Located near I-75 just 20 miles South of Tampa, 35 miles east of Saint Petersburg, 35 miles North of Sarasota, 2 hours West of Orlando. This property is home to a farm/nursery operation and has a large pond on the west side. The pond is Spring-fed at the headwaters of Marsh Branch Creek which begins at our property and flows West about five miles in to Tampa Bay. Approximately 33 private acres allows for plenty of space between our campsites. Property is home to a farm with hundreds of fruit trees- Lychee, Mango, Starfruit, Papaya, Guava). Red Mombin, and thousands of banana plants. Fishing can be great, wildlife and bird watching too. Fenced and gated for safety, this old historic nursery property has good vibes and plenty to offer. Until you see it - you really may not understand. Parts of property are wide open, other areas are rugged and difficult to walk through including some wetland areas. The nursery has plenty of trees, and some fields -the large pond is surrounded by cattails and marsh/wetlands and has fish (Bass, Tilapia, Sunfish, Catfish). Most people come to stay either in our rental cottage or in their horse trailers/RVs with their horses to ride the awesome trails in the 20,000+ acre adjacent Croom Forest. However, because our ranch is so peaceful, many stay here without horses just to enjoy the peace and quiet. There are many opportunities to recreate in the area, including outstanding mountain and road biking, OHVing, hiking, golfing, and canoeing/kayaking. Many full-time and working RVers stay for extended periods. Note that our camping area is small and intimate, so you will be close to other campers. We have 5 30-amp hookups, and 2 50-amp hookups; if you need 50-amp service, please request it. This place is absolutely fantastic. The campsites are so well maintained, the scenery is incredible & Paul is the best (make sure you get to hear one of his jokes after you check in). There are beautiful longhorns roaming around the campsites and goats in a pen you can go feed. Oh and the bathrooms? Impeccable. So clean and very nice. Truly cannot recommend this place enough. We will be back!!!

We have been there on three separate occasions. Each has been a very pleasant and relaxing experience. We like to Boondock, and if we need air conditioning, we run our generators, but the property is ideal for enjoying nature, long walks, fishing, enjoying the plants, the wildlife, including the two little black pigs that run around lol ….the site is close to everything if you have to leave to go get supplies and come back it’s very easy and convenient to do so Mike is great and has always treated us very well. We look forward to our next visit.

Lots of open flat land to choose from by the pond. Fruit trees cover the area, local bees making honey. We enjoyed seeing the pigs, chickens and giny hens. It was a nice relaxed 2 nights. For those that may under pack, or forget stuff, this farm is minutes from the loud world.

Weekend Trip to Wilderness Shores Ranch Campground!

It was an absolutely amazing experience. We woke up one morning with Texas longhorns and calfs eating grass right outside our tent. The next morning is was horses and a donkey. Not behind a fence or where you had to walk to see them. Roaming right around your camping site. Our board game was interrupted when a group of goats came and joined us at the table and wanted to see what we were doing. The atmosphere was amazing, staff friendly and helpful. Memories unforgettable. We will be back and already have friends asking us where we were at. Just bring extra shoes, cow patties are part of the experience.

Weekend Trip to By the Pond...

We had an absolutely lovely time while camping here. We stayed at the site next to the dock, and if we hadn’t been fully attacked by a swarm of mosquitoes when we arrived on the first night while trying to set up our tent, and if it wasn’t hotter than hell the next day, I would say it was the perfect camping trip (both things that were out of our control and should not reflect on the land itself). The land itself was lovely, there was a fire pit and portopotties there for cooking and onsite bathrooms. Mike the host was also wonderful, very down to Earth caring guy who made sure we had everything we need, and also gave us some beautiful mangos and firewood from the land to use while were there, so thanks again Mike, your a great host. All in all we had a great time and I would definitely recommend this place for a nice peaceful camping getaway in the Tampa Bay Area. We’ll be back again :-)

We can’t wait to go back to Spotted Dance Ranch! Kym approved us quickly and was very communicative regarding directions, offered info on nearest grocery, restaurants and more. (It was easy to get in and out thanks to following host directions vs gps.) John was super helpful and answered all of our questions upon arrival as well. Leveling and set up was a breeze. Everything was well maintained and cared for. Our dogs enjoyed stretching their legs on the property after our dog show. We enjoyed the peaceful atmosphere after a hectic day too. 1000% would stay again, but next time we hope to stay longer so we have time to meet the horses. Don’t hesitate if you are considering booking here. It’s a great place to stay! John & Kym are wonderful hosts with a lovely ranch.

Weekend Trip to Wilderness Shores Ranch Campground!

Great place to get outdoors and enjoy a little bit of Gods country, Waking up to the Long Horns in your camp or the goats running around looking for a handout, it is the best possible disconnect from the daily grind! Bass fishing in the endless finger lakes was awesome, not just fishing but a little bit of catching. Horse back riding with Rachel was huge highlight that allowed us to see the entire property, a must do! Paul and his team work hard to provide the best possible experience in a peaceful setting to allow you to get back to the simple basics and enjoy what we take for granted! Take one night and treat yourself to one of the nice restaurants in downtown Lakeland ! Regards, Pat

9 nights at By the Pond...

Beautiful, lush tropical setting with amazing sunsets (no snakes or gators). The site I had was private and roomy with a fire ring. Primitive camping with every imaginable modern convenience just a few minutes away (Home Depot, Publix, WalMart, fast food, mexican, BBQ, etc. etc.) Host was kind, courteous, accommodating and knowledgeable. I was there to fish and I had my choice between fresh water on the property and excellent salt water ( in shore and out) very nearby. Not only would I go back but I plan to.
