Come experience 152 acres of preserved forest in the beautiful Highlands Region of northern New Jersey. Our nonprofit nature center has a rich history and offers events rooted in arts, education, and recreation.
We have four rustic cabins with electricity available for overnight stays of 1–7 nights. A mountain stream runs through the property, and there are plenty of casual outdoor seating areas to relax in. There is also a large recreation field and private trails to explore during your stay with us.
Our property borders Norvin Green State Forest, which offers miles of hiking trails, including 360-degree views from Wyanokie High Point. The Highlands Natural Pool is also adjacent to our property, featuring a spring-fed, Olympic-sized swimming pool open from Memorial Day through the end of September.

When it’s mid-July and Connecticut is threatening to burst into flames, Kettletown State Park is where people go to cool off.The refreshing waters of the Housatonic River and Lake Zoar are guaranteed to lower your body temperature and restore your energy levels. The rest of the park that isn’t water is heavily wooded, providing lots of welcome shade. Shoot, you could even go for a hike and not worry about overheating. Being caught without a camera here is like showing up to potluck without a dish. You just don’t do it.When the fall foliage starts to peak, whoa. The sight of the vivid colors reflected in the unrippled lake surface is more beautiful than anything you’ve ever seen. Don’t let your significant other hear you say that, though. Had a wonderful stay here! Very peaceful place to stay and saw some wildlife. Very clear instructions and easy to understand rules. Cabins are not far from parking and I was able to load and unload right at the cabin before parking.

Weekend Trip to The New Weis Center
The staff (especially Jon!) was so helpful and accommodating. They offered heaters and let us pick a different cabin to have more spaceto ourselves. I got to relive my boyscout days. Lovely stay in a lovely area.
