Little Scraggy Camp is located on 95 acres of an historic 160-acre ranch that was homesteaded by our family in the 1890’s, and is on the National Register of Historic Places. This totally off-grid ranch is surrounded by Pike National Forest, yet has easy access from a paved road. We offer several accommodations and glamping sites, as well as sites for moderate sized RVs, travel trailers, truck campers, vans, tents, and hammocks. Additionally, we have sites for small groups (up to 16 people) and large groups (35-200 people). Staff was friendly and helpful, cabin was basic and comfortable. Good value for the money. The bathrooms were.. fine. Kids loved the pool which was an unexpected amenity. The arcade was filled with of classic arcade games but unfortunately many were out of service because, well, they were 30-40 years old. Lone Duck was comfortable, people were quiet and respectful, and overall completely adequate.

This was a good location for our purposes. The access was easy and even though there was lots of rain, and a little roadway washout in the morning, it was easily passable and not a worry for us. The tiny accommodations are appropriately appointed and accurately advertised.

I absolutely loved Marion's fishing hut. It was perfect and I loved all the touches. The TV, the small refrigerator and microwave, little coffee maker, and all the utensils, plates, cups and portable electric hot plates to cook. There is a wash basin to wash and to wash dishes. Water was provided, which was awesome. They also provided movies to watch on the TV and the the trundle bed was perfect and comfortable, as well as, the pillow, and the blanket was so warm. It looked like a little cottage with the framed windows, which opened from the inside with little blinds, and when you would open the little windows, there was a nice breeze. I didn't mind the roosters across the way they were funny, and I took pictures of the beautiful horses also across the way. It was quiet. The little fishing hut is surrounded by pine trees and Aspen trees. The little outhouse was so cute and clean, also with nice touches. And the lid to the toilet was painted with Aspen trees!! Whoever painted it is a great artist. I highly recommend this little hut for me and my 2 dogs, it was perfect. There's also a picnic table and chairs outside and a water spigot. I will definitely be back to this little piece of mountain paradise. 👏🏞⛰️

Definitely a nice place to stay at. Clean and simple. Has a TV, DVD player with a good selection of movies, mini fridge, microwave, as well as a mini heater. Has a lot of areas within a short drive to see beautiful sunsets. Has very spotty signal, but thats what makes places like these nice, you have to disconnect and enjoy nature. Definitely recommend staying here. Do note, it does get cold during the nights so prepare accordingly, the blanket and heater was good enough for me.

Weekend Trip to Little Scraggy Camp

Such a beautiful property, sites are spread out plenty of walking trails and hiking in the area, including on the grounds. The cabin was well appointed with all the necessities. I suggest making sure you bring a garbage bag and any other things that you typically like to have at home to the cabin. Plenty of utensils, plates, bowls, spices, and other handy items. The half barrel fire pit was perfect for the evening campfires with s’mores there is also a corner store 6 miles away in Decker’s in case you forget anything. Everyone was friendly. We were able to play frisbee on the road in front of our campsite, which was a lot of fun. Very peaceful in the evenings starting around nine or 10 o’clock until morning time beautiful view of the sky. I recommend if you’re interested in a great camping spot with beautiful surroundings and scenery. Terri is a great host who is very informative with directions and accommodating. We’ll be back again!

We had an amazing weekend get away at this property. We even saw a momma and baby moose right outside the side deck near the hot tub! We were very comfortable and enjoyed our time here. Melinda was a great host and checked in with us to see if there was anything we needed. My husband commented on how comfortable the master bed was. I was worried that going to Black Hawk with kids may not be enjoyable. But there happened to be the county fair the weekend we went. We also took the kids to the Hidee Mine tour.

Great little spot! The neighbors were super friendly, with horses and chickens across the road. The cabin is a small hut, perfect for a couple and two dogs to sleep comfortably. The space is quiet (minus the roosters on the property across the street but not at all bothersome!) and well kept. They are in the process of upgrading the cabin and adding some nice touches. Even the outhouse is done really well! There is walkable access to the national forest right around the corner. There is a grill, mini fridge, microwave and dishware. Plenty of potable water accessible. The hosts are wonderful. We will definitely return.

I love this place! Absolutely peaceful and all to yourself. The place is spacious and has comfy bed. Although I hit my head 😆. My favorite spot was the secluded swing, drinking morning tea and basking in the sun and stars was highlights of my trip. The place has little needed essentials such as gas grill with propane, paper towels and cleaning supplies. Although place doesn’t have water, we bought our portable sink. The portable toilet on site was clean. Oh yea, the place has these big windows right in the front with another beautiful view. The kitchen set for 2 sits right in front of window. Although not best weather we still hiked the trail right behind the house. I can say more but Anyone should not second guess on this place. We definitely coming back!

The campground was very clean and the employees super friendly! The only thing people should be aware of is the short distance to a busy street, which you will hear. Overall a great place to stay for a few nights!
