Our 3-acre pasture borders a 13-mile recreational trail that encompasses our entire town. Super easy access to the trail via bike, golf cart, or on foot to the middle school, high school, community auditorium, William Penn University or Lacey Recreational Complex. We live approximately 150 yards from the city limits, but are on a gravel road. It is an easy 7-minute drive to the grocery store, 2 minutes to the local hospital, and the trail is accessible to walkers, golf carts and bicyclists. Our property does not have any hookups, but if needed, there is are a couple of spots where a 110 connection could be accommodated (for an additional $5/night) close to our home that we could have discussions about using. My husband and are I both retired and our property is LGBTQIA+ friendly.
Please note on the three acres, we do have 15 laying hens who free-range during the day, but are confined at night. They typically do not have any desire to interact with humans unless you are feeding them and should not present any problems. IF you bring a pet, please insure it is kept controlled and not allowed to interact with our hens or the folks using the recreational trail. As a bonus, for $5 per person we would be happy to whip up a farm-fresh egg breakfast each morning you stay with us.
During summer months, guests are welcome to use our above-ground fully-enclosed pool complete with outdoor shower (heated by the power of the sun shining on a garden hose which means hot water is VERY limited!). There is a tiki bar, small deck and lawn furniture inside the pool enclosure.

Great camping area overlooking the Mississippi River. There is no electricity or water on the property, but there is an outhouse and a fire pit with firewood supplied free of charge. The site is a flat, mowed pasture, but there is gravel parking at the entrance. The camping area is about 100 yards from the entrance, and the grass lane can become soft or muddy.
I do have some beehives located on the property, which should not bother anyone unless they are disturbed, but I wanted to provide a heads-up. That area will be taped off.

We were in town for William Penn's graduation and the Tulip Festival in Pella. The location was great because it's so close to town yet it is on a remote gravel road with no loud neighbors or road noise. The hosts were perfectly accommodating. We set up our slide in camper in their driveway and had water and electric hookup. They provided a fire ring and firewood. Their pool area has solar decorative lights that create a vibe after dark. They did offer to let us move further away from their home near their barn but we were happy where we were. You could see an entrance to the city's trail system right from the site. Wish we would have brought our bikes. Will definitely set up here again when we come back to town.

This was a very cute site on the river which I loved! However, there was a house nearby that was playing music rather loud. I loved the views but wish it was a bite quieter. It was a Saturday night, so maybe week nights are quieter. Overall, good stay.

Loren met us on arrival and was very helpful the whole time. The camp spot was nice and quiet and right by the river. We didn’t end up starting up the fire pit, but we will next time. We thought the spot was going to be hard to find but it wasn’t. We were able to turn our 25’ travel trailer around on the road to get situated, but I wouldn’t recommend trying to flip anything much bigger than that. Loren said he was going to trim the branches on the road just ahead to make a turnaround, so you may be able to get larger rigs here in the future. Otherwise I guess you’d just stay at River Camp! Nice spot, and we would recommend it!
