The Last Resort on the River is a small and quiet RV park on the Blanco River off Highway 84 between Chama, New Mexico and Pagosa Springs, Colorado. We have 23 full hook-up sites, 6 partial riverside sites for smaller units with electric and water only, and tent sites that sit on the river. Our end goal is to have cabins but they are not a reality yet. Firewood is available for purchase as are shower tokens for showers. The bathhouse has separate men’s and women’s showers/restrooms along with a washer and dryer.

Our RV Park in South Fork CO has space for 18 R.V.’s. Each site has full hookups with the majority being 50amp service and are oversized so that they can handle any big rig! There is a shower house and laundry facility available for our guests (seasonal). There is more than ample parking and each site is easy to access.
Our sites are back off the highway for a more relaxing atmosphere and the view is amazing. We have a community fire pit of which we can roast hot dogs, marshmallows for s’mores and tell all the stories you would like. “What goes on at the Fire Pit stays at the Fire Pit.”

South Fork Colorado has all the family fun and challenging terrain you could ever look for. 1000’s of miles of trails to hike and bike. The Rio Grande River offers world class fly fishing. There are plenty of lakes and creeks to enjoy also.
Wolf Creek Ski Area is just up the road from South Fork, Colorado for all your winter fun downhill skiing and snowboarding. Cross Country Skiing and Snowshoeing are fun low cost family activities with plenty of terrain to enjoy.
Great Sand Dunes National Park is open all year long and is a day trip from South Fork. Enjoy the Sand Dunes National Park, learn how they were formed, hike a dune and try sand boarding. Zapata Falls is a short hike near the Sand Dunes.
South Fork Colorado has several other waterfalls nearby to visit, Treasure Falls and South & North Clear Creek falls.

Miller Flats is a privately own home on 40 acres bordered on 4 sides by Bureau of Land Management (BLM). The Powderhorn Wilderness is literally in the back yard. You will find hiking and biking trails plentiful. The Lake Fork of the Gunnison River is just across the street, with public access just two miles away. If you are looking for Jeep or ATV trails, they are less than a mile down the road. We are twenty miles from the spectacular Alpine Loop! And twenty-five miles from Blue Mesa Reservoir.
Tent sites include a firepit, and flat spot for tent. Water and electricity are available at the well house, but not the tent sites. Each campsite has a five gallon bucket of water, a camp potty with a removable bag that you dispose. There may be an outdoor shower available for an extra fee.
Please do not plan on using the firepit unless we have had recent rain and the camp host approves. The grass around the campsite is a wildfire waiting to happen since we have been in a severe drought since 2021. There is a pile of wood near the cabin driveway that you can use for campfires. Please make sure you have a way to extinguish your fire.
The road to the tent sites is BLM. It is not gravel, it is dirt. My car can get to most sites, but the camp host can help haul gear if you don’t want to drive down it. I have had several sedans drive the road, but if you have a low profile vehicle we can tote your supplies. Also, in spring the road may be muddy. Please have a 4 wheel drive. Just send me a message and we will make it work for you.
Satellite Wifi is available near the well house, but somewhat spotty. Not great for downloading movies or gaming. Some people get cell service at the top of the hill, but otherwise there is very little in the area.
Your tent sites are arranged around the property next to the wilderness and a BLM trail. You will be able to drive there. There is a log home on the center of the property, about a quarter mile or more away from the tent sites. We rent the property and a third of the time we are living on premises. There are gardens, barn cats, dogs and we are hoping to add a horse and a fuzzy cow. There are outdoor living areas between the log home and your sites.
If you are interested in more seclusion, please see the Private Valley campsite. It has a ridge between the cabin, other campsites and the well house.

