This is not a neighborhood or resort setting. This is real mountain wilderness. If you are looking for a Terrace Lakes style community experience, this is not it. If you are looking for quiet, privacy, stars, wildlife and adventure, you’re in the right place. Sleeping arrangements comfortably accommodate up to five guests with one bunk bed and a futon. Bring your own bedding and pillows based on the season. We recommend zero degree sleeping bags in winter and lightweight bedding in summer. Towels are not provided. There is no running water and no shower. We provide fresh five gallon drinking water jugs and a clean private porta potty. There is a sink inside for washing dishes. The yurt is heated and cooled with a mini split system. We do not provide firewood for the wood stove or firepit. Firewood can be purchased locally in Crouch or Garden Valley. There is interior lighting but no exterior lighting, so bring headlamps or flashlights for nighttime use. Cooking amenities include a two burner propane stove with cast iron griddle, a private deck with propane grill, and a fully stocked cooking setup including dishes, utensils, spices and olive oil. The yurt is accessed by a short walk from the parking area and terrain may be uneven, muddy, snowy or icy depending on weather. In winter, AWD or 4WD with winter tires or chains is required. We live on the property but respect your privacy completely. You will not see us unless you request assistance. It is surrounded on all sides by Payette, Salmon-Challis, and Sawtooth National Forests, it is situated conveniently close to both urban fun in Boise, and limitless wilderness adventures everywhere else. So there are two sections 1st is a flat section where you have plenty of room to set up tents and RVs. It is right off the road, and any car can get to the site with ease. The 2nd section is more wooded and has access to the river. You are welcome to tent camp here it is just getting an RV down there and out can be a challenge I don't recommend it. Also, the bridge across the river is the neighbors and so is the property across the river. There are roughly 4 campsites on the property but can camp where you want really. Large flat spot above the river that has access to the water. Half of the property is a flat spot for RV's and tents the 2nd half is more green, woody and has access to the river. There is a deeper spot in the river that is 3-4 feet deep and is perfect to lounge in during the hot parts of the summer. Please pack out what you pack in and keep the place nice for the next camper. Great location with river access. We pulled a small overland trailer with a rooftop tent and were able to find a nice, flat space, and get it leveled out. I don’t believe there is a beach but great water by the campsite. We didn’t make it to the water as we were visiting family, but our pups did. It’s a nice, long strip of mowed grass with mowed river access. The military vehicle mentioned as a marker was tucked behind what I think was a box trailer, but the property was evident and the address brought us right there. Quiet at night aside from occasional traffic and the river was audible from our tent.

Perfect spot! Sat just over 15th hole of Terrace Lakes. The location also had great access to trails for our dirt bikes and Rzr. Ground was level and hookups were a breeze. We would definitely stay again in the future!

Weekend Trip to Secluded Off Grid Mountain Yurt

We loved the yurt! We are normally tent campers, but with a newly adopted dog and an elderly dog we decided that the yurt was a good alternative this time. It was the perfect place to relax and recharge for a couple of days. It felt private, in and among all the trees. The walk from parking to the yurt was tricky for our old arthritic dog but with a little assistance he was able to make it along just fine. Having the amenities in the yurt of the AC and lighting made it extra comfortable. The stove and fridge made cooking easy. Wade was very responsive and even provided a recommendation for easy river access when we asked in the middle of our stay. We can’t wait to come back again.

2 nights at Garden Valley River Access Campsite

This is a wonderful site with lots of options and a surprising amount of space! Big flat area effortlessly hosts a giant 5th wheel (or two!) while a shaded upper area was optimal for my camper van or a trailer. Just below that was a long strip at rivers edge (but still a few feet up the bank) ideal for tents and tiring out dogs (or kids!). Even had a picnic table waiting. The site is easily accessed off the road, but that does mean you’ll have cars passing close by (moderate speed, roughly one every minute or two). Didn’t bother me but something to consider if you’re sensitive to that. As another reviewer noted, yes the neighbors play music on a capable set of outside speakers for an hour or two in the afternoon, but it passed eventually and things were quiet most of the time. I’d still come back. Good Starlink connectivity with just a bit of obstructions at the edges that I could probably have avoided if I setup elsewhere.

Weekend Trip to Secluded Off Grid Mountain Yurt

Our family enjoyed a winter weekend at Wildedge Yurt to celebrate a birthday. The kids had a blast sledding and playing in all the fresh snow on the hills around the yurt. The yurt itself was very clean, warm, and comfortable. The porta potty was also fresh and clean. We parked in spot #2 near the porta potty. It wasn't a very far walk at all to reach the yurt. Basically just down a small slope from the road. Spot #1 is a bit further, about a 5 minute walk. We brought suitcases, totes, and a cooler instead of backpacks. If you go that route, definitely park in spot #2, or at least unload up by the porta potty. Wade was extremely easy to work with and responded to my questions quickly. He also kept in touch with us about snow levels and access. It's beautiful there! It was a weekend full of great memories and our kids are already asking when we can return! One thing to note: There are 2 roads named Timberline Dr. off Banks/Lowman Rd. If you just plug in the address in Apple Maps it'll take you to the first road (coming from Boise), which is not correct. Don't take that one. Instead, follow the written directions Wade sends you and go to the 2nd Timberline Dr. that starts out as Huston Rd. that is just a bit further down Banks/Lowman Rd. Wade plows that road in the winter as it's basically his really long driveway passing by some summer cabins. Enjoy your stay!
