Stoneyard Distillery, producing Beet Sugar Spirits since 2013. Taking its name from the old stoneyard surrounding it. Upstream from the confluence of the Eagle and Colorado Rivers, this site was chosen for it's private water source. Rocky Mountain water pulled directly from the river.
The Distillery sits on a 4000 year old lava flow from the Dotsero Volcano. This lava rock provides the vapor refining distillation packing in the still hand built by the owners. With it's scratch built process, Stoneyard distills the true Spirit of Colorado into every last drop.

Aspen is a little over an hour away. Pets are welcome and can be off leash if they can respond to voice controls and owners are responsible for their pets at all times. Dogs love it here! The property was easy to find and the host was responsive when I had questions. It is located right along the interstate highway, but the noise wasn’t excessive. I would stay here again.

Ample space to pitch a large tent. The large lean to with chairs and table was great for dinner on a cool evening. We had to pack up and get moving but this would be a fun place to stay for a couple days in the area. Gerry was kind and helpful.

After driving to many of the local BLM camps and not feeling comfortable with leaving our camp to fish the local rivers, we found Gerry’s oasis. She was an amazing host, has a beautiful property and the experience was very tranquil. Highly recommended.

Tent camped here with a larger group after hiking hanging lake! It was a great place to rest coming from Denver that gave us access to some supplies and stopping in Vail before. Host was awesome and kind! If you are coming from Denver and not familiar with the area, odds are you won’t be able to have a fire due to local restrictions, so bring a light or lantern!

Max is so flexible and his campsite is SO convenient when traveling this stretch of I-70! It’s a lovely area to stop. The views are beautiful. Yes, you’re near a highway, but what a beautiful place to be beside a highway! The stars are amazing at night. The moonshine during the day is pretty good too — try Max’s Colorado-grown spirits and his hand-crafted cocktails during business hours and your road-weariness will melt away. Even if you’re not up for a drink, spend some time at the cozy bar enjoying Max’s candor and knowledge of the area, and take a bottle home for yourself — or friends.

Pretty cool little spot! Great for being close to Glenwood springs. Host was really friendly and they make awesome unique cocktails at the distillery. If you’re just boondocking and need a convenient location this is perfect.