HISTORIC SPRUCE LODGE
A rich history that goes back to the 1920's and listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
The Spruce Lodge, originally built in 1927 in South Fork, CO, is located near the Rio Grande River at the foot of the San Juan Mountains and provides an environment of warm hospitality in a relaxed atmosphere. Historically accommodating workers for the Sawmill in the 1920's, The Spruce Lodge was purchased in May of 2022 with a primary purpose of housing adults who are participating in a Gap Year program designed to mentor new adults and serve the South Fork community.
The property continues to operate as a hotel and has undergone extensive updates to all of the rooms. We have 8, 30 amp RV spots available to rent from April to October. Our small RV lot allows for a less crowded RV experience with all the same, beautiful views and access to all the area has to offer. And we have the most affordable rates in South Fork! Most of our RV guests end up extending their stay to take advantage of all the outdoor activities South Fork and the San Luis Valley have to offer. If you have stayed here before, you will notice some of the changes. And if this is your first time, welcome to South Fork. We hope you enjoy southern Colorado!

The grass around the campsite is a wildfire waiting to happen since we have been in a severe drought since 2021. There is a pile of wood near the cabin driveway that you can use for campfires. Please make sure you have a way to extinguish your fire.
The road to the tent sites is BLM. It is not gravel, it is dirt. My car can get to most sites, but the camp host can help haul gear if you don’t want to drive down it. I have had several sedans drive the road, but if you have a low profile vehicle we can tote your supplies. Also, in spring the road may be muddy. Please have a 4 wheel drive. Just send me a message and we will make it work for you.
Satellite Wifi is available near the well house, but somewhat spotty. Not great for downloading movies or gaming. Some people get cell service at the top of the hill, but otherwise there is very little in the area.
Your tent sites are arranged around the property next to the wilderness and a BLM trail. You will be able to drive there. There is a log home on the center of the property, about a quarter mile or more away from the tent sites. We rent the property and a third of the time we are living on premises. There are gardens, barn cats, dogs and we are hoping to add a horse and a fuzzy cow. There are outdoor living areas between the log home and your sites.

HISTORIC SPRUCE LODGE
A rich history that goes back to the 1920's and listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
The Spruce Lodge, originally built in 1927 in South Fork, CO, is located near the Rio Grande River at the foot of the San Juan Mountains and provides an environment of warm hospitality in a relaxed atmosphere. Historically accommodating workers for the Sawmill in the 1920's, The Spruce Lodge was purchased in May of 2022 with a primary purpose of housing adults who are participating in a Gap Year program designed to mentor new adults and serve the South Fork community.
The property continues to operate as a hotel and has undergone extensive updates to all of the rooms. We have 8, 30 amp RV spots available to rent from April to October. Our small RV lot allows for a less crowded RV experience with all the same, beautiful views and access to all the area has to offer. And we have the most affordable rates in South Fork! Most of our RV guests end up extending their stay to take advantage of all the outdoor activities South Fork and the San Luis Valley have to offer. Absolutely beautiful. The darkest skies you'll find in the area. Wide open field to the east for a beautiful sunrise through the Aspens. Trees are pretty close on the west, which is okay because the road is right there also, but there is not a lot of traffic, I think three trucks and four four side-by-sides went by all day, it is a private community after all. If you walk out into the field you can see North and South pretty good as well. I was there to start gaze so I did not walk around much, but the people that I did see were very nice. I did venture down to evergreen lake, be careful, it gets really, really steep, and there were lots of deer, I think I saw 20 deer in one day.

I went with my family to watch the meteor shower and we got exactly what we were looking for. Tent camping in a private spot with access to water and a pack out toilet. We arrived late and checked out early. A quick overnight on our journey. So we didn’t get a chance to experience everything. I can say the host was wonderful. Walked us to our site. Explained everything about the grounds. They seem to have everything you could need. We backed our van to within 15 feet of a running creek. Nice. We LOVED our time at PR ranch. It was exactly what we were looking for- secluded, beautiful, and accessible. We hiked a bit, played in the river (young sons), fished, and just enjoyed being outside together. We drove through some of the Rio Grande National forest and that was awesome, we even got to see Bighorn sheep. Glenn is a lovely man and took us around the property in his mule (4- wheeler). We highly recommend this property.

AIYM Camp is an amazing place; I highly recommend it. It’s a beautiful setting, every aspect of the facilities is in amazing condition, clean, functional and seems brand new. But, what really made our stay special was the hospitality of Jim and Melony. The are so warm and welcoming, giving us insight about the valley and activities in the area. Beautiful view! The campsite is directly behind the house as shown in the pics, but was not a problem for us. The host was very friendly.
