I enjoyed staying at the Grain Bin. It’s a simple and pleasantly quiet farm. Above all, I felt completely safe and comfortable here. I would definitely stay again!

Site is a good base camp for seeing Cahokia, St Louis or other sites in the area. Electric hookup was good 30 AMP.

Weekend Trip to Explorer Valley

50 amp service & city water is available no sewer but we just dumped for free at Loves on 370 on the way home. It was very quiet & peaceful. a wonderful relaxing space. Dennis the owner was polite cordial & a treat to BS with (& only lives there part time). our pad was 1' clean gravel & well maintained. the view was a large open field which was well cut and over to the left a hayfield all with a tall treeline in the distance. there's a creek 10' into the treeline which meant the ol' lady & kiddos got to play in the water with pool floats while I worked. the bank is steep so no flood worries (rained heavy 1st day there & 4 days prior). He's got wifi & it worked very well which is great because there's no cell service! a wonderful site that we'll use again because he's only 40 minutes west from our STL County residence (I-70 & exit 203 Highway T/W) & 10 minutes to the very popular Cedar Lakes Winery! 10 minutes from his quiet slice of heaven to the bustling Wentzville Crossing strip which has Target Walmart Lowes Home Depot Walgreens etc etc in anythingis needed. we loved the Mexican restaurant in Flint Hill MO. GREAT food at reasonable pricing wiyh a nice outdoor patio.

Weekend Trip to Explorer Valley

We had a great time camping at Explorer Valley. It was just for one night on a road trip from Colorado to Ohio, but it was the perfect spot to land. It was convenient to I-70, but was far away from all of the road noise. Dennis was there to meet us and help us park and get plugged in. We enjoyed walking around the mowed path in the evening and had a restful night there.

The place is level, wide, and well kept! Definitely not the spot if privacy is your #1 priority, but tucked away out of eye shot from major roads. Directions were clear and thorough and host is friendly and communicative!

1 night at Triangle H Farm, LLC

Pink boot horse made me feel safe when hearing evil noises at night. Great portapotty too. Deceivingly cute bunny but definitely evil. I woke up to a cock a doodle doo which reminded me of when I grew up on the farm. Sad memories, shed a tear.

1 night at Earth, Wind & Solar Farm

We had a great experience camping here with our travel trailer. The hosts were very kind and welcoming and it is a beautiful property with a large pond and chickens. We enjoyed going for a walk in the neighborhood and had a very peaceful and quiet evening. This spot could not be any more convenient to I-70 but you would never know it. We definitely recommend it to other travelers in the area and would love to stay here again in the future. We also purchased the egg add-on which was delightful. Farm fresh eggs really added to the experience.

100% would recommend this place. Quiet, fishing was great, hosts were welcoming, and offered plenty of fire wood w/seating next to the lake. We will definitely be returning to this location.

It was a cute working farm on the outskirts of St. Louis! We were only passing through on this visit but can’t wait to come back through on a future trip and spend some time exploring the region and the Chain of Rocks Bridge! The animals were a treat to see! The only negative, if any, was the lack of graveled / dry parking area. It had recently rained and we had to park off of the gravel road because of standing water.

Great spot, level and clean with quick freeway access and close to downtown. A little tricky for a trailer to pull in for the hookups on driver side and still get the car out but I made it work.

Very relaxing stay near Alton and St Louis. Very peaceful with lots of animals to see. Set up van under a willow tree the side of the property and had lots of privacy. I would stay again. Everyone friendly, including the animals.

Our family enjoyed Ryan’s campsite - and our kids especially enjoyed their friendly cats and watching the cows and chickens! The weather was sketchy the night we were there, and while it ended up cooperating, Ryan was very accommodating and responsive as we discussed options. We appreciate Ryan’s hospitality and enjoyed his property and animals!

5 nights at Timberline Ridge

This was a wonderful place to stay. Secluded in a beautiful area that was quite and just overall relaxing. The hosts were very communicative and upon our arrival showed us where trails were, etc. Still close to Carlinville which has a Walmart, dollar general, and dollar tree for any items you might need. We really enjoyed our time here and extended literally our first night as we enjoyed the serenity it provided!

Felt really safe. We stopped on our way back from an epic roadtrip to the Grand Canyon. Host was kind and texted us updates with weather and everything we needed to know. Campsite was nice and safe. Perfect for what we needed.

