Apalachicola is a golf cart friendly town. We have a Yamaha gas powered golf cart for rent at $65 daily if you would like to enjoy a close up of the town. There are many things to do in Apalachicola such as spending the day on the beautiful white sandy beaches of St. George Island. Our three "SWEET TUPELO" R.V. campsites are located on 12 riverfront acres in the northern Panhandle of Florida on the historic Apalachicola River. The name “Sweet Tupelo” is taken from the Tupelo tree that grows exclusively in the floodplains and sloughs along the Apalachicola River. Local bees make their honey with the pollen of these trees creating many unique health and taste benefits found only in this part of the world. When you venture back into civilization, make sure you pick up a jar of Tupelo honey. You won’t be disappointed!

We loved this site so much we booked a second night. The campsite is so peaceful and has been the best stay of our trip so far. The amenities are first class! Each site is pristine and comes with a variety of picnic tables and high top tables. The dump station was easy to access and was definitely a perk of this site. We will definitely return here next time we are in the area.

We stayed at site one and it was a great View. Also cook Grill and nice fire pit plenty of space and picnic tables. Just a short walk to the boat ramp if you want to use the restroom there. As others have said there are dogs in the neighborhood that howl at night and there was also a cow mooing but overall it's a good spot.

We loved the beautiful property and river. If you want peace and quiet, this is the place for you. I think we saw every star in the galaxy! We had an eagle stop by and hang out in the tree in front of our window.
Overall we would definitely recommend Glen’s land and will be back again.

What a lovely location! Robert was helpful and responded quickly. The site is beautiful with many thoughtful additions to make it homey and enjoyable. As others have mentioned, there is road noise but you get used to it and it’s such a nice location that it’s worth it.

Love this spot! My dog and I stayed here while passing through the area, and it didn’t disappoint. Great location right on the water with stunning sunsets. I was initially worried about traffic noise but it wasn’t a problem overnight. Loved all the space and listening to the waves all night. Such a beautiful area and I would definitely book again.

Perfect little spot to pull through and camp for the night. The dock area was a treat at sunset/sunrise — peaceful and private. I’d imagine a great location for avid fishermen too. Wonderful site! We even played pickleball a little bit! I love that a water hose is provided. I went with a friend that booked a couple earlier nights and also was here in January as well. I met a wonderful neighbor down the street who gave us fresh grapefruit and eggs, such a wonderful surprise and very kind! Felt safe. Would be cool if there was stairs down the cliff but totally understand that would not be safe! The owner Glenn keeps it immaculate and in 100% working order. Recommended!

Second time here this year Love the place of course! Had a friend meet us us. She loved the place as well. She even was able to fish some. Plenty of sitting space and tables and an outdoor grill area too. Highly recommend! Definitely will be back for our third trip hopefully before summer comes! If you want more water view where you park and by the fire then the 3rd site probably has the most water viewing area. Definitely watch your pet near the cliffs!

It is a beautiful location! Plenty of room between sites...there was only 1 other site used while we were there. Very private...the only noise you will hear is the cow mooing "good night" from down the lane. The night sky is very impressive and you must sit by the fire pit and enjoy it. All the services are new and you have no problem hooking up. This would be a great place for a family vacation..especially if you could reserve all 3 spots. Will be on my list to come back to visit again.

The site has been put together with care and everything you need. Firepit with wood, Table, Chairs and a beautiful view of the bay right in front of you. Level with crushed stone for RV and a site on grass for tents. A little road noise but the view is worth it. I would recommend the site for sure.

Where to go
Tate's Hell State Forest
A short jaunt from the center of Carrabelle, Tate's Hell State Forest protects all sorts of wildlife, from gopher tortoises and Florida black bears to gopher tortoises and red-cockaded woodpecker. The forest also has around 35 miles of waterways for boating and fishing and a smattering of primitive campsites, most of which have direct river access.
Dr. Julian G. Bruce St. George Island State Park
On the eastern end of St. George Island, a barrier island that's sandwiched between Apalachicola Bay and the Gulf of Mexico, Dr. Julian G. Bruce St. George Island State Park is a great place for swimming, sunbathing, and stargazing. If you're lucky, you might even spot a pod of dolphins. The park also has a couple of primitive sites and a developed campground complete with full hookups and a dump station.
Apalachicola National Forest
Spread out over more than half a million acres, Apalachicola National Forest is the largest national forest in the state. Here you'll find hundreds of miles of trails, over 700 bodies of water, and a wide range of flora and fauna. The forest offers a mix of developed campgrounds, some of which are RV-friendly, and primitive dispersed camping, though some campgrounds are only open seasonally.
When to go
You'll get the best weather in Carrabelle if you visit between October and May, when temperatures tend to be a bit cooler and the weather's usually a bit drier than during the summer months. The risk of hurricanes is also lower during this time. Late April is a particularly great time to visit, as this is when the annual Carrabelle Riverfront Festival—which features craft and food vendors and live entertainment—takes place.
