Florissant is a certified dark sky place in Colorado. The stargazing is AMAZING! BEAUTIFUL property with two campsites nestled in a large aspen grove in a "dark sky" area of Colorado. Amy and John were so welcoming and kind and communication was great! The campsites feel very private and remote, while still being accessible to activities and a few businesses. The Aspen site feels more shaded and woodsy, while Boyscout is more open with nice views. It was great to have the whole camping space to ourselves along with the safe house option a short hike away for food storage, indoor plumbing, WiFi, and escape from the rain :) Wish we could have stayed longer!

Our stay at Badger Creek Ranch was awesome! The location is remote and beautiful so we were able to get away and relax. But it's also a working ranch so we had the benefit of some nice amenities like a fully functional bathroom and the standard camping setup like a fire pit and picnic table. It was everything we needed for a weekend away and was close enough for adventures in Salida and Buena Vista. As an added bonus, if you're interested, the team at the ranch was so cool to chat with and they let my son help out with feeding the horses, sheep and chickens, which he loved! We certainly hope to be back sometime, it was a great experience.

My family and I would first and foremost like to say thank you John and Amy for lovely welcome, the caring texts, and exciting notifications! We had a perfect weekend at your gem of a resort, I mean camp site. Moments we will not forget. We are so lucky to have stayed here and met you two! Tent camping was a breeze, and the safe house is a close, well stocked refuge that is so cute. We loved the art inside and out. We visited the fascinating fossil beds, swam at 11 mile, and ate some good local food before returning for a second night. We had a hot shower, good coffee, and a genuine farewell with kindness and respect from these wonderful hosts who provided everything we could have needed, including a generous check out time! 10/10 We hope to see you in the future! Thanks again!
