If you have questions or need help, call us from the yurt landline. Winter camping experience/equipment and a high-clearance 4x4 vehicle with severe snow-rated tires and chains may be required to access the yurt Oct-April. The only and closest Hipcamp under the steady majesty of Needlerock! You need to arrive in daylight! This area was Ute land first and Needlerock was ceremonial ground. We have lots of large fields (110 acres) A river running through to dip into and secluded areas to be at one with the magical beauty here. Once a working sheep ranch we are now taking time to dream into this magical place and it’s next incarnation. Come pitch a tent or there are a couple spots to car camp and share in this ranch paradise. We limit each camping spot to two adults or a family with children are fine. Please do not come with 4+ people and one tent. Book accordingly and respectfully. There are mosquitos down by the creek at certain times in the summer in the evening, so we recommend bringing some bug spray. There is a fridge in the barn to keep small things cold and tables to use to sit and enjoy the rustic lux surroundings. We provide a porta potty so please only #1 (pee) outdoors. The land is big although we have 7 camping spots listed, and they are mowed all summer, there is plenty of room to usually be able to choose your own exact spot. This is a cut above basic camping with some nice amenities! We have very friendly dogs, horses and goats. The dogs are out and about and will want to greet you and possible hang out a little. It’s their home too:) We often have a friends yaks grazing here and the next door neighbors cows are always there.

Weekend Trip to Gondola Village at Holy Cross

We had a lovely (but challenging, carrying a toddler) hike up and stay at Cabin #2. The cabin was quaint, clean and more well-appointed than expected (I guess we didn't need to pack a hatchet?). It was hovering around freezing when we arrived, but we got the stove lit and got the space up into the 50s for a comfortable night. Sunrise was lovely from bed and we finished our trip with a hike up to the lake in the morning before descending to the car.

Had the BEST time tent camping here over the weekend! The staff onsite was friendly and helpful. The sites and bathrooms were clean and well managed. I was shocked to see there was laundry on site as well which was so nice to have after coming back from the hot springs. Definitely recommend 10/10 will stay again.

Weekend Trip to Goodview Campground at RMOC

We had a great weekend at this site! It's right on the river, and given the time of year (mid-September) the water level was down a bit and there were no rafters going by so the site was very private. There were a few fly fisherman, but that was it. Despite the light up on the hill that other's have noted (I think it's on an adjoining property) we thought the stars were pretty wonderful. My daughter and I commented that it was probably our favorite campsite we have been to on our annual camping trip. I would highly recommend. Some things to note: 1) While the owner's should probably pony up and provide a picnic table at the site (it would really improve the site), we brought a small folding table that worked out perfectly. 2) You have to load your equipment down a fairly steep wooden ramp so be prepared.

Amazing campsite! It is tucked into its own little corner, so you are secluded from all the other campers. Very clean and cool site! Right off of the Arkansas river, so you fall asleep to the sound of water. There is an outhouse just a short walk away that was very clean as well.
