2 nights at Risin' RV

If you’re driving an RV into Atlanta there isn’t a more hospitable place to stay than Rik’s Risin’ RV. Before arrival Rik was in touch with up to date check-in instructions and on the property when we arrived. The property is safe, very well organized- Rik and his colleagues have put in a ton of work to ensure every visitor feels comfortable and secure within the property confines. Risin’ RV is super convenient to anywhere you’d want to get to in the city. It is on a popular street, with a bus stop across from the property, so one should be aware that this is urban camping and traffic sounds are present. We felt very fortunate though to find a place to park ourselves while visiting Atlanta! Thanks to Rik and all for the very warm welcome and stay we received! We’ll return whenever we travel through Atlanta!

5 nights at ATL OASIS RV Parking & Campgrounds

A camp spot in the city. But you do not feel like you are in the city. The owner was very responsive to any issues. The closest spot to be near the airport area. I didn’t check before I reserved that it was 30amp. But was able to have an adapter delivered. For a longer rig just make sure you are more comfortable in your backing in. Ours is a 36’ trailer and we were fine.

This was a very nice, secluded area next to a running creek. We enjoyed the one night we stayed and will definitely go again if our travels allow.

Weekend Trip to Stone Mountain Glamping Site

The glampsite at Kim and Trina’s farm is truly a sanctuary in the middle of Atlanta. Not only is the set up a scenic getaway, but the hospitality that Kim and Trina create is truly unmatched. I will be coming back in the future when I visit Atlanta again. Lois

2 nights at Piney Hills Campground

This place was nothing short of amazing. We booked tent site #3 and upon arrival, the space was clean and ready to go with two beautiful ponies as neighbors! Lisa & staff were extremely helpful and if you are lucky enough, you might even get a visit from Loki, the farm working dog! We were able to visit a number of other farm animals that were ready to see us. Outhouse/bath area was very clean which made this trip feel like a luxury while being nestled in nature. Needless to say, we did not want to leave. Will definitely be back!

Weekend Trip to Brooks Lake, a piece of Heaven

The property is beautiful and clean. Having electricity at campsites was a bonus. At night, the campground was quiet. The owners are very helpful and quick response time on needs or questions. Bathrooms were clean. Great family camping location!

Weekend Trip to Aquino acres

Looking to stay close to Atlanta on a budget? Lindsay has a great peaceful spot to camp at for a great price. Only 30 minutes out from ATL and plenty of food/gas stations near the stay. The land is well maintained and nice to tent camp on.

Weekend Trip to Towaliga River Retreat

Our group enjoyed tent camping! It's located in between two shower/toilet facilities. Keep in mind the river is viewable from tent sites, but it is directly in front of the cabins (widely spaced for maximum viewing).. The bathrooms were clean. The kids enjoyed splashing in the water by cabin one, and the baby goats at the mill. The adults liked walking into the town for lunch and buying gifts at the little shops from The Whistle Stop Cafe. We'd tent camp at the site again closer to fall, but I think we'll rent a few cabins on the river next time. Yes, the loud trains do come by at night. We were prepared with noise canceling headphones after reading past posts. I highly suggest packing earplugs, noise canceling headphones, or noise dampening device to help. We all had a wonderful time. It's a really short drive getting out of the perimeter.

Weekend Trip to Secluded Riverbend Camp

This was a great site that is close to Atlanta for a quick overnight. There was plenty of room to get our teardrop trailer in place. Plenty of level ground for an additional tent if needed. The site is situated between a river and a good sized rocky creek. Our dogs enjoyed splashing around!

3 nights at Towaliga River Retreat

Nice facilty. Clean showers/restrooms. Train was about 100 feet away, came through 5-6 times through the night. Weather was way too cold. Had to get hotel room for two of our three night stay.

Weekend Trip to Piney Hills Campground

Sweet camp spot which suited our needs perfectly after our visit to Pasaquan. Tiny A-frame was clean as were the showers. Quiet and peaceful. Morning coffee in the office was a welcome extra. A little challenging to find at night (it’s dark in the country!) but it made for incredible star-gazing.

Weekend Trip to Stone Mountain Glamping Site

This is the perfect place to stay if you’re looking to glamp right outside of atlanta. It was only a 15 min drive to decatur and 25 to atlanta. The host was very nice and communicative. We had everything we needed and I would recommend!

Weekend Trip to Piney Hills Campground

Lisa and James were welcoming and hospitable. The site is nice with fire places, picnic tables and bbqs. the bathrooms are very clean. We loved the animals!

2 nights at Risin' RV

Rik has a great little place. It served us well. Close to Downtown Atlanta, and close to our friends in the area. Rik has a Jem in the rough, by the way everything we needed he was able to provide.

2 nights at Piney Hills Campground

We enjoyed our two day stop here. The solitude was refreshing. Everyone was super friendly (not overly so). Loki the camp mascot does an amazing job of greeting guests including the 4 legged furry variety. My schnauzer is a bark first kind of pup. It only took a few moments and they were the best of friends. The facilities and sites are clean and well organized. This is a relatively new campground and I look forward to seeing how it grows. Thanks for a wonderful escape.

1 night at Piney Hills Campground

We enjoyed our stay for spring break. Property was ideal for us. My daughter loved all the animals. We went on a night hike up the hill to take in the dark sky.

