This property fronts Kelso Lake, which is a motorboat free 55 acre lake located half way between Coeur d’Alene and Sandpoint, just a 15 minute drive to Silverwood Theme Park. This is the ideal spot to spend time kayaking, catching up around the campfire, fishing, and enjoying the peaceful atmosphere. If you keep your eyes peeled you may see blue heron’s, bald eagles, and if your quiet the beaver may swim past and say hello! This property is a half acre at the edge of the Kelso Lake community. This property is ideally located less than a 20 min drive to Farragut State Park, Lake Pend Oreille, Bayview, and Silverwood Theme Park. If you are trailer camping you will have to back in from the public roadway up an incline to access the spot. If you aren't comfortable backing your trailer in this spot might not be for you. We also welcome tent and van campers! There is a fire ring, a picnic table, tiki bar, decks, chairs, and an outhouse. There is a trail down to the dock where you can launch kayaks, paddle boards or canoes. New this season, 4 kayaks included with your stay!! The property is situated on the end of the lake with lily pads and beaver dens…. its beautiful but not the best swimming spot! If you want to take a dip in the lake the public boat launch is less than a half mile down the road! If you have an electric boat motor you are more than welcome to use it but no motor boats are allowed on this lake. If this sounds like the perfect get away for you, we cannot wait to host!

A couple of mooring balls available, ask on availability. Shallow, soft, clay bottom. Two sandy beaches shared with Hipcampers and family. We have 4 kids. The beach with the dock between site 1 and 2 is also used by our family as well. Our place is a relaxed atmosphere and we enjoy meeting new campers visiting us. There is a large firepit, water, 30A power pole. No sewer for the RV. Most suitable for a vehicle pulling a RV up to 30-foot long. Driveway is flat with wood chips / gravel. Has a picnic table. The house on the property has a front porch with a pergola and another outdoor table with a shade umbrella. No access to the house. There are two driveways, North and South. Tucked away in the mossy rocks, The Hidden Frog offers a half acre of private, forested camping on the banks of Kelso Lake. The 60 acre lake allows non-motorized watercraft only, which makes for a peaceful, relaxing stay. The parking area has room for a vehicle and trailer up to 60ft long combined, plus another area for a single vehicle. It is adjacent to a shared driveway, so you must leave room for vehicles to get around you. You can choose to set up camp there, or down a short path to the lake where there is ample flat ground for multiple tents. The path is cleared but rocky, so always make sure to watch your step! A fire ring, shovel, bucket of water, emergency fire extinguisher, 2 chairs and one 13gal garbage bag are provided for your use. I live next door, so I'm around if there is anything you need (don't be afraid to ask!) There are no other amenities right now, but we plan on adding some as we start to make some money (i.e. an outhouse, electrical.) The shoreline is very bushy and rocky- not ideal for fishing, boating or swimming, but there is a free public boat launch site .4mi down the road, plus another at Granite lake .7mi away. Both offer a toilet, and a place for swimming and fishing (must have a fishing licence.) Please respect the boundaries and do not cross into neighbors' yards. Also, do not disturb the mosses growing on the rocks (it is a fragile ecosystem!) and respect the wildlife that make the space their home. Wildlife you may encounter includes deer, moose, beaver, otters, chipmunks, squirrels, frogs, salamanders, eagles, osprey, blue herons, ducks, and many other bird species- we are located on the Idaho Birding Trail. Weekend Trip to Beaver Bay

Beaver Bay was such a beautiful and fun place for a weekend camping trip with the fam. Kids and our dog had plenty of space to play and explore, and the kayaks were a great addition so we all had the opportunity to paddle on the lake. The water a ways out from the dock is pretty deep which was so refreshing for a quick swim! There was more than enough space for our trailer, two tents, and three cars. The extra table made a nice camp kitchen area. There are a few neighbors nearby, which was no problem especially with the privacy fencing and trees, we were more than able to relax and enjoy the outdoors peacefully. At night, you can hear train horns as they pass through nearby, which didn’t bother us but if you’re sensitive to that you might consider ear plugs if you’re tent camping. Thanks for sharing this spot with us, we hope to visit again soon!

We loved staying at this HipCamp. It was one of the best locations we have stayed. Literally feet away from the Pend Oreille River, the views were amazing. The hosts were very friendly and helpful. We had to change our plans and they worked with HipCamp to get two nights refunded even though it was outside their cancellation policy. We would definitely stay here again.

This is an amazing site! We came in after 10pm and we were still able to register for a spot and directions were sent through the app. It was so easy to find. There was motion sensor lights to help us back in our RV. Only the lights at our site went on which was nice so if there are other RVs then their lights wouldn't go on and disturb them (though we were the only ones there). It was so quiet and peaceful. No traffic noise even though you are very close to the highway. No problems and felt safe. Very easy hook up, even for people that don't know much about RVs. :) Wonderful experience! 100% recommend this site!

We had such a great time at this spot. Unfortunately the smoke is bad right now but we still managed to enjoy ourselves. The view is incredible, super clean port-a-potty and everything was very clearly laid out for us to effectively utilize the site. We are definitely coming back again! Not buggy this time of year except for some yellow jackets.

Great spot close to Coeur d' Alene. It was nice to have electrical hookups. Loved the string lights! It did get a bit noisy at times with the proximity of the highway and a shooting range close by. We loved the surroundings and our site felt private. The goats were adorable! Would stay here again.

Stewart and Shawna's waterfront camp was AMAZING! We had a wonderful time. The water was perfect for kids of all ages. We had a large group and they were so kind and accommodating and it made for a great family camp out. It was great to be able to bring our dogs with us as well and have them off leash to run around and swim with us. They had some super fun water toys by the dock that everyone loved to play on. We will definitely return if we are in the area again.

The site was fantastic. Power, trash, table and lights were all great. I wish a tent site was a little more level but it was totally fine. The trail to the goats and garden was wonderful. My kids loved it and begged to go ever chance they got. We met the owners down there and they were very friendly and welcoming. We would definitely recommend.

This is a really special place! We loved our wooded site. It was quiet and peaceful, and located in a lovely rural area. Our daughter was able to ride her bike around a gravel loop, and we all took walks down to visit the goats and chickens. It’s very welcoming with light strung up and a sweet sign with camping “rules” (all the things to enjoy when camping). And it’s only 10 minute drive from Silverwood, Would stay here again for sure.

Campsite was great! Parking on top and a good spot by the lake for a tent. It was a bit of a tight fit for our big camper but worked for us. Parking spot was a little unlevel but that's what leveling jacks are for. Public access to the lake was just down the road. We had a great time there while visiting Silverwood. Cell signal was low, but host was more then helpful when knocking on the door.

My husband, our 4 year old son, and myself tent camped at Stephen’s place for one night before a trip to Silverwood. We loved the included kayaks and thoughtful outdoor furniture throughout the campsite. Our only “complaint” would be the bathrooms— the permanent one didn’t seem to be working properly, and the port-a-potty desperately needed to be serviced! We know that it’s a rarity to find a campground with clean, nice smelling toilets, though, so it didn’t affect our stay all that much. It felt private, even though it’s right next to a well-traveled road, and it was pretty quiet at night— nothing but crickets! We had a great night camping here and recommend it.
