadow campsite. The whole experience was wonderful. Our kids especially loved all the animals (goats, horses, and even a pig!). We spent our days kayaking, paddle boarding, fishing, and enjoying campfires in the evenings. The clubhouse was just a short walk away and had everything we needed. Fred was a fantastic host, super helpful and welcoming. We absolutely plan to come back and hope to make this a family tradition!

Our stay was fantastic. The Fisherman's Cove site we were at had a really great view over the water. The host was welcoming and gave us a tour when we arrived and told us about all the animals and other property information and some history. There was plenty of space on the property, and the laid back slow paced vibe was excellent. And we were close enough to town to run in and get a few things we needed for the weekend.
The only downside is it's near railroad tracks. It wasn't a problem for us, but if you're particularly sensitive to sound, you might not enjoy the trains.

We had such a great time camping at The Hitching Post! Steve was a friendly, helpful host who was more than happy to answer any questions we had and made sure that we felt welcome and comfortable and that we had the best camping experience possible. He even played a few rounds of disc golf with us at the course on-site!
One of the most unique and awesome things about camping here was the new 9 hole disc golf course on the property that’s open to campers. The course was the perfect mix of open fairways and wooded holes with one elevated basket, a hole with a water hazard, several holes with mandos that force strategic play, and beautiful scenery throughout-it has some small hills and varied elevations while still being cart-friendly and easy to navigate. It’s a perfect spot for beginners and veterans alike, as beginners can experience a fun round of 9 holes with neat decor and sights along the way and the avid disc golfer could easily make a day of playing this course multiple times, trying out different throws and strategies throughout.
For anyone who loves the camping and disc golf combo, The Hitching Post is absolutely the perfect spot on the map. And any camper is sure to enjoy The Hitching Post’s picturesque scenery, beautiful sunrises and sunsets, and perfect touches of rustic charm. There’s no doubt that this is our new go-to camping spot, and we can’t wait to go back!
