After a late night out, I started my second day at The Oaks with an early coffee run and breakfast, then came back to soak in the scenery—and that’s when I was like I have to stay again. The property is incredibly quiet and beautiful, with a peaceful energy that’s hard to find. I hadn’t had much downtime the day before, but this morning gave me a chance to check things out.
I took a ride up to the Citrus Tower and enjoyed another coffee at their fantastic little shop, then spent the rest of the morning thrifting at local shops (always a favorite pastime). Later, I made my way to Lake Louisa—my absolute favorite spot in the area—and honestly, I want going to go there but I needed to see more nature. And it didn’t disappoint .
I’m already thinking about coming back for a longer stay just to relax and enjoy the peaceful surroundings. For anyone looking for a solid base near Disney but away from the “bubble”, or Clermont, or Orlando. This is the spot for you.
Oh, and I almost forgot so as I was walking around and the couple times that I came in and out on the driveway, I noticed the property has a bunch of hidden gems basically art. All hidden and nestled within the property in the trees, a bunch of purpose items which is right up my alley.

I booked last-minute for a quick trip that included visiting friends in Clermont and heading into downtown Orlando that evening. The location was ideal—just a few miles from my friends and close enough to Disney for easy back-and-forth drives.
The host asked me to text or call about 15 minutes before arrival so they could meet me at the road, wave me in, and guide me directly to my site. That kind of personal touch made arrival smooth and stress-free.
Though I didn’t spend much time at the property itself, I slept incredibly well. The site was quiet, stable, and felt safe—perfect for recharging. Everything was exactly as described, and the hosts were responsive and accommodating.

Very nice spot on a little pond with interesting birds to watch. Nice gadgets on the premises like swings and various lawn furniture. Good place to relax. Very friendly host. Definitely highly recommendable. Power, water on the site and great outdoor shower. Thank you for having us🙋🏼♀️

Loved this eclectic, beautiful spot! Wes met us upon arrival and was very welcoming. The site was nice and private with a view of the pond and a family of cranes that visited each evening. We found great hiking and biking trails within minutes, and we tried to watch a SpaceX launch but it kept getting scrubbed. Wes and Tanya were very responsive, offered fire wood for our campfire, and provided a place for trash and recycling. Definitely 5 stars and hope to return!

Our stay at Site 420 – Clermont / At Shady Oaks was absolutely fantastic! From the moment we reached out to Tanya and Wes, they were incredibly accommodating and welcoming. We had a few questions before booking, and they responded quickly, making the process seamless. They even allowed us to check in early, which was a huge plus for our family!
The site itself was perfect—nestled in a peaceful, natural setting with a beautiful view of the lake. We were lucky enough to see large herons with their babies right next to us, adding to the magic of the experience. It was the perfect spot to relax and soak in nature, all while being just a short drive from Mount Dora, which made for a great day trip.
Tanya and Wes went above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed. Their communication was fantastic, from providing clear directions to checking in on us to make sure we were comfortable. It’s clear they take great care in maintaining their property and making their guests feel at home.
We truly appreciate their kindness and hospitality and can’t wait to return. If you’re looking for a peaceful and well-maintained spot to camp with wonderful hosts, this is the place! Thank you, Tanya and Wes, for an amazing stay!

We loved camping on site 420. We overlooked the water and enjoyed the family of cranes and other wildlife. The directions to get there were easy to follow and Wes was great to show us around and gave extra information about where places were in town when we asked. Tanya and Wes are great hosts and their place was great! I would recommend this spot to everyone!

Shady Oaks is a wonderful setting for camping. Lots of wildlife to observe around their pond and property. You are in the country, but still close to Clermont and Winter Garden for restaurants, etc. Wes and Tanya truly enjoy sharing their property with others.

We stayed in site 420 right next to a lovely, clean pond, where two sand cranes were nesting. Very private spot with fabulous views in every direction. The lighting around the fire pit / kitchen area made it very festive and beautiful. Extremely well maintained. This was our 2nd visit and both times were exceptional, despite a little rain. Our hotspot worked great, and I visited the local library to download some movies. Good water, electric, easy in and out (lots of room to maneuver). Excellent hosts - friendly, there if we needed them, and left us to our peaceful retreat. Go!!!

This was a local staycation for me. Beautiful pond side space with 30amp power and water. Easy and spacious back in. Host was there to greet and give directions. Responded quickly to messages. Some road traffic and fire station nearby could be heard but not loud enough to be disturbing. I slept well. Nice fire pit and outdoor BBQ area. Outdoor solar shower available but I did not use as weather was about 40°😬. Publix grocery store about 5 miles away. Good access to Florida Turnpike. Highly recommend and will stay again.

Beautiful site. We booked this site for our daughter’s softball tournament at Hancock Park. We had a great time. The host was friendly and met us at the entrance. We had a 15 min drive to the ball fields, and it was nice to come back to camp & grill, play board games. & relax by a quiet fire after a long day of tournament play. The property is clean, quiet, dog friendly. We felt very safe. There is a super cute common area with large fire pit, outdoor kitchen and bathhouse. Our site (420) on the pond had its own fire pit and picnic table as well. Easy to get to, but feels rustic and exclusive. This was our first time Hipcamping and it was a great experience.
