As all the land here is born of lava, many moons ago this land began to host plants and critters. Long after, it was sculpted and a number of families and farmers have contributed to what we have today. An abundance of fruit and vegetables within sight of the ocean. Peaceful breezes and warming sun make for unparalleled tranquility. Today the land still gives back to its visitors.

As this is agricultural lands, there are many critters. Dogs, chickens, pheasants, peacock, mongoose, and many birds. Tge invasive coqui frog is annoying to some and calming to others.
The micro climate here swings from warm and dry to wet quickly. Best to always prepare for rain.
There is snorkeling, beaches, local food, Cafe, BBQ, poke, fish-n-chips, grocery, Sunday farmers market and hiking nearby.
It is peaceful here, but also an active farming community.
As an organic farm, we put alot of effort into soil building and as such, there are soft places that will be damaged by the weight of a vehicle. Staying on the driveway is best. We will guide you to where you need to go.
Our road is paved, but bumpy. Any vehicle will make it without damage if driven slowly. 1 to 4mph tops. *Be sure to avoid the camper rental companies that restrict certain roads.

I never got bored living here. Every day I got to wake up and go to the beach just minutes away from home, or my cousins and I would have a fishing contest to see who could catch the most fish. We would also go paddling up the river to lay nets down to catch some ono (delicious) crab for dinner.

Aloha! Looking for a place to lounge and adventure? Mangrove Lounge is the place for you! Mangrove Lounge is located right behind the historical town called Haleiwa Town. Camper Vans or RVs are more than welcome! During the day, enjoy access to a private river where you can take your fishing pole and catch yourself some dinner. After a busy day, enjoy a nice hot bath in a private shower under the stars, along with a flushing toilet and sink. Upon request and additional charge, end your adventure with a cozy night next to the fire pit ($28.00 for fire pit). Mangrove Lounge is 3-5 minutes (driving) away from many beaches and eateries in Haleiwa town where you can also do all your shopping. Less than a mile away, you can find all the delicious food trucks including the famous Giovanni Shrimp Truck. You can find your nearest supermarket just 1.2 miles away called Malama Market, and Longs Drug Store right across the street from Malama Market. Mangrove Lounge provides clean bathroom, a shower with hot water, access to a private river for relaxing or fishing, about 800ft from the nearest bus stop, and secured privacy so you and your friends or family can relax, feel safe, and most importantly...have fun! 😊

One of the most beautiful places in Hawai`i. We are at the top of a hill in a secluded and secure Homestead farm overlooking Kane`ohe Bay and Mokapu (and the Marine Corps Base) as well as the Pali (cliffs). We are nestled, in a jungle, in the Ko`olau mountain range. We have ocean access from the property (by crossing the road). Nearly are places to get in the water (such as Ka`a`awa and Ku`aloa Beach Park). We are also close to civilization and Kualoa Ranch.
We generally see the stars and the sun and moon rise. We also see the colors of the Bay change with the tides, clouds, wind, light.
We are focused on education about Hawai`i, being kind to animals (and all life, including humans), and we are privileged to be able to share our aloha as well as farm bounty. We grow chili peppers, ulu (breadfruit), kalo (taro), noni, vegetables, bananas, olena (turmeric), ginger, etc.
Not pictured is the common kitchen area.
We have access to Reiki, massage, and other types of services. We have kayaks, surfboards, general snorkel and beach gear, SUPs, and connections to local businesses for other opportunities (e.g., horseback riding, sailing, rowing, etc.).
There are surfing, kayaking, swimming, snorkeling, scuba, horseback riding, and hiking options nearby. We are also conveniently near a mall and many great places to eat. It is also lovely to hang out here at the farm and enjoy the peace, away from concrete and traffic congestion. There are places to explore and a steep climb one can hike to get to the edge of the property where there are many and even more spectacular views.
We are a real homestead and aspiring organic farm focused on Hawaiian Heritage plants and a Sanctuary for animals. We have many Native Hawaiian plants, superfoods, and culturally important plants. We also have Bucket and Scream (our goats), Venus, Zenith, and Sweetie (farm cats), Ipo (Australian Shepard farm dog), turkeys (Royal Palms), and a bunch of chickens.
It is possible to get around in the near area, and on and off the property, on The Bus. The Bus stop is down a hill about 5 minutes away.
We are always involved in community and local food, so let us know your interests. & let us know if you want to plant plants, weed bad grass, attend a cacao ceremony, or donate to a good cause.

Enjoy the country life in Kau on the Big Island and the lovely red Lehua flowers blooming. We live on 19 acres on Road to the Sea, which has a remote green sand beach at the end of the road (4 miles down from us). We call our slice of paradise, Honua Laa (a sacred place). Straight down to the coast is a beautiful black and green sand beach and a huge tide pool. Rent a four-wheel-drive to get there, and we recommend a 4WD to get to our place, since a recent storm washed our road out. Waiting on FEMA. Go slow, the road is rough and bumpy in places..
Off the grid. Rustic, but fun. If you are a Eco tourist or seeking adventure, you will love our spot!
The silence is golden and the stars are amazing.
Don't expect a hotel...this is upcountry glamorous camping.
It's one-of-a-kind! Most of the parcels are 20 acre parcels around… But a few smaller parcels across the road. We have nice neighbors who keep an eye on things.
The nearest grocery store is about 3 miles away. The Hele-On Bus is just 1.2 miles up the road. If you want to drive to the green sand beach at the end of our road, rent a 4 wheel drive. If you are athletic, you can walk, but it is 4 miles down and 4 miles back. I recommend going early in the morning and take water.
Hot water shower is propane. Bring ice for your ice chest. Bring drinking water. There is a gas grill and propane single burner. Bathroom has manual flush toilet,.
This is off the grid solar and there can be days without sun, or other glitches. You can charge your phone and have a lamp in your cabin. No wifi. Good cell coverage.
The panoramic ocean view is spectacular! Very peaceful and relaxing!
Our glamping cabins are in the front 3 acres. The back 17 acres is an old Ohia forest with 500 year old trees and lots of birds. You might even see a wild goat or a wild pig. There are small caves and gorgeous rock formations. It backs up to Manuka Forest Reserve.

