The farm you’re camping on is one of the last family farms remaining in Columbia County and is named Glenn Farm after DV Glenn who married Hettie Lou Niblack in the 1930’s. Over the last 150 years it has been farmed by some of the county’s oldest families such as the Niblack and Ellis families. When DV Glenn came to Florida from his farm in Cairo, GA he took over the portion of the Niblack farm that was inherited by his wife Hettie Lou. At that time he was running native Florida cattle on over 6000 acres. Unfortunately, In 1951 he was killed in a hunting accident leaving his wife with the farm and 4 children (ages 4-11). In order to survive, Hettie Lou Niblack Glenn was forced to sell 5000 acres at $25 an acre. Holding a bachelors degree from Florida State College for Women, she was able to secure a job at the University of Florida as a secretary and with the money from the land sale she was able to raise her four children. Of the original farm, 600 acres remain intact and the Glenn family is trying to keep the farm as an agricultural operation. Your campsite is 1 of 4 spots (Arrowhead Sink, Dunagan’s Meadow, North Hall Pasture or Magnolia Sink). We also have a 1 bedroom Tiny home that used to be the farm office. Dunagan’s meadow is a pasture behind the old farmhouse (built in 1824), Magnolia sink and The North Hall Pasture are also on the main farm while Arrowhead Sink is on the edge of a hayfield about a mile down a dirt road. Glenn Farm is a place to come relax and experience a world that is rapidly disappearing. It is not a commercial campground.

Frank Page purchased the Suwannee River Rendezvous Resort & Campground in 2008 which included the original seven acres of the lower portion of the Rendezvous. At that time there were only a few buildings and the primitive campground area. Frank started cleaning the area and stabilizing all the buildings. In 2009 another 20 acres was purchased, which is now considered the upper area of the Rendezvous. In 2010, another seven acres were added to the property. Frank planned and constructed the Upper Rendezvous area which was completed in 2012 and added 136 RV sites as well as the dog park, barn and pigeon coop. The dog park has five sections, for both small and large dogs, with ample room to run. Suwannee River Rendezvous Resort & Campground Pool Frank began raising pigeons in 2012. The first pigeons purchased were homing pigeons, which started the Pigeon Races that are still a fun, family favorite event on Saturday afternoons. Frank also bought and started raising other pigeons, the Birmingham Roller. Birmingham Rollers are a very popular breed of domesticated pigeons that originated in Birmingham, England, where they were developed via selective breeding for their ability to do rapid backward somersaults while flying. Although we're a little ways from the beach we do have beach chairs and umbrella for your use. Cedar key is about 45 minutes and St Augustine or Crescent Beach is about 1.5 hours. You can feed them and say hi from outside of their enclosures and pastures, but do not go in with them unless we are with you. We just spent a few nights at Dunigan’s Meadow, hosted by Judy and her son, Tom — two of the kindest, most genuine people you’ll meet. Their hospitality made us feel like family from the moment we arrived. The property is absolutely beautiful — rolling pastureland with cows, sheep, and three adorable donkeys roaming freely. We loved that they welcomed all three of our dogs with open arms. Judy even let us drive into the pasture so the dogs could chase racquetballs while the cows watched. The cottage itself is small and simple, not luxury by any means — but it’s clean, cozy, and has so much heart. The bed is incredibly comfortable, and the little touches — like the vase of fresh sunflowers from Judy’s garden — really made it feel special. This isn’t a polished, modern stay; it’s a real cottage on a working farm, and that’s exactly what we loved about it. We didn’t have to tiptoe around fancy furniture or worry about the dogs. Every morning we stepped outside into misty fields and watched the fog roll over the pasture. There’s even a natural sinkhole filled with water that adds to the peaceful scenery. Dunagun’s Meadow is one of those rare places that resets your spirit — simple, authentic, and deeply grounding. If you love nature, animals, and genuine people, this place will feed your soul.

Weekend Trip to Big Oak Farm Dog And Horse Camping

I highly recommend Big Oak Farm Dog and Horse Camping! It’s an idyllic little spot to stay with the family, with pets or solo. It’s easy to locate and very accessible near a state road. I booked last minute, (I’m talking about an hour beforehand). The host responded quickly and was very welcoming. Every time I reached out through the app, during my stay, the response was quick. The hosts were attentive, but definitely gave you your privacy. Although, their very clear directions and instructions were posted on the site, they took the time to greet me personally and helped me get set up with water and electricity, using their own hose and extension cord to save me the trouble of dragging out my own. There is a large fenced in area for the dogs to run around safely. My 3 had a great time and were fascinated by the pig and the emu in the adjoining field. It’s a beautiful sight to see horses in the field while having your morning coffee! I decided to book a second night after seeing the stars the first night. There is no noticeable light pollution and little to no traffic at night. I would recommend bringing a telescope, you won’t be disappointed. I would definitely stay again!

Great camping spot! If you follow The Crossroads on Facebook you can see what events are happening. There is plenty of space across the property. Rv spots are large and a few with full hookups. Several with just water and power and plenty for tent camping. The whole property is impressive with tons to do. Frank and everyone else out there are super welcoming. We will be back for sure. Thanks Frank for a great weekend.

Personal entrance, and plenty of animals (even an emu!) to greet in a separate fenced off area, There's a hammock, Frisbee golf, and plenty of room to walk around. This is a great place to stay especially for families. Tip: For the best setup, be sure to bring an extension cable and long water hose.

We had a fantastic stay at this campsite! The lack of an on-site bathroom was no problem—nearby facilities were easy to access, and the spacious, shady sites were perfect for unwinding. The hosts were super accommodating, checking in periodically to ensure everything was all good, which made us feel so welcome. With plenty of shade and open space, this campsite is a true gem for a relaxing getaway. Highly recommend!

Jessica is extremely nice and goes above and beyond to make sure that you’re happy and doing well! They do their thing around their place but never intrude unless asked a question. It is obviously a working farm so don’t take offense to them doing things fairly close to you. Overall easy access, strong power supply and water with sewer as well which was nice if needed. We are fully self contained and didn’t need. Highly recommend!

We stayed here over the 4th of July weekend and had a wonderful time getting lost in nature! The winding driveway to the property made it feel like we were escaping into a fairytale forest — so private and peaceful. We loved that our dogs could run around freely next to our camp, and the setup was perfect for our group: my partner and I stayed in a tent while our guests enjoyed the comfort of the RV. The accommodations were great — the RV was especially comfortable during the hot afternoons, and I actually really enjoyed the cold outdoor shower! We spent our time cooking delicious food together, relaxing, and enjoying the beautiful forest surroundings. Just a heads up: I recommend bringing tick spray, as we did get some bites, but that’s to be expected when you’re this close to nature. The hostess was so kind and helpful — overall, it was a stay full of fun, family, and forest. Highly recommend!
