Roam around the 120 acre homestead, woods and creek and soak in the sights, sounds and smells of the farm. Be sure to visit our farm store before you leave where you can shop for alpaca products such as sweaters, hats, mittens and scarves. Pick up some farm fresh eggs from our flock of pastured chickens!
Heritage Farm has several options for overnight lodging. One of the most popular places to stay is in our authentic 1850's log cabin. And it's certainly special to us as well. The cabin represents a valued part of our heritage. It reminds us every day of our agricultural roots, solid values and the importance of faith and family.

We are working on a garden greenhouse, a 20 foot yurt with wood stove, and Chickens with Fresh Eggs laid daily (available for purchase) Owner works from home and is always a text away. There are dogs, community Cats, and a Cat Sanctuary Rescue called The Black Sheep Cat-tuary. There is plenty of parking for small RVs and Camping Vans, Cars, etc. There is fresh delicious, clean and tested well water, 2 fire pits (lots of wood available for purchase, or just pick up some sticks around the property from the shade trees) There is a creek for wading in, lots of cats to love on, and places for hammocks, Electric outlets available to charge a cell phone, or other devices, and a simple compost toilet. Large secluded cove near our barn and garden. Watch the sun come up from the orchard. There is 1 electrical plug so not all 3 spaces have electric but you can run a cord. There is also a single water spigot to share as well. There are 2 houses somewhat visible through the trees but no direct line of sight and otherwise private. We have 2 dogs, Whiskey and Barb, Whiskey will usually keep her space but bark, if you ignore her she will be friendly, acts mean but never bites. Barbara is a Jack Russell. She will jump in the truck if you don't tell her not to and will happily run off with snacks. We ask you please don't feed them as it will teach them to come for food and some people don't appreciate the dogs.. This is a farm so you may see and smell animals. Depending on when you book you may even be somewhat near animals. Be aware of this and be ready to keep dogs contained. We typically run pigs in the woods around the cove but we move them regularly and keep the smell to a minimum by doing so.

You won’t be sorry should you be in need of a place camp or RV for a bit! The nights are beautiful out there too! We ended up staying on longer than expected. Kool fact, while I didn’t think him cocky, waking to a rooster in the morning is actually really cool:))
It was super cold for most of the night we were there but Dave and Tara were gracious and kind and shared some flannel blankets to help keep lab River warm. Filled my heart with joy to be welcomed so.
So grateful to have met them and found their wonderful location!! Added additional days as needed and they made everything wonderful!

It was super cold and snowy for the night we were there camping but Dave and Tara went out of their way to provide a drop cord for us so we could have power to our heater!
Much needed as the outside temp felt like -24!
So grateful to have met them and found their wonderful location!!

Always a great stay at Havendale Farm. I've stayed many times in the car camping spot and this time stayed with a friend, so we booked two spots. Truly there's no bad location when you stay here! You can park in the shade of a tree and enjoy the rustle of leaves for the night. Dave is great and always very welcoming. This is my favorite place to stay when I'm in the Indianapolis area. Highly recommended.

A wonderful quiet farm stay as I was passing through. Lovely setup and I wandered around talking to the horses and the chickens and the turkeys (they didn’t answer back!) I would definitely stay again, and for longer if I was going to see some of Indianapolis. Thanks for a nice stopover at your farm!

This spot is easy to find and ~5 minutes off the interstate in a quiet neighborhood. My husband and I and our two dogs stopped here for an overnight rest on our cross-country drive. The camp spot was nice and level for our rooftop tent. Port-a-potty is very clean and it’s nice to have a spot to wash hands. It was peaceful and calming to watch the horses graze as the sun went down. Dave is extremely responsive and easy to communicate with. We could hear some noise from the interstate in the distance but it was not intrusive and we were very comfortable here. Would recommend and would stay again!

We loved camping at Steve and Linda’s farm! It was so peaceful and quiet. They were truly wonderful hosts and we loved meeting the 4 legged hosts too—Lowell (kitty) and George (horse)! Close to restaurants and we loved walking and biking the BIG 4 trail! Perfect escape from hustle and bustle!