What a beautiful property! We had such a nice stay.
The cabin tent was so comfy and cozy. I loved showering outside in the jungle. We picked a papaya for a snack. How fun is that?
Jenny is a sweetheart.
Keep in mind that chickens are early risers and geckos are everywhere.
Would totally recommend this place.

This campsite has everything you need for a comfortable stay, including an outdoor shower with warm water, a sink, and a flush toilet. The amenities were clean and well maintained.
There is also a nice shaded area with picnic tables that provides plenty of space to cook, organize and pack your camping gear, eat, or even get some remote work done.
During my stay, I camped with both my truck bed tent and a regular ground tent, and the property worked well for both setups. The campsite is gated for extra security and feels private and peaceful.
The location is another major advantage. It is right by Haleʻiwa, making it convenient for exploring the North Shore while still having a quiet place to return to at the end of the day.
Overall, it’s a comfortable, quiet campsite with clean amenities, security (gated), useful shared spaces, and a North Shore location that is hard to beat.

The welcome was great, very detailed and the site has plenty of facilities for the price.
My daughter loved the various fruit trees on the farm and particularly loved feeding the goats.

Weekend Trip to The Kikala Waterfall Lodge
Wonderful cabin! WE loved hearing the river as we sat on the lanai and as we slept! The common-area building is fully stocked with cooking equipment, and there are two full bathrooms.
Swimming below the enarby waterfall on the property was a joy. But we were only there for less than 24 hours. I am sure there is much more!

Felt extremely safe and welcomed at this sparkling gem of a farm! We stayed in one of the safari tents and it was luxurious. I thought bugs might be a problem but they weren't at all. The shared bathroom is extremely clean and one of a kind, as is the outdoor shower. Highly encourage taking a "black light" flashlight and walking the farm in the dark. They scattered stones around the gravel that glow when you hit them with the black light! The ground of the outdoor shower also has glow in the dark paint and makes the shower surreal. Overall, this place is magical, the hosts are kind and treat you with Aloha. The entire land and structures here are built and maintained with such thoughtfulness and love.
Highlights are definitely the outdoor shower, the fresh fruit, and listening to the beautiful afternoon rain shower hitting all the banana leaves, foliage, and roof of the safari tent.
The most relaxed I've felt in awhile. Will absolutely be returning. ❤️ Mahalo nui, Kristian, Jenny, and Nathan.

The property was beautiful and the team was welcoming and accommodating. The yurt was perfect and we slept wonderfully.
We will only book this place again on future trips. Highly recommend!

2 nights at Hamakua Guesthouse
We stayed in 3 places on the island and this was by far our favorite. There was plenty of space, it was clean and lovely, well stocked kitchen, and the setting was beautiful including the swimming hole with waterfall! (which sadly we didn't get to go in as we were out so much)...as others have said, I would have liked to have stayed there longer and just enjoyed the property. Everything about it was easy and convenient. They even had a TV and DVD collection- though we were mostly offline for our week in Hawaii, it was perfect to watch a silly. movie on one of the nights. Would definitely go back, thank you Hamakua Guest House (Rover View Family House)!

I loved the tent camping. Great views of the stream and the farm with some friendly feathered guests. Plenty of room for several tents, campfire, and the outdoor kitchen area is amazing to have, along with the bathroom. This is our second time staying here and we would be back.

4 nights at Gorgeous Views-Farm-Jungle-Ocean
We had a magnificent stay at this homestead from start to finish! Jess was flexible in working with us on our arrival time and we were able to work out doing a mixture of the treehouse experience (truly unique spot with amazing views) and staying in another spot on the property which was helpful as we went to a wedding at nearby Kualoa Ranch and it was nice to have some additional amenities for (e.g., shower, mirror). If you have questions about the land or your stay, Jess is very easeful and kind to work with. For me, this is an excellent location as your ready to drive that beautiful coast to the North Shore while still close to town in windward. Highlights of the site were listening to the rain while treehouse napping, hanging with animals on the property - goats, cats, dog, chickens and turkeys, birdwatching, plant observing, and interacting with other campers. I would absolutely stay here again and hope to soon :)

2 nights at Hamakua Guesthouse
This little gem was absolutely lovely. It had everything we needed for a couple nights on the big island. The fact that it had a clean, fully functional bathroom and running, hot water was a huge draw for us. Being able to fall asleep to the sound of the creek was incredibly peaceful. We were able to get the jungle camping feel, but get back on the plane clean and refreshed. Absolutely would recommend.
