This creek property was probably used by the Creek and then the Cherokee as a campsite because of the abundant water and wild life. Later is was farm land and in the 1920's had approximately fifty mules working the land. The Old barn and blacksmith shop are still here. In 1977 the government planned to put a four lane toll road through here but was stopped by the oil embargo which caused the right of way to be auctioned. We were able to buy 200 acres for a small amount of money and have been raising cattle and camping on it every since that time. As a Scout Master I have been using this site for camping for the past 15 years. Time to let others enjoy. Learn more about this land: Pitch your tent or hammock in a grove of hardwood trees in a nice meadow on the banks of Lake Creek with old timey swimming hole. It is about 8 feet deep in center going to about 4' at sides and 20 feet long. Big stone grill is provided as well as large fire pit. Kindling and firewood is provided. ten minute walk to the main house for potable water and other needs.  37 acre farm with hills and a wide variety of wildlife and plants to inspect. Camp is in rural area couple hundred yards off county road but secluded. Plenty of deer, turkey, geese, wild ducks, beaver and other wild life in the area. A secondary campsite is provided down the creek with area for tent near creek. Fire pit and firewood is provided.

Little River is considered to be the purest, natural flowing river in the state. Bring your fishing gear and kayaks. Sit on the rocks at the base of the waterfall under the rhododendrons and holly trees, and wade in the water in the warm months. Park on the side of the road in front of the Cynefin sign. There are solar lights illuminating the path to the tent if you arrive after dark. There you will find a that you can use to bring your luggage down. Other things to note • The river will rise and fall depending on how much rain we are getting. It tends to be lower late summer to early fall. We cannot guarantee water levels. • This is primitive off grid camping. There's no electricity or running water. We recommend bringing a portable battery pack to charge devices. • Please be respectful of any wildlife (there are white tail deer, raccoons, weasels, harmless black snakes, mink, foxes, coyotes, many birds, and the extremely, and we do mean extremely, rare black bear), while fishing in the little river is allowed, hunting is prohibited.

Spacious, private, AND still close to town and the interstate. 10 acres total creates a little paradise in the middle of town. Enjoy panoramic raised tree views with beautiful sunrises. While here, you can enjoy outdoor access to all ten acres including a nice scenic driveway and walk and a pasture down by the road. We are conveniently located close to East Ridge, Ringgold, and Fort Oglethorpe, with downtown Chattanooga only 25 minutes away. NOTE: Driveway access is paved and curving on an incline. It is a little steeper near the end as pictured. It’s 12 feet wide and a little wider around the curves for extra room. We have pulled trailers and a 20 foot uhaul up through there with no issue. NOTE: Our two dogs are free range when they are let out of the main house. This is why we aren’t pet friendly for bookings. They are quiet and harmless, but if you are averse to animals around be aware.

Lots of fun just minutes away: Terrapin creek, DeSoto State Park, Little River Canyon, Pirates Bay Water Park all close by. Decks and docks restaurant is a short 2 minute drive or boat ride away. Cherokee Rock Village is a short 25 minute drive away.

Don’t hesitate to book here! Kat and her entire family are the kindest people. They made sure I was well accommodated and really went above and beyond to make my work trip go a little smoother. I am a single woman that travels alone for work so often times, finding safe places to stay can be overwhelming. I felt safe from the moment I parked and met Ms. Dale. This is a very nice spot, but there are a few things I wish we had known in advance. It doesn’t have the privacy we hoped for, as the two campsites are less than 100 feet apart with very few trees in between. Next time, we’ll rent both campsites so we have it all to ourselves. There’s a rooster nearby that starts getting very active around 4:30 AM. Also, the creek has no current so it gets very buggy - bring plenty of bug spray! Some firewood was supplied but wasn’t chopped, and it wasn’t kept under cover… fortunately it hadn’t rained in awhile so it wasn’t too wet to burn, but I wish we had brought an axe.

Weekend Trip to Willow Belle Farm

Very large grassy site. It was gently sloped - be prepared to use levelers or blocks. There was more than enough room for our 28’ rig and MINI Cooper toad. It was very peaceful and quiet - we enjoyed listening to the owls at night. Jonathon is a great host. He reached out to be sure we had everything we needed and we were glad to meet him and his friendly, happy pups. We will definitely stay here again if in the area.

If my dog could use Hipcamp, he would book this site every week. Great shady space for camping and relaxing. The outhouse looks good- clean and well-kept. We saw deer when driving around, and someone's Pyrenees came by to check us out but didn't engage with my dog.

We've stayed at many farms before, but this one is truly special. The love shown to these animals is clearly reflected in the animals personalities. Such sweeties! The hosts were incredibly genuine as well. It was so refreshing to spend time here, not just for the nature aspect, but the hospitality and connection to the animals. The kids and I are already planning our next trip. Also, the stars and privacy are a bonus!

This is a great spot for a private camping weekend. We have a reactive dog and really wanted to be able to take him camping for a weekend where he could enjoy the water and this was the perfect spot for that. We didn’t see a single other person except a few neighbors driving in and out. It was very quiet and peaceful. The spot is very flat to park on and has a great view of the lake. We really enjoyed our time here and would come back. The only downside is the ants, which the host was very forthcoming about ahead of time so this is really more of a “come prepared / nice to know” than a con for this site. The host was also very communicative before and during our stay!
