This property has been in my family for decades. My Husband and I were married under the oaks and have had our share of campfires out there.
Down a hidden gravel drive with wetlands on either side you will find a completely fenced in field surrounded by pine, oak, and swamp maple trees. There are two ponds located on the property both stocked with bass, bluegill, and sunfish. The front pond is home to many natural Florida wildlife and is a great location to bird watch.
Located a few miles from Brooksville and the Suncoast Parkway, this quiet and peaceful setting is just 5 minutes from the parking area and trailhead for the Suncoast Trail and 10 miles from the famous Weeki Wachee Springs, where you can spend the day at the local park or float down the river with the manatees.
Withlacoochee State Park and other natural preserves with trail access and kayaking are only a short distance away, and Dames Cave, Homosassa Springs, and Chasawiska Springs are all within a ~20-minute drive as well. Spending a day at the beach is easy with plenty of options along the Nature Coast. We’re also less than an hour from Tampa and Clearwater and two hours from Orlando.
A perfect weekend get-away for anyone looking to “unplug,” Smokey Acres is also a great stop for those passing through the area. We are a close distance to many racing, livestock, boating and fishing events. We have no problem accommodating whatever you’re towing!

5645 Bay Boulevard is 2 blocks off US 19 in Port Richey Florida. The property is 1 mile east of the Gulf Of Mexico. There are 5 restaurants on the water that are a short ride bicycle, golf cart or 1 wheel ride away. One is a Hooters. Within 2 blocks is a Dunkin Donuts, Culvers and Hardees. Walmart is accessible without driving on 19. If you need fuel there is a WaWa and Walmart station. The Veteran's Expressway is a short drive east which makes a drive to the Tampa Fairgrounds less than 1 hour. We have a 50 amp covered full hook up spot, a 50 amp with water spot and 6 plus boondocking spots. We have a place to dump and refill the water tank. We aren't fancy, just very convenient.

This is a parking area for two seperatly rented RVs or campers. Each space is approximately 15ft x 40ft, a 33ft plus pull behinds will need expert driver to back in. The electrical hookup is 50 amp. If you have 30 amp, you will need to bring your own adapter. The area is under two large Oak trees giving plenty of shade. Electric and Water hook up is available. NO DUMP STATION! Extra parking for one vehicle only. If you have a trailer, a pull car and a second car the space is very tight, but can work. Basically this is a large parking area for the main home. The main home has a separate drive and garage parking so renters there will not be using your RV space. 5645 Bay Boulevard is 2 blocks off US 19 in Port Richey Florida. The property is 1 mile east of the Gulf Of Mexico. There are 5 restaurants on the water that are a short ride bicycle, golf cart or 1 wheel ride away. One is a Hooters. Within 2 blocks is a Dunkin Donuts, Culvers and Hardees. Walmart is accessible without driving on 19. If you need fuel there is a WaWa and Walmart station. The Veteran's Expressway is a short drive east which makes a drive to the Tampa Fairgrounds less than 1 hour. This is a parking area for two seperatly rented RVs or campers. Each space is approximately 15ft x 40ft, a 33ft plus pull behinds will need expert driver to back in. The electrical hookup is 50 amp. If you have 30 amp, you will need to bring your own adapter. The area is under two large Oak trees giving plenty of shade. Electric and Water hook up is available. NO DUMP STATION! This location is close to the head springs and Ellie Schiller Homosassa Springs Wildlife State Park where you can discover the wild side of Florida with endangered Florida panther, red wolf, manatee and whooping crane, plus black bear, bobcat and, of course, alligator.
The site is located 150 ft from the dock on our private residential property at the head of the springs, the dock is not visible from the site you do have to walk down to the dock area. This is a residential area and is very quiet. You can see the layout of the property in the photos from an aerial view as well as other photos of the setup.
This listing is for the SITE ONLY. Setup your own RV under the shade then enjoy our shared dock with direct access into the Homosassa springs for a refreshing dip or paddle. Stayed one night and everything was perfect. Easy to find and good locaton. We walked in the evening to the marina and ate at the Monkey bar overlooking monkey island which we really enjoyed. The next morning we had an airboar ride with River Safaris which is next door and saw Dolphins and other wildlife. We had a great stay at Charles place and Homosassa. Would highly recommend.

