Our three "SWEET TUPELO" R.V. campsites are located on 12 riverfront acres in the northern Panhandle of Florida on the historic Apalachicola River. The name “Sweet Tupelo” is taken from the Tupelo tree that grows exclusively in the floodplains and sloughs along the Apalachicola River. Local bees make their honey with the pollen of these trees creating many unique health and taste benefits found only in this part of the world. When you venture back into civilization, make sure you pick up a jar of Tupelo honey. You won’t be disappointed!

"Sweet Tupelo" is located roughly halfway between Apalachicola and Chattahoochee, at the river's mile marker 60. This river is Florida's LARGEST by volume of water, stretching 103 miles from the FL/GA border in Chattahoochee to the historic fishing village of Apalachicola on the Gulf coast.

Step back in time and disconnect on this private, .25 acre fenced in lot, directly across from Fisherman's Landing in the secluded Howard Creek Community. Has 2 full hook up sites and both have 30 and 50 amp service. Come alone or bring a friend with their RV. Water is serviced from a private well. If you are not familiar with well water, make sure to bring your bottled water for drinking. Cell phone service is very spotty and there's no WiFi. But walk across the street to the upper landing store and they might allow you to access their WiFi. Take a short walk or drive down the road and there's good Verizon service.
RV sites are graveled and there is a fire pit avaibable. Please do NOT use the stacked wood on site. You must bring your own. PLEASE do not throw or burn garbage in pit.
Pets are allowed, but PLEASE pick up their waste.

One acre with an area of 80x120 fenced in the eclectic fishing community of Howard Creek. DOG FRIENDLY! You can put your boat in just 5 minutes away. Howard Creek is located just 20 minutes from the St Joe Bay for saltwater fishing or access to the Gulf of Mexico, 15 minutes from the Intracoastal waterway access at White City, FL and 35 minutes from the Dead Lakes in Wewahitchka, FL.
Flat site partially tucked behind some trees and set back 80 feet off of the sand street. Well water hookup, septic capabilities with macerator (lav pump), electric with 30 and 50 amp at the box on the pole (approx. 100 feet from primary parking spot) or 30 amp at the parking spot, corner of pole barn. COLD water shower and sink available. There is a pole barn on the property with our camper stored under it. You're welcome to use the remaining space under the pole barn for your leisure, approximately 20x35 ft.
We're dog people! Your dogs are welcome but must supervised while you're away from the property. We have some wonderful neighbors and do not want to disturb them.
There are security cameras present on the property.
This is a wonderful "Forgotten Coast" region of the Florida panhandle with so much to see and do within minutes. This area took a direct hit from Hurricane Michael in 2018 and has worked hard at recovery, with so much rebuilding and growth over the last few years.
Howard Creek is an eclectic little fishing community made up of a variety of residents from weekend fishers, summer or winter visitors and full time residents. This little golf cart community offers a small general store, a small community church, a volunteer fire department and two landings to put your boat in.
Just 20 minutes from the quaint little beach town of Port Saint Joe, Florida. PSJ is known for its warm, welcoming people, old world Florida feel, dog-friendly beaches, Cape San Blas and Indian Pass. Many locally owned wonderful restaurants, bakeries and shops. It's easy to find a charter out of PSJ if you're interested in fishing! If you leave our site and head north, you're just 35 minutes from the Dead Lakes in Wewahitchka; some gorgeous old Florida natural views and fresh water fishing; bream, large mouth bass, crappie, shellcracker and catfish.

We're a park and go and offer all the basic necessities in a very quiet forest location, but we're still just north of all of the popular beaches. It's run by me, my wife, my son, and our new little puppy Ollie (he's the most important.)
There's a grocery store nearby, and all RV types up to 45ft are welcome here, with 20, 30, and 50 amp hookups available. Water, sewer, trash, electric, and wifi are all included at no additional charge. Doordash is available, and Hungry Howies Pizza also delivers to us if you're not feeling like cooking. Every site has a picnic table and fire pit, and Firewood, Propane, and Laundry facilities are also available on-site for you to purchase or pay for as well.
We do NOT have public restrooms. Primitive camping and popups with no restrooms are currently not allowed.

