Located just off the highway north of Buena Vista, the grounds are surprisingly quiet. Hookups and amenities were working and in good shape. Bring a roll of quarters with you if planning on staying long enough to need a shower. The bathrooms are equipped with pay showers-think of quarter-operated car washes as that is how they are. set up. Very dog friendly, there is a good-sized dog run for your pup. A short drive to BV for anything you need or might have forgotten.

Weekend Trip to Cumberland High Alpine Campsites!

The campsite was absolutely beautiful!! There was access to a couple hiking trails at the top so we were able to explore the area. We drove up from Tincup on the way in and it made for a bumpy ride. On our way down we went through Pitkin and the road was much smoother. There were sparse trees at the top of Cumberland Pass and it was a little windy, but other than that the weather was great in early August. Tony is a great host and made us feel super welcome!

We enjoyed this location so much! The grounds were well kept and quiet. Finding the spot was easy and getting in and out was not a problem at all! It’s far enough off the highway so you cannot hear the traffic, but it was close to access anything. Fairplay has to offer. If you’re looking for more of an outdoor mountain, feel this might not be the pics. But, it is within driving distance of lots of outdoor activities.

We had a great time in FairPlay! Aarons cement pad was level and an easy place to park our trailer. Its proximity to historic South Park City and the River were awesome. We had electricity, water and sewer all at our site. The area was a mixture of cute mobile homes, tiny houses and some campers. Neighbors were super friendly.

Absolutely beautiful spot and good level ground for camping. We have a small tear drop trailer, which made a little slow going up the pass from Tincup, but very doable with capable vehicle and trailer. Only knock would be these sites are at the very top of the pass, which leaves a lot of exposure to wind.

We really enjoyed staying on this lot, it was a tight fit for our 38ft motorhome width wise (not length wise). But the mountain scenery and kind neighbors made that not really matter. Feels like a safe spot for kiddos, nice neighborhood center basically right across the parking lot. Aaron was very communicative and replied quickly to any questions we had.