Great campsite, not too remote, and great privacy. Bathroom is maintained and restocked with paper and soap. Our campsite had plenty of room and felt safe. No wild animals were nearby, and campsite had its own trash. Despite an ongoing burn ban, we were still able and allowed to grill.

I loved it there! So quiet and peaceful. The camp ground is nostalgic and small. The bathroom and shower could use some help (to be honest), but the running water by the cabin seems to be well-water, cold, and very fresh. A quick well-water shower behind the cabin was refreshing and lovely. Centrally located to lots of area hiking and things to do. Historic Brooksville was adorable and I highly recommend having brunch at the Lazy Maid Creperie, voted #1 restaurant in Brooksville. I would definitely come back to this camp ground and utilize the cabin again. I also liked the primitive camp sites and only a short walk from parking. My entire experience was two thumbs up.

There are nice facilities here to support a kayak/canoe fishing trip. The hot shower was really nice after a day out in the marsh, and the hose was great to be able to rinse down the gear. There was plenty of room for our tents in the grass and a couple convenient trees for a hammock near the dock. While you can put a canoe or kayak in the creek right at the camp, the Mason Creek boat ramp is only about a mile away and saves a bit of paddling to get out to the marsh. The common area under the house is really cool. We were the only ones there, so we had it to ourselves. Ceiling fans help keep the air moving and the bugs down. There is hot and cold water and electrical outlets. It was nice to have firewood there as well, and we ended up having a fire both nights (wood is a bit extra and can be purchased through HC). Highly recommend this option if you are exploring the Homosassa area and we will definitely be back.

Second time staying here.
I had plans to stay at another state campsite, but three gate code was not working. Luckily, on a moment notice, Smokey Acres was available.
The campsite was clean, quiet, beautiful. Bathroom facilities were decent. Site was level. Slight noise from traffic. No complaints. Its an easy weekend get away.
My wife was able to set up her telescope for some night photography and I got plenty of reading time.
I'm pretty sure a 3rd stay will happen in the next few months.

Great getaway from the big cities, but everything you need nearby! Tracey’s site is within walking distance to the river for quick access for canoeing or kayaking. This site is quiet and spacious, while also fenced in for your pet’s safety. You’ll wake up to the sandhill cranes everyday! All of the neighbors are extremely friendly as well. T-Mobile cell service is 1-3 bars, Verizon cell service is 2 bars and T-Mobile home internet is 2 bars.

Great place to stay for a couple of nights during our trip. The space was exactly as described and well priced. The hosts were friendly and quick to respond. It felt safe, was easy to get in and out of, and was conveniently located near several parks we wanted to visit, with plenty of shopping options nearby. The Gypsy Garden is a great spot for someone looking for privacy, the fenced in site is very large. Site came with potable water spigot with hose, fire ring, a few chairs/small tables, and a picnic table. Fellow campers were respectful and quiet at night. There's a single stall bathroom with a flush toilet that could use better upkeep. Host's detailed driving directions were helpful. The campground is within earshot of a road so expect to hear some road noise. Remote enough to hear owls and sandhill cranes. I would recommend to those looking for a rustic camping experience and would stay here again.

Crystal River
About 40 minutes north of Weeki Wachee, Crystal River has one of the most accessible springs sites in all of Florida. Hillsborough River State Park

Gulf Coast Beaches
Beautiful white-sand Gulf Coast beaches sit about an hour south of Weeki Wachee at Honeymoon Island State Park. Meanwhile, neighboring Caladesi Island State Park, accessible by ferry, makes for an adventurous day trip of snorkeling, shelling, swimming, and sunsets. For developed Gulf Coast beaches and additional tent camping and RV camping options, continue on to Clearwater.
When to go
Because it’s a popular family destination, Weeki Wachee Springs State Park gets crowded during spring break, summer break, and on weekends. Otherwise, mild fall, winter, and spring temperatures make for excellent camping. Summers are humid, rainy, and have highs exceeding 90°F—this is when campers may prefer an RV or air-conditioned lodging to a tent. Summer and fall are also hurricane season in Florida, when visitors must keep an eye on storm forecasts.
