It came to be known as Yellow River Marsh State Buffer Preserve on June 12, 2000, when it was purchased by the state of Florida to protect rare and environmentally sensitive lands, plants and animals. We have a nice little RV pad on the back of our coastal home. Situated on a little bayou that opens out into Choctawhatchee Bay. Crab Island is only a 10 minute boat ride away. You would have access to our small dock and there is a neighborhood boat ramp less than one hundred feet away. This is a great place for kayaks, wave runners, and small boats. If you don't have a boat, we can set up any kind of trip you want. We are all licensed captains and own multiple Crab Island businesses. So we can set up charters for you on the following boats: Sailing trip on a restored 1963 Pearson Ensign. Can accommodate up to 6 people. This is a classic sailboat that is easy to sail and easy to learn to sail. A restored 1966 Boston Whaler that is perfect for couples looking for a sunset cruise, etc. Can accommodate up to 6 people but it perfect for 2 -4. We can go to Crab Island, look for dolphins or find our own private island beach. Waverunner tours. We can take you on a guided wave runner tour looking for dolphins and private beaches. You will drive one wave runner while our licensed captain guided you on another one. Insurance does not allow us to rent these out solo but there are many good vendors in the area to do that. Inshore flats skiff targeting redfish and trout on light spinning gear and fly rods. This boat is best fished with no more than 3 people. Rates: $150 per hour for less than 3 hours $500 for half day (4 hours) $600 for 6 hours The neighborhood is one of the oldest neighborhoods in Fort Walton with large oaks and magnolias providing plenty of shade for bike riding and walking. 3 nights at Glamping In Paradise

This was the best campsite that I've ever been to. The campground is beautiful and secluded. The interior of the tent is super cozy, I slept better there than in my own bed at home! The owners put so much thought and consideration into amenities that make the stay so much nicer. The kitchenette is a super nice addition, with multiple cooking utensils for use with the charcoal grill. Not to mention the owners themselves were super kind and accommodating. I can't wait until I book another trip here in the future!

Weekend Trip to Gateway Trails

We got to our campsite pretty late and after dark and it was very easy to find ! The welcome packet they provided was soo extremely helpful and we added on firewood to our booking and that made getting set up super easy. Having electric and water was also great ! The washhouse was incredibly clean and well stocked and I had a great shower with hot water. Would recommend to anyone who needs a safe, clean place to camp. There are donkeys and other wild life as well as fellow campers dogs that made sleeping a little tricky as it was a bit loud so i would recommend packing ear plugs if u are a restless sleeper.

We love coming to The Wandering Path! It is always so relaxing! We have always stayed in the Primitive sites and we usually get #5, but it was booked so we booked #8 which we also really enjoyed. It was a great weekend!

Weekend Trip to The Wandering Path

Site was exactly as described. Host was great! Briefly met me after I arrived to make sure everything was ok. This was the exact kind of place I was looking for. Something near the water with a site that was private enough to not feel like anyone was near by, but one that had quick access to a warm shower if desired. Bath house was clean and well taken care by the host and my neighboring campers. Made you want to take the extra 30 seconds to wipe things down before walking back to your site. I will definitely be returning.

Weekend Trip to Glamping In Paradise

Absolutely fantastic experience! It had everything you could possibly need (sink, hammock, campfire, s'mores stick, picnic table, portapotties, fridge, AC, blankets, coffee maker, and even a nice little bowl of candy!) As an added bonus, it rained throughout the night and we stayed completely dry in the tent. We will 100% be back! Thank you, Ron!

Tent camp site was level and free of debris. The picnic table, fire pit, and Adirondack chairs were nice. This site is close to the laundry and bathhouse - which was super clean. Complimentary alarm clock: Awoke every morning to roosters crowing. Would recommend.

1 night at Gateway Trails

Return visit to this amazing HipCamp space. Beyond the hosts being super amazing communicators, the bathroom is spotless…. And I loved being able to take a nice hot shower, in a super clean shower stall. On this trip, while driving over, some deer crossed my path about a mile out (3 babies with mom)… so be careful…. Deer in the area! I will absolutely be coming back, and I hope to stay a few days next time. Thank you Jay and Suzette!

As described a nice mix of technology and nature. The space is secure, simple and comfortable. The is plenty of running water. Property keepers are on site and friendly. They look out for your comfort and will turn on the AC, or locate other items for you as needed.

I loved tent camping at Amanda's beautiful land AKA The Wandering Path. Not only was it beautiful, but the bath house was very clean and worked wonderfully. The sites were clean and Amanda herself was so so nice and responded quickly to messages. The entire trip was fantastic!

4 nights at Quiet bay access camping

Very nice site! Covered is a nice plus in the Florida heat/sun! Full hook up including sewer! Wayne is a great host and answers any questions very quickly. Site is quiet, and convenient to our activities across the bay (we went into Miramar Beach/Destin). We plan to stay here again! Highly recommend this site!

Great place to stay! It was quiet, clean, the tent smelled great which I don’t expect camping. It was just what I look for. Secluded enough to not be shoulder to shoulder but it had all the convenient amenities. We will be back!

This is my second time back and I had an even better experience the second time around! The beach was beautiful and a great spot to camp 🫶🏽🫶🏽 The instructions sent before my arrival were very thorough and helpful. The site is also very conveniently located to Navarre beach! Definitley coming back! 🤙🏽

What a wonderful place tucked away next to the bay. Our host was very helpful and nice. 2 Adults and 3 kids stayed in both of the glamping tents. The camping experience by far was even more pleasant than we had imagined. Navarre beach and a several night at here will be something we do again. Bring your kayaks and explore the East Bay river. What a treasure!

7 nights at Navarre Beach Camping Resort

Everything was super clean, the laundry room was perfect. Staff was friendly and helpful. We loved the activities they planned daily. We really enjoyed the outdoor movie night looking out over the water. The highlight of the trip was putting our kayaks in the water right from the campground and watching the sunset out on the water. The camp store was stocked with anything we might need and the beach was only a short drive. We will definitely return.

Weekend Trip to Larry & Sheila's Blackwater Getaway

Great tent spots right on the river, nearby patio area has all the needed amenities to make any length of stay comfortable. Host is very friendly and hospitable. Fun spot for kids to explore riverbank or do some fishing, we caught and released several over a short period. Highly recommend this spot if want to throw up a tent or park an RV.

Exactly as advertised and I would go back to primitive camp again. Would possibly even do a yurt if it's in my camping budget for the time. Great for budget camper last minute camper looking for a quick imo, especially if a bigger spot is unavailable.