Weekend Trip to Kaskaskia River Camping & RV Park

Love the quiet place on the river. The Point spot was beautiful in you had your own little peninsula. There is a fire pit available on the end. The only odd thing was that for the hook ups they are on a side that you will have to pull into. We actually pulled in on the side to pack into. Apparently it was the side that was not intended for us. Still it’s an amazing place to stay. I don’t know that we would be back in the area but would happily stay again.

Weekend Trip to Emerald Acres Farm

We absolutely loved this little place. They were so kind and accommodating for us. I got there later than expected and stayed one night, and I wasn’t sure where I needed to be, and they came out to guide me. It’s super easy to find the site but count on me to complicate anything. There dog was super friendly and they had 6 baby goats we fell in love with. We want to go back just to camp and spend time with all their animals. What a great little gem you have! Thanks for letting us stay on your land!

Happy Trails farm is a beautiful refreshing place that you can relax, and connect with the family farm life. We were established Oct. 27th, 2007, and it's our "Acres of Diamonds" (Earl Nightengale). There are 20.11 acres of farm life to share with you. We do many things to help keep the farm going, and moving towards being self supporting. Such as pony rides, birthday parties, weddings, camp outs, and so much more. We sell fresh laid farm eggs for $5 cash a dozen. To purchase eggs, call or text Nancy (618)601-4645 Pony rides are $30 cash, and by appointment only. They are hand led, and approximately 20-30 minute. The child will be hand led around the farm. If you would like to schedule a ride please message Maryann @ (618)610-9282. We also house and run Happy Trails Horse Rescue (501c3) non for profit, and accept donations. Some of the things you will experience and see are: volunteers helping out; horses, mules, donkeys, chickens, ducks, geese, turkey, goats, llama, and many others. We are a small and important resource to the overall well being of the community. We look forward to seeing you on the farm! Check-in is between 2pm-9pm. No late night check-ins. Cancellations must be made by 2pm the day before your reservation. Happy Trails Farm Resort is a great place to get lost and find a connection. Earth, Wind and Solar Farm is 5 acres. You can book multiple sites if you want to stay as a group. We do our best to allow 1 reservation to stay on site at a time. If only 1 site is requested the others are then blocked to allow guests privacy during their stay. If another person requests to stay and it is booked, we will check with the current reservation for approval. We also allow groups to book and camp together if needed (use both rv pads, or tent camp). We do offer 50amp and 30amp power options (2 different RV parking sites). Some people have commented that our driveway entrance seems narrow for larger rigs (Class A's and 5th wheels). We've had 53' long rigs (5th wheels)and 45' (Class A's) pull in and get parked with no issues. You will need to be able to back into a spot for either 50a or 30a service. We do have additional parking available for extra vehicles. If you have a tow vehicle/toad, you will need to detach prior to arrival. There are 2 trucks stops less than 5 miles away (TA and Pilot) or there is a park with a large parking area off of David Hoekel Parkway you can utilize. We do offer 20amp power and extension cord for tent campers (either in our tent or can be used in your own tent. Free cold showers available. A bundle of firewood is now included for use in provided fire pits in needed/requested. Outdoor Hot showers available at a charge of $5/person. This includes the use of propane and a portable hot water heater. Wi-Fi is available during your stay. Will provide network name and password in confirmation email. 3 firepits are available for use (firewood can be purchased). Easy access to our place via Hwy 70 (take the David Hoekel Parkway Exit). We are 5 miles from Wentzville which offers a Walmart, Target, Sams Club, Lowes, Home Depot, multiple grocery stores, Rural King, Charlies and multiple restaurants. We have a stocked pond with catfish, bluegill, sunfish, largemouth bass, black crappie, carp and turtles. There is a Windmill that aerates the pond (do not climb on it). You can fish the pond must practice CPR (catch photo release). Or you can feed the pond fish & feed out chickens. We will provide the fish food and chicken treats. There is plenty of wildlife (deer, fox, raccoons, armadillo's, birds, etc.). Deer will walk by the pond and driveway a couple of times a day. We also have a group of free-range chickens and French guineas (eggs may be available during your stay). There are bike trails in the area, paved roads you can ride on to explore, wineries nearby, a petting zoo and pumpkin patch. Things to do nearby: Horsehoe Hall of Fame, Big Joels Safari, Multiple wineries in Wright City/Augusta/Defiance, Wacky Warriors Paintball, Busch Wildlife, Katy Trail, Pumpkin Patches and so much more.
