The Neature Preserve (formerly known as "Tabby's Trees") consists of 74 acres made up mostly of pine forest situated in the coastal plain. A creek runs along the western boundary of the property with an ephemeral (seasonal) wetland to the southwest. The overstory of the forest is dominated by loblolly and slash pine with a few longleaf pine sprinkled in, as well as turkey oak, live oak, laurel oak, and sweetgum. We have ~1.5 miles of trails that wind through a variety of ecosystems (trails can hiked or biked). The property has three primitive camping sites. Two of the sites are for tent camping only (where you would park your car along the hiking trail and then follow a separate path to get to the campsite), with one site that has enough space to park multiple cars or small camper right at the campsite.
The Neature Preserve is all about restoring native habitat! Prescribed fire is used at The Preserve to safely and efficiently restore and maintain productive ecosystems and to support our native plant and animal species. This camp site is wonderful. It is a private primitive camp site. Quiet, peaceful, in its natural state. An immersion and still close to Twin city with necessities. Iwas just passing through the state and car camping. It was perfect for a quiet and safe place to get s good mights sleep before moving back on the road. I didn't have time to explore. I could picture at least one full day of exploration. Maybe there will be a next time.

My stay was excellent! Very secluded off the main path but still within range of conveniences. A very widespread property with several spacious RV hook ups as well as two cabins. My RV hook up overlooked a good sized pond and there are tons of amenities for children to explore. Tree forts, trails, kayaks and boats for the pond. The entire property is gated for security, which is nice, and very well kept. The host was wonderful and very attentive. I've already planned a return trip in September!

Wonderful place to camp with the horses right there to interact with. The family is very friendly and helpful, good communication before and after arrival. The campsite is next to the barn and pasture so not a shaded spot, but beautiful property and the sunset was amazing.
We will definitely stay again when in the area.
The Hipcamp app has the location wrong on Maps but we got the address from Durand and got there in the end.

Clean site, quiet, power only 50 amp plug bring adapter if you have 30amp , water, sewer good.. must haul trash out with you. But not an issue. The cover and concrete pad was great. I had to back in from the main road with 26ft toy hauler fit fine with one sideout. Full rig is 43ft long.

We overall enjoyed our time! The spot was very secluded so that was a pro. We were able to walk over by the bathhouse to sit and fish. Only negative is that the picnic table was completely destroyed upon arrival and the river was low and kayaking wouldn’t have been possible if it was high either.
