Our RV and Tent Campsites are located in a grassy field next to dense woods. Electric and water hookups are included in the RV/Camper sites, but not the Tent Site. All sites have a picnic table and fire ring. Our newly renovated restrooms on the property have toilets and one shower. A boardwalk takes you along the Cotee River to our two open air pavilions with several places to sit and enjoy nature. Cell phone service is not a problem, as we are not remote (although it sort of feels like we are when you are here) - we are 5 min from downtown New Port Richey, 2 minutes from groceries, gas, restaurants. This beautiful slice of Old Florida is named for the Pithlachascotee River that bends along the back side of the property. Pithlo is the Creek word meaning canoe, and chaskita means to dig or chop out, together signifying "place where canoes are chopped or dug out". Seminoles of this area used canoes dug out from the great cypress trees found along Florida rivers. From the 1980s until 2014, this property was owned by the Cotee River Lions Club. They held a popular monthly pancake breakfast fundraiser in the large pavilion along the river. We purchased this 4.9 acres of land in late 2019. It is now where we live and have a woodworking shop. It has been a magical place for us, with no shortage of wildlife, rich jungle forest, a winding narrow river, and even the occasion river otter sighting. We are grateful to all the humans who have occupied this place over the centuries before us for keeping it as nature intended it. It is our intention to do our part to conserve and protect its natural beauty as long as possible. We hope you find it to be as restful and rejuvenating as we do.

We opened to the public on Labor Day 2014. Most people come to stay either in our rental cottage or in their horse trailers/RVs with their horses to ride the awesome trails in the 20,000+ acre adjacent Croom Forest. However, because our ranch is so peaceful, many stay here without horses just to enjoy the peace and quiet. There are many opportunities to recreate in the area, including outstanding mountain and road biking, OHVing, hiking, golfing, and canoeing/kayaking. Many full-time and working RVers stay for extended periods. Note that our camping area is small and intimate, so you will be close to other campers. We have 5 30-amp hookups, and 2 50-amp hookups; if you need 50-amp service, please request it. Note that a minimum of a 2-night stay will typically be required on weekends, especially during our busy season. WiFi is available, but we call it "Country WiFi" since it sometimes can be slow and may or may not be accessible from where you are parked; also, Verizon cell service in our area is terrible. If internet access is important to you, we suggest having your own hotspot or internet service (many working RVers have Starlink). 2 nights at Honey Bee Ranch

Honeybee ranch is such a special place! We didn’t expect to have this type of experience. It’s so peaceful and scenery is stunning. Carolina was very accommodating when we had a special arrival request, and Cindy the host on site, was really sweet. She greeted us upon arrival helped us back into the site and then In introduced us to the Cows.. later that evening we walked the entire property at sunset, admiring the oak trees, and watching ibis fly north for the evening. The ranch has a very special feeling to it. As for the campsites, we had everything we needed water power sewer. There’s no fire rings at the site so we made a fire at the community pit, which is a really cozy spot to hang out all night. Totally recommend the spot and btw, super close to Danes Cave and Croom Rec for hiking and ATVs

Tent camping in Gypsy’s designated camping area was a peaceful, quiet retreat tucked into a truly remote and charming landscape. The land feels cared for with intention and love, and the family who owns and maintains the property are genuinely wonderful, warm, and attentive. This is my first time on Hipcamp so I'm not really sure what I'm comparing to. I arrived earlier than expected, and the caretakers were very gracious directing me to my campsite without batting an eye. I was able to connect my trailer to water, sewer and electric immediately and walk around the big property to see some of its features. In addition to the 5 or 6 RV sites here, there is a residence called the Barn, which was not occupied when I visited here. Peaceful is the main word that comes to mind- it's quiet at night, which is good because I had to get up early. I enjoy visiting the cows when I got back from my tournament rounds early in the afternoon. I'm the only one staying here now so I didn't take advantage of the community fire pit, but it's a great idea and there was firewood available to me.Still hoping to get a close-up look at tha fox squirrel., who has so far kept his distance as far as I can tell. The name of this ranch drew me here, and it was a little bit sad that I couldn't get any of this season's honey because it's not ready yet.

The driveway is very rough on the way in. A beautiful spot once you got back in where the sites were. We use a 38' travel trailer and was able to get in and out. The electric service on our site was weak but we managed. Overall a good experience.

Gave us a place when nowhere else in the area was available. The minor electrical issues we had (not really the fault of the owner) were quickly resolved. Great atmosphere. The owner was communicative, and always made sure someone was on hand.

I loved tent camping at RV3 The first night I was just the only one and it was so peaceful, loads of room at each site! The second night someone else was there but you couldn’t even tell because of the spacing of the sites! We rented RV site 2 for tent camping and it was amazing! The site was spacious and spread apart from the other guests. The owner stopped by and was gracious enough to loan us an electrical adapter so we could get power and stopped by everyday for general maintenance and to check on our stay! It was an amazing holiday weekend and hated to see it end! There is toilet and shower (outdoor) and it was much appreciated even if a little rustic!! Thank you for a wonderful stay!

We had such a wonderful stay at this campground! The grounds are absolutely beautiful and incredibly peaceful — the perfect place to unwind. The amenities were excellent and made everything so convenient and comfortable. Our dog loved it just as much as we did, which is always a huge plus! We will definitely be back. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a relaxing and enjoyable getaway.
