The beauty and allure of Mirror Lake led to it being featured in two Hollywood movies -- Dante's Peak (1997) and Mel (1998). The lake itself is excellent for fishing, and stocked with Kokanee, Brook Trout, Rainbow Trout, and Cutthroat Trout. The stocking is typically scheduled for the first week of June each year, so if you are an angler, it's best to come after June 7th for the best fishing. Paying homage to the Bigfoot legend in northern Idaho, the theme of this campground is all things Sasquatch! Can you find all 9 Sasquatch hiding throughout the campground? Swimming in nearby Talache Landing (a.k.a. Talache Beach) on the shores of Lake Pend Oreille is an absolute must-do. The views are absolutely stunning and the water is crystal clear -- and quite refreshing on a hot day. Fishing is best done in a canoe or small boat which can be put in at our campground dock (free) or at the nearby public boat ramp ($5 fee). Learn more about this land: We have 125 acre farm ranch that is waterfront on brownlee reservoir. We have 5 different camping vacations options. 1 cabin to rent. 1 camp trailer on a nice waterfront lot as well as 3 camp sports 1 with water and power hook ups (site. 2 water wheel) and 2 dry camp spots. we have a spot to launch boats which is right between sight 3 and 4. Good fishing. Very little boat traffic. Very private. In the fall big horn sheep frequently rut on the property. We usually have fresh eggs on hand. Dry climate. Sage brush and juniper trees here. We have an easy to access spot to fill up water to your camp trailers or rvs. The water is from a spring and Water tastes really good. We just added a 24ft pontoon boat for rent. This area has a lot of history. Chief Joseph of the Nez Perce tribe often stayed in this area and on the property. In fact this was where his tribe met to discuss and decide to try to go to escape to Canada. This is where that journey started. You can still find arrow heads on the shoreline every so often. I’m ruffly 15 miles north of Huntington oregon. 13 miles of which is dirt road. The property sits at the base of lookout mountain. Really good cell service here with Verizon Full bars. If you decide to come camp make sure your directions take you through Huntington. Google sometimes likes to try to get people to drive over the mountain. Or if your coming from the north it sometimes wants you to go through Richland and then on 34 miles of dirt road. Going Through Huntington onto snake river rd is the easy way to go.

New to the Lodge is Adirondack-style "The Bunkie" that sleeps 6 or 7 plus has a desk, microwave and fridge. All bed and bath linens are provided in all of our rooms. Firepits are a-plenty! Our Inn also has great tent sites, plus both 30 amp and 50 amp RV/Camper sites with water and electric, a firepit and picnic table each, plus a fee dump station. We are currently planning/building another shower/restroom house and a laundry mat. There is a fee dump station on site. With over ten acres of property to play at and stroll, your stay will be one of fun, peace and quiet. Our RV & Camp is fun! We have our famous Borrow Barn with loads of complementary activities including a 9 hole disc golf course with maps/disc/scorecards, free pedal boats, Little Free Library #69967, volleyball, tetherball, badminton, board games and more, plus our cruiser bicycles in our Bike Corral are for guests to enjoy on property also. Children must be watched always and very closely-- enjoy being with your children on the property. A beautiful Restroom and Shower House is fee free. We are located in the Heise-Kelly Canyon of southeast Idaho with fabulous sunrises and sunsets. We are very close to hiking, hot springs, rapelling, 200+ miles of ATV and SxS trails, golf, mini-golf, a driving range, skiing, ice cream parlor and two restaurants, and the mighty Snake River corridor right across the road. 90 minutes to the east to Jackson/GTNP/then South Gate in YNP (2 routes-- the mountain pass or the easy Snake River route), and 90 minutes to the north to West Yellowstone/Yellowstone West Gate (2 steep mountain passes). Both routes are beautiful with waterfalls, gorgeous mountain views, and Idaho countryside. We are 20 minutes from Bear World in Rexburg, and less than two hours from Grand Teton Park and Yellowstone National Park regardless of which of the four routes that you take, with each route including a beautiful waterfall. 90 minutes to the east to Jackson/GTNP/then South Gate in YNP (2 routes-- the mountain pass or the easy Snake River route), and 90 minutes to the north to West Yellowstone/Yellowstone West Gate (2 steep mountain passes). Both routes are beautiful with waterfalls, gorgeous mountain views, and Idaho countryside.

