You're also welcome eat anything that is ripe on the fruit trees or that is ready in the garden. You'll also have access to our gym and sauna which are shared. It's about a 10 minute walk away up towards the main house. There you'll find a Peloton bike, peloton treadmill, peloton rower, yoga mats, TRX straps, a few free weights, AND Finnish sauna! It's a sanctuary for humans too :) Please note there is no restroom or RV hookup for waste. Vegan Stuff! Because we rescue farm animals we ask that no animals products be brought in, cooked or consumed on property out of respect for them. Please keep it 100% vegan. If this is new for you, as it was for us at first, don't worry, it's way easier than you think. Oatmeal, avocado toast, black bean tacos, etc. Whatever you already love, just veganise it. And the nearby Publix, or pretty much any grocery store, will have vegan pizza, burgers, and nearly anything you'd crave. We know this lifestyle might be new to you but it's the best thing we've ever done. Your stay could double as a cleanse from the standard American diet. Again, the sanctuary lives up to it's name and is an incredibly special and peaceful place. Run down the tree covered road, do yoga under an oak tree, enjoy the sauna, take a Peloton class, read to the chickens (they love a good story), meditate with the pigs, and so much more. Peacefield is a retreat and a tranquil escape for animals and humans:) We are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit and the this space directly supports the animals and our mission. These funds will be used for food, medicine, rescue operations, the emergency vet fund, and so much more! Location One of the coolest things about this place is that it feels so private and secluded yet less than 2 miles to Publix. Approximately 10 miles to downtown Gainesville, The Swamp (UF Stadium), The University of Florida, Whole Foods, and more! This is also a perfect launching pad to explore all the amazing natural springs in north central Florida. It was so nice to wake up to views of donkeys and horses! Great hosts that got me to the perfect spot, under the large oak trees. . I felt very safe behind a large gate not too far from the owners’ and farm interns’ homes, and except for a seldom vehicle, it was very quiet, in spite of being relatively close to the road. No potties, but, even without them, it definitely has the kind of vibe that made you want to stay longer!

We camped at Big Oak Farm in our camper van. We stayed 3 nights. It was lovely. Hosts are super nice, the property is beautiful, and we loved watching their pigs, horses, emus, goats, and working farm dogs do their thing. They made sure we had everything we needed but also gave us plenty of privacy. This spot is a gem. This will be our go-to spot for this area.

We didn’t know what to think before we arrived as we were just looking for a place to test out the new RV and Crossroads was very biker friendly. Turns out it was a perfect weekend. There just happened to be jack Russel Terrier races going on so there were dogs everywhere but the wife and I love dogs so it just added to the adventure. The campground was perfectly fine. Everything worked great. The only downside was we wanted full hookups and to get sewer we had to take a location close to annuals, but nobody messed with us or was loud. We walked the grounds and it was beautiful land. The waterfalls were all working and flowing as they should. We don’t drink much but the bar looked excellent. We did have a cheesecake on a stick and it was amazing. All in all it was excellent for the price. The owner was fantastic and very helpful even offering to let us use things if we forgot something.

Our stay at Oak Hayvin Retreat was truly magical. The property is incredibly quiet and secluded, making it easy to feel completely immersed in nature. Vince and Haylie were so welcoming, and accommodating!. The retreat is tucked away in a beautifully remote location, and we were fortunate to see deer, wild turkeys, and countless birds right on the property. The walking trails were peaceful and well maintained, and the thoughtfully built tree stand was such a special touch. Sitting among the trees, listening to the birds and watching wildlife pass by, was an unforgettable experience. This trip meant so much to us and is one we will always cherish. Thank you, Vince and Haylie, for sharing your beautiful property. I would highly recommend Oak Hayvin Retreat to anyone looking to escape the city and enjoy some truly serene, peaceful time away.

This is a really cool place to stay! Spacious sites with power, water & septic. The hosts are friendly and accommodating with a comfortable vibe. We got a tour of the place and met and got to feed the horses! There are also donkeys, a goat and emu and beautiful Great Pyrenees dogs that guard the homestead…all contained in secure fencing. We wish these guys well in their further homestead plans!!

A few miles north of High Springs, O’Leno State Park offers excellent fishing along the Santa Fe River, challenging anglers to reel in large-mouth bass and sunfish. The park’s 11 miles of hiking and biking trails connect with the River Rise Preserve State Park trail system, providing chances to spot wildlife like deer, turkey, and wild rabbits. The park has both primitive and well-appointed RV campsites with electrical hookups in a pet-friendly setting. It also hosts festivals year-round with live music, food vendors, and activities for the whole family.

Ichetucknee Springs State Park

Enjoy tubing down the Ichetucknee River year-round at Ichetucknee Springs State Park. Tubers can bring their own inflatables or rent them within the park. Float from Midpoint Launch to Dampier’s Landing, then use the concession tram service or hiking trail to return to the parking lot. Or, paddle down the river in canoes and kayaks, spotting wading birds, river otters, and manatees in their natural wetland habitat. Paynes Prairie Preserve State Park

With diverse wildlife and scenic landscapes, Paynes Prairie Preserve State Park offers terrific opportunities to reconnect with nature. Wild horses and bison freely roam expansive prairies, while hundreds of bird species fill the trees and skies. Follow the LaChua Trail to the 50-foot observation tower for panoramic views of wet prairie and marsh habitats. Then set up at one of the park’s back-in RV sites with 30-amp electric hookups.