Sowing Seeds of Peace

It is 20.54 acres peacefully located between big land owners on each side, and a creek that runs through the middle that separates north from south pieces. Our trails are groomed and some just deer worn. We have one camp site that is rural and rustic. There is a bucket for the restroom and antique, old white kitchen sink for hand washing just outside it. There is no running water yet, but working on getting a water reservoir out there asap. No electricity yet a single power cord could be run for extra $10.00 for your visit. There is a fire pit close to the tent spot on, “Skip’s Campsite”. Another camp site” Aqua-Fine-A” that has a walk in creek access, and you have to cross the creek to get to that one. It is farther away from “Skip’s bathroom access. It has a more established flag stone fire pit. It is our original primitive sight. There is no water reservoir or possibility of electricity at “Aqua-Fine-A” campsite. Everything must be packed in and out on foot. Both sights require a hike to campsites on foot with uneven rooted trails. {You are welcome to use our well loved red wheelbarrow to haul items in}. There is access to a bigger fire pit “M & M fire pit”, and a propane grill option (this is first come first serve/sharing spot). More campsites developing over time and there is a massage practitioner on site if you are looking for the whole experience (29 years experience in healing modalities and shamanic blood line). If you are looking to experience nature cabin style then, “The Minor Escape” is for you. This has a full refrigerator, full stand up filtered water shower, kitchen sink, separate master, two bedroom lofts with ladder access, kitchen sink, ceiling fans, window a/c units for summer and space heaters for winter (Eden pure heater that shows fireplace flames). Our family loves this land and there is always new areas being cultivated in various spots. You will see us out there either with our hobby farm of animals, gardening or building a new area. I am a teacher, guide, artist, and healer. This land is sacred and magical. It is used to heal, restore, inspire and rejuvenate many locally and internationally.

Risin' RV

Our 501(c)(3) Non-Profit campsite has soft opening under way! This means we don't have many frills, but we are by far the closest RV site to central Atlanta, and the only one on MARTA public transit (right outside the gate). We are a rare gem in this city. One of the last areas that have been allowed to return to nature after being farmed until the 1960s. We are surrounded by 100s of acres of parkland, and yet are only 5 minutes drive from almost everything you will need. You will see the hand cut terraces put in by the farm workers and then the forest has spent the last 50 years taking it back. Still lots of old growth trees around though. The county just purchased/swapped 50 more acres to go with the hundreds more under it's watch. There is a 14 mile concrete trail that runs behind the property and all the way out along the south river. Quite the hike or bike if you fancy a good walk. There is a 18 hole golf course, sports fields, public pool and YMCA type community center all along the trail and walking distance from the campsite. We are a 501c3 non-profit church that is still in the early days of it's mission. Your donation to our site helps fund our mission and keeps the lights on. We are massively focussed on permaculture as the only sustainable way of life and rapidly moving towards being totally carbon neutral. You will be up close on our early days and see our Solar Roof Cabin (a total of 300 panels and 70kW output when completed). We make a lot of our infrastructure from windfallen and site development trees that are cut and shaped on our own electric sawmill. Much of the rest of the renovations are done using upcycled and donated materials. We are working towards: Total energy and water independence Total structural material independence Food independence via aquaponic farming Providing solar powered refrigerated space to local food distros Providing local kids (and adults) access to training on permaculture and living with minimal impact on the planet. Search for arrowheads, explore the dense hardwood bottomlands and swamps near the Echeconnee creek once home to Muskovee Indian tribes. Forage for many species of mushrooms! WE NOW HAVE FREE FIBER OPTICS WIFI!!! Sun Valley is located just 10 minutes southwest of Macon Georgia. We are WORKING EQUESTRIAN CENTER that welcomes visitors and campers! We are an Arabian Horse Discovery Farm which trains horses and riders to show in many different riding styles expressing the versatility of the Arabian horse! The back of our farm runs along the Echeconnee Creek which was once inhabited by Native Americans. We have found many arrow and spearheads here and we are just 20 minutes from the Ocmulgee Indian Mounds where they host a festival each September. BRING YOUR HORSES TO RIDE THE TRAILS! The Echeconnee swamp is home to Blue Herons, Snowy Egrets and Bald Eagles among many other species of Wildlife. Our 86 acres of lush shady Bridle paths wind along the creek with tributaries to splash through on hot days. Enjoy the flora and fauna of Georgia's rich bottom lands and huge virgin hardwoods. Mushroom hunters PARADISE with golden Chanterelles, Lions Mane and Oyster mushrooms are abundant! Feel free to harvest whatever the land provides as a perk for your stay! For the ghost hunters~ many boarders and neighbors have seen a floating lady in a long white dress.. we call her the "white witch". She has always felt friendly. Often when traversing the trails at night we have found areas with severe temperature drops. We are far enough away from town to have spectacular viewing of stars and planets for the astronomy buffs! Experience the life on an Arabian show horse facility for a few days! We have 20 am electrical hook up, hot and cold water in the horses wash racks. a public restroom with sink/toilet. We have a charcoal grill, and a fire pit. Feel free to gather wood from anywhere on the property for the fire pit. Bring charcoal lighter to get the fire going unless you are a primitive survivalist. WE ALSO HAVE A PLAYGROUND FOR SMALL CHILDREN! We do NOT have a public shower but the Love's station is 3 miles away and they have several super nice showers available at their truck stop! The barn lounge has a full size fridge and microwave, ceiling fan for relaxing and watching the lessons and horse training! Sign up for a few lessons while you are here! (when an instructor has an opening, must book in advance) Bring your own horses and ride the trails! **warning** there are a few weeks mid summer in the South when the deer flies are swarming and the trails are not good for riding horses! Meet our beautiful Friesian stallion! INCREDIBLE photo ops! We have huge open spaces for turning large RV's and horse trailers with living quarters around and many huge shade trees to park under. WE DO NOT HAVE 30amp electrical hook ups but have had many large RV's turn off their hot water heaters and use propane on their fridges and the 20 amp circuit was plenty to power the rest of their RV. Fiber optic wifi coming March 8th 2024 for better wifi service!