Learn more about this land: Come to our riverside getaway at Teton Corners. This 3 acre peninsula into the Teton River provides amazing trout fishing right from your tent door (licenses issued just 1 mile down the road). This gorgeous nature area is minutes from town, with easy access to HWY20 and HWY33. Deer, moose, bald eagles and osprey frequent the area year round, as well as beaver, waterfowl and night owls. RV dumps right down the road, as well as a 27 hole golf course, if that's your thing. Or just relax, dip your feet in the Teton River and listen to the water pass by. This is grain bin glamping. Expect it to be like camping except for not in a tent.. there is power enough for lights and to power your devices. The temperatures are the same as inside a tent. I have 2 bins available that sleeps 2 each. There is a porta potty next to each one. There will be outdoor showers, but currently the shower bathroom, it's up at the barn. This is still under development, so more will be added with every grain bin having it's own unique personality. This is also the best views of bear lake that you can get. This area of the property often as deer rabbits, and sometimes even moose strolling through it. No wood fires during the summer months, as it's too dry. I will provide a gas fire for an extra cost.

Weekend Trip to 🌲 Black Lake Overlook Retreat

My son and I had a great, quiet weekend here. Everything was as described. There was a gas camp chef, a charcoal grill, a great quality tent that was very clean inside and ready for us when we got there. The outhouse was far enough away that there is no concern for smells creeping into the campsite and it was clean, anyway. Lots of adorable wildlife. We were thrilled to hear multiple owls at night. I would recommend bringing some sort of space heater if you're there during the Fall (and maybe early Spring) as it got into the 40s at night. We were also very excited to wake up to a perfect view of an inversion of the lake during sunrise. The views were amazing. We loved it. I definitely intend on booking this campsite with my other son at some point in the relative near future.

Chris really knocked it out of the park with this site! The view is absolutely beautiful, and the peace and quiet make it the perfect place to get away, unplug, and enjoy the outdoors. It feels tucked away in nature without being so far out that you’re completely off the grid. The town is less than 10 minutes away, and the market has anything you could possibly need, which makes it super convenient without taking away from the camping experience. The directions were easy to follow, and getting to the site was a breeze. Would stay again!

I camped out at this lovely site for two nights with my sons, and we enjoyed every minute! The simple-yet-elegant amenities, combined with the site's location and atmosphere, allow for a perfect balance of comfort and solitude. The convenience of a pre-assembled, family sized tent, cooking stations, and a wood pellet stove enabled us to set up quickly and allowed for minimal distractions in disconnecting from civilization and becoming immersed in nature. My sons particularly enjoyed the hiking trails carved out of the hillside and the our wonderful host's generous offer to explore their property. I particularly enjoyed the breathtaking, panoramic views of Black Lake and its surrounding verdant countryside, and the quiet serenity of nature far removed from anything urban. The hammock provided beneath the primary campsite was a great way to enjoy these sensory wonders in comfort. Another wonderful highlight was the majestic night sky, unfettered by any nearby light pollution, and the candlelit ambience of the low wattage solar powered lights fencing the site perimeter. Kara was a very gracious host, and she answered all my questions promptly and thoroughly. 10/10, would highly recommend. I plan on returning with my wife for a romantic getaway sometime soon!

My family and I had so much fun staying at crazy cow farm!! They have thought about everything. There’s a chalkboard, sandbox, and a playground. Shayna also provided supplies for a fire and smores. Our toddler got to help feed the animals and she was in heaven! All the animals were so cute and fun. There are also carts you can rent and ride to the local penny candy store. Shayna and her family are very nice and friendly. It’s been a week since we stayed here and our daughter has talked about it everyday since! We are already planning our next trip back.

Beautiful site. Hummingbirds flew through daily. Clean tent and comfortable bed. The extra blanket, heater, and fan helped us manage the daily high and low temperatures. Easy access to hikes and food, but beautiful enough to stay there all day. The warm shower was wonderful. Lots of boats and fisherman going by, but the site was still secluded and peaceful.

Weekend Trip to Crazy Cow Farm Adventure

What a wonderful experience, especially for the grandkids (ages 2-8). The kids loved seeing and feeding the animals, playing on the play equipment, riding the pedal cars around the property and to the nearby park and candy store. Also cooking hotdogs over the camp fire. It was a great family reunion with some in the rental trailer on site, some in tents, and our 5th wheel as headquarters. We even helped chase sheep along the path to help them (the sheep that is) build some muscle for a future fair competition. Oh, also holding puppies and helping catch an escaped rabbit. It is a very unique chance for our kids and grandkids to be on a working farm and get just a taste of farm life. Shayna and her family were wonderful and patient hosts that took time to explain farm things to the grandkids. On our second evening, the grandkids even abandoned a birthday cake to run and do chores for the animals with Shayna. A great experience and great memory builder! Do note though, it can get pretty warm in August!

We completely enjoyed our stay at Crazy Cow! Shayna immediately makes you feel like part of the farm family. The area the trailers is on is soft green grass, lovely to hang out on. We stayed in cute Beverly and had a covered picnic table with lights. It was a hot day but the A/C cooled the trailer nicely. It was super fun to help with the chores at night and brought all the guests together to get to know each other.. For sure rent a go-kart or two, those were a blast to ride around. This is the perfect destination for families with young kids but my 13 year old loved it too, we want to go back!
