The Neature Preserve (formerly known as "Tabby's Trees") consists of 74 acres made up mostly of pine forest situated in the coastal plain. A creek runs along the western boundary of the property with an ephemeral (seasonal) wetland to the southwest. The overstory of the forest is dominated by loblolly and slash pine with a few longleaf pine sprinkled in, as well as turkey oak, live oak, laurel oak, and sweetgum. We have ~1.5 miles of trails that wind through a variety of ecosystems (trails can hiked or biked). The property has three primitive camping sites. Two of the sites are for tent camping only (where you would park your car along the hiking trail and then follow a separate path to get to the campsite), with one site that has enough space to park multiple cars or small camper right at the campsite.
The Neature Preserve is all about restoring native habitat! Prescribed fire is used at The Preserve to safely and efficiently restore and maintain productive ecosystems and to support our native plant and animal species. Though I wasn’t able to meet Catherine in person, she was always available and very personable. The property is historic, and charming, with the biggest oak trees I’ve ever seen! We were provided with a fire ring, and ample firewood, and had an enjoyable stay. The dogs loved having room to roam, with a little bit of woods to explore.

We absolutely loved staying at Bliss Hill Farms...Karen and Mike were amazing hosts and we adored their farm dog Ava...She was so gentle, loving, and kind...She even accompanied us on a couple of our walks! It was so peaceful and beautiful here...we will stay here again if ever in the area!!

I will be back. The site was well maintained. Firewood is easily accessible if you pay for it, which was also super convenient. Very little to no light pollution or sound. Spaces are wide enough to feel private and the site is easy to find. The owner is very responsive. I definitely look forward to our next visit.
