This is a breathtaking space that our family has poured many decades and multiple generations into. We are surrounded by jungle, with a freshwater stream running through the entire property and unobstructed mountain views. If you’re especially sensitive to mosquitos, bugs, geckos, free roaming chickens or other elements to be expected in nature, this might not be the place for you. Waimanalo is a small agricultural town filled with nurseries, horse stables, and a high concentration of Hawaiian homes. It remains mostly undeveloped and authentic, and we aim to keep it that way. Outsiders do not often get the opportunity to stay back here, but we welcome respectful travelers looking for an authentic experience who can appreciate this privilege. While nestled against the mountains, we're just a five minute drive from the beach. We are fifteen minutes from Kailua town, where you'll find several grocery stores, shops, and restaurants. This is a working farm. While we are very hospitable, we are not in the business of hospitality. I am happy to accommodate travelers, but I am not here at your beck and call. If that is the experience you are seeking, I think you would be happier elsewhere. We appreciate all of your bookings, and profits go directly back into farm infrastructure and new fruit trees. Thank you for looking!

Totonami Farm is a small, hands-on farm rooted in respect for the land and the rhythms of Hawaiʻi, shaped by soil, waves, and time. We keep bees, grow food for our own self-production, and work every day toward greater food sovereignty and resilience. What we grow and raise is meant not only to sustain us but also to support and inspire others. Our approach is simple and intentional: organic practices, pesticide-free cultivation, and a commitment to working as close to off-grid as possible. We believe in caring for the soil, honoring the ecosystem, and giving back to the land that gives us so much every day. We love sharing this place and the opportunity to experience what it means to work with the land in Hawaiʻi—whether that’s learning, observing, helping out, or simply slowing down and reconnecting with nature. Totonami Farm is about community, stewardship, and growing together.

We are an off-grid intentional community in the rainforest of East Hawaii in the Puna district. We have acres of tropical fruit trees, clumping bamboo, bananas, and other plants. We have about 20 different tropical breeze houses, which are hand-made, screened-in structures nestled into the forest along walking trails. We're at the end of a 3-mile-long unpaved road, so we are very secluded and have little outside noise. We are not a bed-and-breakfast, we are not a farm, we are not a place looking to rent cabins — we are an intentional community and Permaculture homestead whose primary mission is healing, activating, and living our holistic hearts in a multigenerational, bonded community. We are growing a holistic culture and creating a beautiful world together. We want to share this place and find partners in our mission/play/joy (both short and long term). We have a men's dorm and a women's dorm and breezehouses for couples and families. We do allow camping, but we rarely have it happen. People usually sleep in our buildings. We have two communal kitchens, a living room, dining rooms, communal showers, and lots of space to explore nature.

Earthsong Hawai’i is an eco-retreat and organic food forest spread across three acres that has maintained its wild tropical nature. Arriving into the land feels like entering into the forest. We are surrounded by macadamia nut orchards lined with giant pine trees. The rear of the property, which faces southeast, opens to pasture lands with unobstructed views of the Pacific ocean. Located in the magnificently biodiverse Ka’u, this is the largest and least populated district of Hawaii county, located on the island of Hawai’i otherwise known as the Big Island. Home to some of the island's most sought after destinations; The Green Sands Beach, Black Sands Beach, and Volcano National Park.Want to travel to Hawai’i affordably and leave a positive impact on the environment and local community? Are you seeking nature therapy? A peaceful place to pen your novel or practice your art? Or are you wanting to spend time learning more about permaculture, organic gardening, and sustainable living? For you, we open our ecological community space and healing sanctuary. During your stay we can leave you to enjoy the land in solitude or you are welcome to practice yoga, garden, and talk story with us when we are available. We can also customize a private retreat for you, if you are seeking a personalized stay that includes a program of activities and offerings. We welcome solo travelers, partners, friends, and families from around the world who want to live in harmony with the earth and practice the art of living simply. We are a 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to serving our Mother Earth.
