We have 23 full hook-up sites, 6 partial riverside sites for smaller units with electric and water only, and tent sites that sit on the river. We also have begun hosting our first artist/maker residents who are using the shop space and land to bring their own creations to life. Over time, we have dreams of permaculture farming, eco building workshops, community collaboration, and the ability to host gatherings – however, we are committed to taking it all one step at a time and allowing only what is meant to be to unfold. For now it is simply our home, a maker space for art and experimental eco building, a gathering spot for friends and a quiet Hipcamp spot.

The Rio Grande River offers world class fly fishing. There are plenty of lakes and creeks to enjoy also. Wolf Creek Ski Area is just up the road from South Fork, Colorado for all your winter fun downhill skiing and snowboarding. Cross Country Skiing and Snowshoeing are fun low cost family activities with plenty of terrain to enjoy. Great Sand Dunes National Park is open all year long and is a day trip from South Fork. Enjoy the Sand Dunes National Park, learn how they were formed, hike a dune and try sand boarding. Zapata Falls is a short hike near the Sand Dunes. South Fork Colorado has several other waterfalls nearby to visit, Treasure Falls and South & North Clear Creek falls. You will want to come back year after year to explore all we have to offer.

We really enjoyed the beautiful grounds the hospitality and the location was perfect for what we were doing in Pagosa. The only issue I had was there’s only one shower one bathroom for a lot of peopl. I would definitely go there again. It’s a little pricey, but worth the money. Oh by the way, make sure you bring money for the shower. Lol

Weekend Trip to The Last Resort on the River

We arrived late and checked out early. A quick overnight on our journey. So we didn’t get a chance to experience everything. I can say the host was wonderful. Walked us to our site. Explained everything about the grounds. They seem to have everything you could need. We backed our van to within 15 feet of a running creek. Nice. Beautiful location, not far from Pagosa Springs (10 miles ish). Would definitely return when in the area. Thanks!

Beautiful view! The campsite is directly behind the house as shown in the pics, but was not a problem for us. The host was very friendly. The location is close to town, and we walked to the Coffee Bear every morning to get our day started. Staying at this location was easy and relaxing. Thank you for your hospitality!

The convenience of the well-stocked kitchen made our stay even easier. Night skies are pretty incredible here. And Rumi, the resident shepherd, is an absolute sweetheart. This felt like a magical gift from the universe. Found it last minute and it was definitely off the beaten path but that was what I wanted. It felt like being at the center of the universe with views all around the canyon especially at night. The wolves howling and the nighthawks grunts were the only sounds at night and it was so peaceful! The hammock swings were also a really nice touch. The hostess and her dogs were very friendly and helpful too! I will absolutely stay here again.

The Last Resort on the River was wonderful! The bathrooms are clean, the skies are dark, the traffic noise is negligible at night, and if you’re a digital nomad, the WiFi is great, especially in the riverside sites 5 & 6. You won’t be sorry you stayed here!

Great little spot close to downtown Silverton. We managed to get our 30’ wolf den into their spot, but wouldn’t recommend anything much larger if you have a tow vehicle. The 110 power was super convenient to keep the batteries charged so we didn’t have to run a generator. Joe and Patricia were super accommodating and kind. We ended up dumping tanks at the Red Mountain RV spot up the road for $20. The closer one charges $25.

This was such a beautiful stay. My boyfriend and I stayed here on a cross country road trip, and we felt so rested and rejuvenated. The bathrooms and showers are so cool and well made. The kitchen is also amazing, it was fully decked out and had all sorts of spices and pots and pans— it made our breakfast so much easier! We loved hearing all the wildlife and being in such a beautiful secluded area!