Wonderful site! We even played pickleball a little bit! I love that a water hose is provided. I went with a friend that booked a couple earlier nights and also was here in January as well. I met a wonderful neighbor down the street who gave us fresh grapefruit and eggs, such a wonderful surprise and very kind! Felt safe. Would be cool if there was stairs down the cliff but totally understand that would not be safe! The owner Glenn keeps it immaculate and in 100% working order. Recommended!

Second time here this year Love the place of course! Had a friend meet us us. She loved the place as well. She even was able to fish some. Plenty of sitting space and tables and an outdoor grill area too. Highly recommend! Definitely will be back for our third trip hopefully before summer comes! If you want more water view where you park and by the fire then the 3rd site probably has the most water viewing area. Definitely watch your pet near the cliffs!

It is a beautiful location! Plenty of room between sites...there was only 1 other site used while we were there. Very private...the only noise you will hear is the cow mooing "good night" from down the lane. The night sky is very impressive and you must sit by the fire pit and enjoy it. All the services are new and you have no problem hooking up. This would be a great place for a family vacation..especially if you could reserve all 3 spots. Will be on my list to come back to visit again.

Maggie and Mike are spectacular hosts going to extra mile when you stay. They are musicians so I was fortunate enough to turn up when they had a concert on in their yard. The provided food and refreshments.
Very helpful and thoughtful people. We had great conversations about food and swapped a curry I made for some fresh honey from their hives.
Leto could go off leash and the site is easy to enter and exit. Would recommend staying here to anyone in the area.

This is our second year camping at sweet Tupelo, the camp ground is well kept and maintained. It is exactly what our family looks for. Time away from everything with beautiful scenery. We will be returning again. Thank you sweet Tupelo for another wonderful experience.

Camp site was level and perfect for our 30’ class A with a toad. The river front is gorgeous. Power, water and dump is set up nicely. We were there the first week of February for 2 nights as a layover between stops. The caverns are a must see and only 15 minutes away. Neighborhood felt safe and our only visitor was “Hillie” (neighbors golden retriever) who spent a few hours with us. Would absolutely recommend the spot. Jay was super friendly and easy to communicate with!

Maggie’s Place was perfect. I met Maggie personally and she was so warm and inviting. I loved my stay and would definitely stay again. The bathrooms were wonderfully clean, and the little kitchen area was a great bonus for tent camping. If you’re looking for a neat, unique place to stay, this is it!

This was an amazing private getaway!! The site was clean and easily accessible with the ability to pull in and out. No backing necessary. This was just the quiet new years getaway we were hoping for. We will definitely be back to paddle board the beautiful chipola river when it warms up!

What a beautiful and serene spot to spend outdoors! We tent camped and the space had everything we needed. The other two spots were far enough away that we didn’t feel cramped. There were two RVs with families in those spots. They were extremely respectful. We had plenty of room. We loved all of the furniture, the fire pit, and the grill set up. We used extra long (2-100 ft) power cords to get electricity to our tent so we could heat up our electric mattress pad. The fog on the river in the mornings was magical. The only thing I would pass on is to bring earplugs for those who are tent camping and are light sleepers. As another commenter mentioned, there are dogs in the neighborhood that tend to howl and bark a lot at night. I don’t think it would bother anyone in RVs, but it is something to think about if you are tent camping. That said, it would not stop me from coming back!! This was an amazing space and I hope to bring my kids back with me next time! I highly recommend driving an hour to Merritt Mills lake which is in Marianna. It is a springfed lake with gorgeous Cypress trees and clear water. We took our kayaks and thought it was one of our best kayaking outings. We also drove an hour south to Saint George’s Island. This camping spot is prime location for exploring.

I really enjoyed my stay, Jay also left me a bottle of honey, which I really appreciated. The facility is especially recommended if you are with a group of friends, because the space is a lot and it already has a firepit (no grill) with armchairs disposed all around it. The place in itself is really peaceful and a great way to escape the everyday life. I personally went there to visit the caverns in Marianna and to go kayaking along the Chipola River. 10/10

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Having full hookups and a nice fire pit by the river made it very comfortable. We also appreciated its location and were able to visit the Caverns St Park and Hinson Conservation area for some nice hikes. We launched our kayaks from the steep stairway, with caution - but no issues. Good location for dark sky watching too.
