Ross Meadow RV

1 site · RV4 acres · Victor, ID
The Shoshone and Nez Perce Native American tribes spent their summers in this area hunting and fishing the many streams in this valley.   Trapper's used the area until the U.S. market collapse of the beaver skin top-hat in the late 1830's.  Mormon pioneers began settling here in the 1890's.  My great-grandparents settled in Teton Valley after moving from Nebraska in 1917.  They farmed this land; growing potatoes, barley and hay.  Today we raise alfalfa/grass hay that we feed to our horses.  In the bottom of our field south of the campsite is Trail Creek, which is the headwaters of the Teton River.  It flows out of the southern Teton mountain range in Wyoming and into Idaho.  This water eventually joins the mighty Snake River near Rexburg, Idaho as it continues it's journey to the pacific ocean.  Summer's here are usually warm sunny days with cool, chilly nights.  Our location sits at an elevation of 6,300' above sea level.Learn more about this land:Located 1 mile from Victor, Idaho along the Old Jackson Highway. Nice view of the southern Teton Range. Situated on the edge of a hayfield. Close proximity to many outdoor activities.

Butterfield Farms

1 site · RV2 acres · Weiser, ID
In the early 1900's three sheep ranchers--August Broderson, James Fisher, and Isaac Leighton--each purchased residential lots in Weiser and built brick homes designed by Idaho architect H. W. Bond. This property, which we named Butterfield Farms, was built in 1915 by August Broderson, who emigrated from Germany to the US in 1892. The Broderson family lived here for decades and were a prominent family in Weiser history. Learn more about this land:The campsite is located on our small family-run farm in Weiser, ID. Our 2 1/2 acre historic farm is located in the heart of town, so you have the best of both worlds: easy access to town amenities, and a restful retreat in nature at the end of the day. Grocery store, seasonal farmer's market, coffee shop, eateries, library, and downtown shops are all within easy walking or biking distance. Weiser is known world-wide for its annual fiddle festival in June! Our campsite is within walking or biking distance of all of the Fiddle Week activities. Campsite is located underneath a large shady oak tree. Campers are welcome to use the fire pit when fire bans are not in effect. Electric hookups are located immediately next to the campsite, as well as a non-potable water source. This land has been owned by my family since about 1900. My great grandfather was a judge, a store owner, an ice pond maker, and successful farmer here in Victor. Overview

In the eastern reaches of the Pacific Northwest, Idaho offers recreation throughout the year, from whitewater rafting to backcountry exploration. Winter sports are big, with ski resorts all over the state. If you're planning on camping, summer is the best time to visit, particularly if you want to see Idaho's many hiking trails, hot springs, waterfalls, or lakes. Hipcamps are your best private camping option, while Idaho State Parks manages many of the public campgrounds in the state, most coming well equipped with fire rings and picnic tables. Some also have yurts, and many offer RV sites with full hookups.
